  1. Dont expect anything this year. They are going to play the exact same set in Latin America and go back to the Beehive and record for a good 7-8 months. Add a few months for master and pressing we may be seeing it in a year, but I expect an April 2011 release and a massive Stadium World Tour, including in North America. Or I could see them doing a more Parachutes/AROBTTH style album which is more acoustic oriented, release that for May and do a theater Tour of England (a la Reworked - Snow Patrol), then do a tour of the West coast of N. America (a la Eddie Vedder for Into The Wild), then move to the east coast. Than maybe a club tour of Europe. Ending around November. Closing shop until April 2011 when they release a full follow up to Viva and rip around the world playing stadiums in every city and multiple nights on most stops.
  2. I dont like 3 or 4 off of X&Y, most notably Fix You. It has an amazing meaning, just well annoying...
  3. I want a acoustic sound because Viva La Vida felt forced at times. At first it sounded great and flowed; it was catchy and wonderful. Then about a hundred listens in (Im serious a hundred) it begins to feel forced. Listen to Viva La Vida, then listen to this version: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Zl2TfsJa4k&feature=related]YouTube- Coldplay - "Viva la Vida" Live & Acoustic "Stripped" on I Heart Radio[/ame] To me the loss of all the production on the song (about 10 tracks) makes it seem so much better, to my ears. It flows way better and I can actually feel it, Martin and Will sing with passion. The Piano is better than the strings and Jonnys guitar is actually noticeable now. Yet it still makes me move the same as the original. Im a huge fan of Lovers too, easily my favorite off the album and second out of the Viva era. Yet to me the acoustic is once again leaps and bounds better. Its not as cluttered or loud. It still is that happy upbeat song, and could easily be worked into a better full version than the album. Life in Technicolor is perfection, straight up. Simply because its a combination of acoustic and electric and Eno. Violet Hill, even though its fallen by the way side is another awesome track. 42, incorporates acoustic again. Its all the songs with an acoustic feel that are more genuine than the forced production of Eno. Chris is far far better mellowed out. I want an album that sounds like Love 2003. Politik, One I Love, A Rush Of Blood, Moses all sound bloody amazing. Too bad we ripped apart X&Y because its an amazing album! I want them to go that direction more than this Viva direction.
  4. To this day I wish Coldplay had done away with the Howling Bells completely and given Snow Patrol an Hour and fifteen instead! Night of my life to be there. Ive said it before and will say it again, Snow Patrol were the best openers I have ever seen. Not a single person were in their seats! Everyone was standing, ushers said not a single person was in the concession area! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiL03yixlQI&feature=related]YouTube- Chasing Cars - Snow Patrol[/ame] - Not as good as the last one, but it shows how appreciated they were here. I wish they were bigger here in North America so I could see them headline a show!
  5. I feel like the CRTC as I have to have a minimum number of Canadian Content... Im going with a theme again this time...American Rock. Got some 80s, Grunge(I dont count this band or song as grunge though), Post-Grunge and Folk, with a little blues.
  6. Songs of Ascent - U2 even if No Line was give and take, Winter sounds amazing. Also Im hoping John Mayer actaully follows through and drops a second album this year as he has hinted. Coldplay would be nice, but I think we'll be waiting a bit. Arcade Fire, I will take a listen.
  7. Only 6 shows got filmed all tour. Chicago on leg one for the Lost! video and the Lovers In Japan live video. Vancouver and Wembley are for the archives. Barcelona was the intended DVD location, but the sound was messed up the entire night. The mass ammounts of Cameras at all the shows were for the screens.
  8. Im seriously considering one of the Thinlines. Probably the cheaper one, if its around $1500-2000 I will do it for sure. But that is very wishful thinking.
  9. New U2 is dropping sometime in the new year. Also a new John Mayer album is on the horizon too
  10. I was there both nights! Amazing shows! Where were you seated?
  11. No Jay-Z in the song of the year but U2!?
  12. Lady Gaga will for sure win the disgrace category. Also Jay-z is going strong for mainstream music.

  15. I also made a question!
  16. I agree, it should be our new Postcards type project. I have a feeling thought they'll release it. Probably January.

  18. [Light Through The Veins] Life in Technicolor Cemeteries of London Clocks Glass of Water Speed of Sound Lovers in Japan In My Place 42 Everythings Not Lost ----------------------------- B-Stage ----------------------------- Rainy Day - Remixed version Strawberry Swing - Remixed Version Swallowed in the Sea Postcards ------------------------- Main Stage -------------------------- Viva La Vida Lost! -------------------------- C-Stage -------------------------- Yellow(Will) - Acoustic Shiver - Acoustic Heartless(Kanye West) - Acoustic --------------------------- Viva La Vida Remix --------------------------- Square One Talk White Shadows -------------------------- Encore -------------------------- Politik A Rush Of Blood to the Head Warning Sign Life in Technicolor ii (Lights On) I figured they need to mix some things up. Still open with LiT, and move through a fairly strong set built for both fans and casuals. The b-stage featuresa song that is really made for this remix setting, and one that would be cool if they did it. Swallowed would be awesome solo acoustic. I kept the Postcards-Viva-Lost transition because its to awesome to mess with. On the C-stage Yellow is there and sung by Will because you can tell its a tired song for them, needs to be fresh again. I picked Heartless as the acoustic cover simply because acoustically its a great song, and the crowd would have fun with it. I was also think "I Gotta Feeling" "Just Dance" or "I Kissed A Girl". The two encores are themed. X+Y and A Rush of Blood, they would come out in the all black clothes for these songs as well. Then end with LiT ii, this time with house lights up, Bono once said playing a song with the house lights up is "Like making love in the daylight" its great and they can really connect before they leave!
  19. I agree that PJ are getting it done and sounding genuine with it too. As for the U2 comment, I think U2 were true on their last few outings. No Line is a good album, but to me I dont like it because it doesnt feel right. It has a rough flow to say. Backspacer is great and flows nice and quickly.
  20. They are paragraphs. Sorry I forgot to bold them.
  21. Okay so Im revising my list. This is the final version. 1. Battle Studies - John Mayer [Trio]: As he says this is a concept album so it wont sell well. I have not followed an album so eagerly sing Viva La Vida and Prospekts March. This starts with possibly what will be ranked as one of his best songs of all time. If you listen to one new song this year make it "Heartbreak Warfare". This album is about love and relationships, and moves in an amazing flow. This album features Pino Palladino on Bass and Steve Jordon on drums and production, to the fans known as The John Mayer Trio. If you are looking for the album of the year, look no further! Its the perfect blues album, by our generations best musician. Plus a guest verse from Taylor Swift fits perfectly! This album is dying to be played in an arena of 20,000! 2. Backspacer - Pearl Jam: The last of the grunge bands put out yet another album. You can count them as one fourth Soundgarden too with Matt Cameron on the drums. thats old news though! The album opens strong and goes the whole way, this album isn't long by any means but it sure packs a great punch. Pearl Jam are taking a step forward and playing into a more post-grunge sound now, in fact more then a few times I swear Grohl himself is playing guitar. Overall Pearl Jam move forward and play around with new ideas breaking the grunge lable and playing great overall rock. It also shows the versatility of the band, playing rock and a bit of acoustic. 3. The Blueprint II - Hova is back! For those who didn't appreciate the last two Jay outings this is for you. He reunites with Kanye West on production and you can tell. One of the last great rappers from the old days tightens up the flow, has great beats by West, Timbaland and No I.D. As well as a handful of guests only Jay-Z could get. He has old vets, established stars and the up and comer Drake. This album is defined at the fifth track :Empire State of Mind" Alicia Keys provides a perfectly fitting vocal track that fits perfect with the overall feel of the song. This is easily the best rap album of the year. Its got sick beats, Tight flow and Jay-Z, a perfect recipe for an amazing rap album. 4. Cradlesong - Rob Thomas: Rob Thomas is perhaps another one of those greats that goes unappreciated. He is awesome solo, better with Matchbox, but his second solo effort was to me just good. It wasn't until I heard it in its near entirety live that I fell in love with it. He has great songwriting skills backed by a great band, 2 Matchbox members! He infuses world beats into america rock and it works great. Plus his strong voice is a huge plus, one of my favorites of the year. 5. Free - Gavin Degraw: Another like Cradlesong, I just loved the southern bluesy feel to this album. Degraw has great songwriting on this one, and on a number of the tracks provides great vocals. The album flowed great, and I felt it had somewhat of a story to it. Defiantly top five for me. 6. No Line On The Horizon - U2: The four Irish lads are back again, plus a Brit and a Canadian. Eno and Lanois are back on production for the first time since Actung Baby. Unfortunately, the results aren't the same as their last two efforts together. This album for U2 is a concept album, they try to work with a theme, but it just doesnt translate very well. There are a few moments when I think I'll hear some classic style U2, but it never really plays out. Which is probably why the album wasnt as great as everyone expected. On some songs they are trying to top their greatest hits and fail, on the ones they dont it comes across as brilliant. Half the album feels forced and the other half natural. For that it fall short. Thats it. Consider it my top 5 plus one.
  22. The Fixer is Top 25 just for how different it is.
  23. As well as one of the best. What I would give to get my hand on the official bootleg of that show.
  24. See my Siggy! Im going to give U2 another shot In the summer. Im gonna fly out to Europe and see them, one more time. I am still contemplating weather to go see Coldplay in Mexico City. Im seeing John Mayer in April and hopefully he travels with the Trio. I will see Snow Patrol again.
