the only problem i have with VLV is that it lacks a significant climax, the way Coldplay songs classically do. other than that, it's great.

yeah same here. i think a change in sound is definitely interesting and exciting to me. i love Coldplay's established sound but branching is just as lovely to me. i just can't wait to hear the finished product.

i also get a Jesus and Mary Chain vibe from this.. and a little tiny pinch of My Bloody Valentine, especially the first 5 seconds. Tracie used the ethereal and I think that's spot on. this is beautiful sounding. liked it immediately.

i'm telling you guys.. that's the only bit i think we're all going to have to wait for. really impressed with all the great lines you've all contributed but i just wouldn't be surprised if that line is something totally different than what we've all come up with. we know it starts with "my" though. haha.

this is what's irking me.. and what makes me think it's neither poem or unfold(s) i don't or can't hear the 's' in the "unfolds" or the 'm' in poem i don't hear an 's' after 'unfolds' but instead hear what sounds like "fauve", with a stress on the 'v' sound. is it just me? someone else has got to be hearing that as well. really can't get what he's saying there though. i wouldn't be surprised if it's totally different from what we've all come up with.

i think i got it.. "My love's light pulls, it unfolds" i don't know.. it really sounds like "will unfold" as well though. guess we'll have to wait and see..

Reign of Love must've been inspired by Eno, in the gospel respect at least. knowing Eno's love for Gospel music. wonder what it sounds like..

i think i'm correct in thinking he sings "my love's" seeing that the last two lines were also in the first person. question is: what's his love like?? EDIT: hmm.. sounds like the two words we're all stumped on each end with a "th" sound (as in teeth) someone back me up on this. they are two words that rhyme possibly. that 'th' sound is clear to me now.

c# minor doesn't have an A natural nor a B natural. e major does. e major doesn't have a b flat. c# minor does. two totally different scales. piano world is most definitely correct. i just vomited in my mouth. someone lock this wasteful thread. i'm down.. haha

it's hardly heavy though haha. only those few chords. are you not a fan of distortion in just this song? or in general?

it's understandable if someone doesn't like the song on the outset especially if they were expecting a Parachutes/A Rush Of.. type track i was surprised myself at how it sounded when i first listened, and didn't think much of it. but reading along with the lyrics somehow make the music sound sweeter and i accepted it, it sunk in. the key is playing it with a pair (or triad or quartet or quintet) of speakers, at volume 11 for maximum impact. maybe not 11, but loud enough. make sure the bass settings are good and i'll find it hard for any Coldplay fan to not be blown away. play it loud and let it sink in, i say.

is it just me or does the "unfold" that everyone hears sound like "unfove", which i know isn't even a word. i just swear i hear a "fff" sound in there. it sounds like unfold until that 'fff'. unless my hearing is awful. haha. that's the only line i'm hung up on. i'm sticking to "my love's like ____ that _____"
