My girlfriend and I went to the gig super early, we had already bought shirts the night before so we too our seats. They were relatively close to the stage. about 20 feet from b-stage. I said something jokingly to bg my girlfriend and she started to pout. Well Andy the video manager saw and ran over to cheer her up by giving her one of Jonnys picks. I then talked to him and nerded out in Coldplay speak. I named Miller and Phil, talked about their last Vancouver gig. Wel lafter the first opener he came back and said "These are from Chris" and handed them to me. 4th row row 1 on the ramp left side. Right infront of Jonny, it made my life.

Yeah they played to 16,000 in 2006 here in Vancouver. Intimate is always better though, cheap seats are 20 feet from the band! Mine is defiantly a dead lock between "Eyes Open" and "A Hundred Million Suns". Those two albums have been on repeat since last year almost non stop. I'd pick Suns though, Photos is my all time favorite song, just after Open Your Eyes. Which was magical when they played it live 10 feet from me, it made my life! Then an hour and a bit later getting Politik. Did you find the lights for Politik very very blinding. I had to cover my face! I felt bad cause I think they got me on camera for the DVD.

I got upgraded to late to get front row. I did get the ramp seats though, so getting Jonny and Chris all night was great! I knew every word to every song! I love this band to death. They deserve to be way more popular in North America. Snow Patrol sis great interacting with the crowd up front too! Those two show were the best shows because both bands were spot on and they are my top two. I just wish they did away with the Howlling Bells and gave Snow Patrol another 30 minutes!

Yeah I was right up front too! The bass player gave me a few smiles and Gary seemed happy when I screamed "You guys fucking rock" between songs when it was quite. I also attribute the attention to being the only one in the building wearing a "A Hundred Million Suns" shirt. Ever Chris gave me a smile to standing out! They were so awesome live. Gary is great and got the entire audience standing, literally everyone was in their seats rocking out! He also provided the best song dedication ever! "This is to those 4 guys in the fifth row that look like they want to kick my ass!" Im waiting for them to come back!

Give Me Strength reminded me a lot of Signal Fire on guitar at first. Its a great track, the strings are an awesome touch. It builds like you usual Snow Patrol song, but its still pretty good I like it better then Just Say Yes. Dark Roman Wine doesnt remind me of any Snow Patrol song. It has an organ and a revered Gary. Pretty much the entire song, it'll be amazing live in between two songs! They are awesome Dar Roman Wine is defiantly for the fans and Give Me Strength is a mix of hit and quiter acoustic! Its an awesome mix and will take me a week or two to full appreciate in all its greatness. Yeah I got the leak. I spend money on concerts not CDs.

Got Up To Now, and its a great collection! Im not a hardcore fan, but avid enough to know lots of these songs. But I don't know most of them! Holy crap these are all amazing! They need to get back to Canada so I can see them again! They put the Coldplay show into the next level of fucking awesome!

Chris and Jonny up close and personal...
I have picture evidence of Chris' parasol he gave me. They have video evidence!

U2
I did know that! Its such an awesome song! Thats why they need to give it kudos and play it live! I will also sing it to my child!

The 5th Coldplay album
I have said this before, Viva La Vida is Coldplay falling in love with themselves again. Them regaining confidence and knowing they have limitless potential to become the biggest band in the world. Not a U2 2.0 but Coldplay and the next album will be the album they want to make! It will have those gold tracks like LiT ii, Lukas, Goldrush, 42, CoL, and older tracks they made that were brilliant!

U2
I am loving the new remix on the remaster, the Lanois one! For anyone saying that this wouldnt fit on 360 is insane! The only problem is Bono hitting th high notes, but he did Kite and Sometimes on the last tour, he can put passion into one song. I think he can do it, maybe not as good as the album but defiantly a good version. Plus he has Edge to help. Ive been loving the reissue too. 360 did one thing for me, Ive been listening to a lot of old U2 and loving it! It kind of makes me grateful to be a Coldplay fan this early on, I wish I had seen Twisted Logic, but if Coldplay grow half as well as U2, we are in for a wild ride. I've been listening to Zooropa, Popmart Live From Mexico City and UF Reissue nonstop! They just gelled so damn well. Larry and Adam really defanfited from Lanois and it angers me he doesnt get the mainstream appreciation Eno gets. If he worked with Coldplay I would go on record saying the album they would release would be their best ever! Thats part of the disappointment I get from No Line and 360, they can do so much better! I think Eno needs to do what he did with Coldplay and kick Bono out for awhile. Tell him to be all touristy around Vancouver for a week and not come to the studio!

Top 3 Worst Musical Influences according to poll
I would like to disagree with Kanye not being an influence. He is one of the best hip-hop producers of all time. Him and Timbaland are the par of hip-hop, and he is purhaps the most influential producer of our time.

U2
Unforgettable to me is their Viva La Vida. It sounds like Boy/October/War era U2, but they are slowly morphing into what we know them as. Its the best of both worlds album. Plus it has Bad, Pride and UF.

Viva la Vida Concert DVD
I watched How We Saw The World last night on TV, and the camera set up was the exact same, minus the camera on the tracks. For Vancouver that is, I am assuming Wembley too!

U2
I do think VLV did grow over time, but it became to tight and they got to comfortable. Which is exactly what U2 are doing. I hope Coldplay shuffle things up greatly next tour! I still loved the shows I went to, being 4th row does that though :P
-
U2
Hahaha one song defiantly sucks. Coldplay is only going to get bigger, but I have some of the same complaints about Viva La Vida Tour as I do 360. They both need to break these set-list constraints. The only reason I dont hold it against Coldplay as much is they have 4 albums, not 14.

U2
I would have loved to see Coldplay in Montreal. Coldplay absolutely love playing in Canada and it shows. As well as the land down under. I can believe Japanese promoters cant afford U2. I would think that Hong Kong and Bejing could front the cash though. U2 in the Birdsnest would be kinda cool. I have to admit.
-
U2
Mayer hasn't filled the void, its just let me focus on an exciting concert rather then the disappointment of 360. I may fly out to Toronto and Montreal to see 360. Then to spite all you haters of me I will fly to see Giants stadium. With all that airfare costing less then the tickets. Oh how I love working at an airline, or having family who does.
-
U2
Something like that. If I recall they had to exit through the bottom again. Also, my disappointment has been filled with excitement for John Mayer. I know rag on me all you want.
-
U2
hahaha it actually exists? I was referencing Adam from that Simpsons episode.

U2
I think it might. If you want to get die hard though, get a U2 spoon collection, I dont know what I'd do without my spoons!
