we almost made up for it with half a dozen sideshows lol yeah that killed me didnt everyone miss out on him? they were awesome :P i walked out after 20mins so meh.

yeah it is eww but i gots to do what i gots to do even if that means missing out on some awesome summer gigs. im pretty happy with the gigs ive seen this year and the ones i will be seeing in the coming months. the one i really regret missing would have to be the Strokes.

i dont think U2 have done a non-stadium show in australia for over 20yrs and i dont see that changing anytime soon if ever.

i'll be doing summer school in the second half of january so i'll have little or no time to attend any BDO sideshows but might......just might make an exception for Tool.

OH SHEEEEEEEEET! that is awesome. i listened to OK Computer on my new headphones today. it sounded sooo different. gave me a new perspective on my favourite album.

we should set these posts aside and then look at them again at the end of summer. i just dont see any of us staying true to our word. lol

the Billboard Touring Awards have announced their nominations. and in the category for best venue in the world, Sydney's Acer Arena has been nominated alongside the legendary Madison Square Gardens and O2 Arena in London. represent!! :P (im not sure if thats the correct use of the term)

I GOT FRONT OF STAGE STANDING TICKETS TO THEIR SYDNEY SHOW!!!! :D apologies for the caps but when their first show sold out in a few minutes i was really disappointed. but then 2 nights ago they announced a second show and i wasnt going to miss out on that. im even happier that 4 people came out of nowhere almost and said they wanted to come with! ive bought tickets for 3 of them already the 4th is uncertain. but regardless i couldnt be happier with how this has panned out. bring on Jan 7 :)

i got these today. Sennheiser HD 448 they cancel ambient noise passively. meaning you dont have an annoying battery pack to deal with rather the closed design blocks out noise. the downside is it only blocks out maybe 70% of noise whereas a good active (with battery pack) noise canceler gives u up to 90% cancellation. they're comfortable to use for between an hour or hour and a half anything more your ears will start to burn a little. the sound is great for rock and most "indie" types of music but if you like rave or heavy bass dance then stay away from these. the bass on it just cant handle those genres of music. personally for me the biggest downside is the fact that it doesnt fold away but i candeal with that. i got this for about $100 aussie dollars which is now equal to US and Canadian dollars and about 60 pounds. i also got 2yrs warranty on it.

now that i have tickets to the National. all i need now is to see Arcade Fire and my summer will be complete. at this moment Laneway and Tool sideshow would be a bonus.

theres a scene in the recent rockumentary It Might Get Loud where they show The Edge playing an original demo of Where the Streets on his ancient 4 track, it then gradually it makes a transition into the band playing the song in front of 80 000 fans at Slane. i wish i could find a clip of it online cos it is goosebump worthy. my favourite live U2 video would have to be Live in Paris 1987 aka the Tear Gas Show.

i remember that performance. i've got it on dvd. they were in such a good mood that day, they had some really funny banter between them. i think that was the show where anthony forgot a lot of the lyrics so he was making them up as he went lol. the ending jam was also pretty awesome.

never seen them live but from going on live videos i would say theyre better on cd. theyre the type of band i would love to see do some jamming and improvisation on stage because they have the talent and chemistry to do it.

ive gone from going alone to The National to now going with a group of 4! yay

yeah at this point im going alone to The National. but ive been listening to Boxer and High Violet religiously this past month and i wouldnt be able to live with myself if i missed out on them just cos i had nobody to go with. i have work today so im going to be a little late to buy the tickets. im hoping that not many people have heard about the 2nd announcement so it wont sell out in less than 30mins!

actually i would say Bryce is the very very very very early morning "owl" im pretty impressed by that Future line up. theyve secured 10 pretty strong acts which is much better than what they managed for 2010. i wont be going, dont quite have that much money hhaha The National have announced 2nd shows in sydney and melbourne consequently pissing off fans in every other city. tickets go on sale in just a few hours. 5PM in sydney to be exact.

yeah its best to move off religion. but it is hard to talk 9/11 without bringing up religion.

^^ kinda ironic how most of those arab nations who operate under some form of islamic law have a much greater proportion of women in their parliaments and governments than most western countries. same goes with pakistan and indonesia both have had very very influential and important female leaders in the past. muslim women may wear veils but western women cant get past the glass ceiling. from my knowledge much of the oppression against muslim women is not based on the teachings of the koran rather its the culture that has been around for many hundreds in those parts of the world and have now fused with the religion. to get back on topic. conspiracy theories on tragedies such as 9/11 make me sick.
