CP did go back in the studio to record new material just a few weeks back - remember in NME the "Flotsam and Jetsam" that Jonny said was "a few ideas" they had. I reckon that's code for an EP or something to be released midway through the tour to rekindle interest before they hit the big stadiums in Europe in 2009. Then a proper new album at the end of 09 to, as they said, to give the decade a good sending off. *Fingers crossed* But I hope we get Famous Old Painters, Rainy Day, Postcards From Far Away, Glass Of Water, Prospekt's March et al before then. Prospekt's March really sounds like the opening track on an album, doesn't it?:thinking:

Hey, any other week and this topic would be raging but with the full album out etc things are just kinda getting pushed aside. The Lounge is practically a wasteland. 2000 Miles is DEFINITELY a Christmas song as it was released on their website as a special CHRISTMAS PRESENT!! But it is a Pretenders cover. And Reign of Love is more...ambiguous...."Locusts will lift me up" & "I wish I'd spoken up" kinda strike me of being a guy who was hit by the sudden fervor of romance but now, after marriage (hence "by the church we're waiting") he releases his mistake and wishes he'd said something as he is now trapped - "I'm just a prisoner in the reign of love". It sounds like a hymnal but one of a rather dubious romantic nature. But maybe that's just me? Romance hasn't being going to good for me the last while so maybe that's why I'm interpreting it this way.:\

Haha, no matter how "scarring" the critics like to say X&Y was, it sold 10million units and CP are as strong as ever - probably stronger. This record will be MASSIVE. :) And if U2 don't release their record this year but hold off until 2009 then CP have it sewn up lock, stock and two smoking LPs.

No no no no!!! Raiders and Last Crusade all the way! Temple has a great first 10 minutes but then just nosedived for me. Course we all have different opinions - the most important one being mine, of course:laugh3: EDIT: The "chilled monkey brains" was pretty out of it!
