triple j's aus music month starts next week. arias arent too far away. laneways have sold out in record time. and omg did anyone listen to rosie on triple j on friday night. i listened from 8pm to 10pm and it was 2 of the best hours of radio i have ever heard. just awesome party songs one after the other. made me realise just how good this year has been in all types of genres. EDIT: OMG Usher tickets go on general sale tomorrow. OMG OMG OMG! it is sooooo worth spending 200 bucks to see him. (multiple puns were intended)

listening to Dear Science for the first time in ages!!! had completely forgotten just how brilliant this album is.

im with eddie here. that is a seriously good list of bands. i wish i had gone to see the strokes when they were here in july :( has anyone seen a band more than 5 times? and i dont mean your mates band or something. i mean a well known established act. in the coming holidays i will be seeing Tame Impala for the 4th time and theyre still on their debut album tour so i hope they become a band i end up seeing 10 or 15 times in my life.

yeah im with you there.

i think "the boy" is just plain confused and lost haha. quite literally everything has been going bad for him the last few months. starting with the poor end to the last season, then the joke of a world cup, then the whole affair scandal and then the fake injuries. he just wanted something to go his way for a change (superstars footballers need everything to go their way or its the end of the world) so he took man utd hostage in a certain way and kinda said "do things my way or im out of here" like a pyscho killers demands a ransom for his hostages. sometimes if you say the right things to that psycho he will calm down and withdraw his demands and start seeing sense. maybe thats whats happened with wayne lol. doubt it but its fun contemplating.

and sir alex seriously needs to get himself a decent hat.

i am relieved more than pleased. i will be pleased when he starts scoring goals like he was last season.

this is incredible. i always had a tiny bit of hope that things would turn around before the january transfer window. cos he has gone through a lot in the last few months and he just wanted to escape from it all. he must be put on the field against stoke on the weekend and be given the chance to get back into form.

i think if he hadnt used it in every song for basically every word it wouldve been a better album. but there are a couple of gems in there like Paranoid and Amazing.

i've always preferred late registration but theres no doubt that college dropout is incredible. and bar a few songs Graduation is not far behind, cant tell me nothing is one of kanye's best works. 808s albeit his weakest effort is very much underrated, if you look past the over use of auto tune there is a very very well produced emotional album. im predicting dark twisted fantasy to be up there with one of his best efforts. he tweeted the other day about how proud he is to have produced 5 albums in 6yrs and i must admit this is one bit of self praise i agree with. not only is it 5 albums in 6yrs but they've all been quality releases that have enjoyed both mainstream and alternative scene success as well as a lot of respect from the more hardcore hip hop fans.

Foals, Beach House and Cloud Control are all in my top 10 albums of the year at this stage and Cut Copy have made one of my favourite albums of all time. it will be great to hear selections from those records live on stage.
