The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
They'll probably officially announce all the U.S. dates sometime this week, since a lot of East Coast show dates are leaking. I'm seeing them in just six days, but I still want to go to a full show. ;)

Christmas Lights?
I don't want to be a pessimist, but there is a chance we may never hear the song at all. I hope I'm wrong, of course, but not every song that gets worked on ultimately gets released. :\

"Clocks" #43 in NME's Songs of the Decade
I suppose it's a better list than NME's Best Album list.

2010: The Anticipation Thread
Arcade Fire and Interpol have me most excited, though I didn't know Fleet Foxes was also releasing a follow-up next year. Chalk that up as another one. Also looking forward to the Keane EP.

Grammy Nominations! (awards ceremony 31st January 2010 - Coldplay up for LiTii twice!)
It was a placeholder date that was later changed. Now the 20th anniversary special will air on the 10th, and the episode itself will not air until weeks later. If it really bugs you, I can hunt down a link to prove it. (The "Create a Character" result press release also stated the new air date, for the record)

Grammy Nominations! (awards ceremony 31st January 2010 - Coldplay up for LiTii twice!)
Oh shit, according to a reliable Simpsons fansite (No Homers Club), IT ACTUALLY IS THE SAME NIGHT. :\ But like I said, they probably won't televise these categories.

Grammy Nominations! (awards ceremony 31st January 2010 - Coldplay up for LiTii twice!)
Interesting to note that Viva la Vida won last year for best POP performance. Looks like they wanted to mix it up a bit and not nominate Coldplay in the exact same category, so they put them in best ROCK performance this time. That said, the competition is pretty good, and I'd say the music video win is more likely. And I think it's deserving of a win there.

Grammy Nominations! (awards ceremony 31st January 2010 - Coldplay up for LiTii twice!)
Just two nominations. I think LiTii and Strawberry Swing may have been the only songs eligible, since they were released as singles this year. Just so everyone knows, these particular categories usually aren't shown with the regular show, and are instead awarded at a non-televised pre-show. EDIT: The show will take place on January 31st.

Grammy Nominations! (awards ceremony 31st January 2010 - Coldplay up for LiTii twice!)
Gah, I wanted to post this. I was excited when I read the list. Here's to even more Grammys to add to Coldplay's collection! :D

Just read about the EP. Seems pretty far off but can't wait! :D

Coldplaying Christmas 2009: Secret Santa - Post a pic if you already received a card :D
Finally acquired some stamps and an envelope...now just need to find time to drive this to an off-campus post office. It's nothing super special, but it's at least somewhat personalized for the specific Coldplayer who receives it. My folks back home are out of town for a week, so if the card sent to me arrives, I won't know until at least a week from now (and I may not even be back there until the 18th).

Xfm's Song Of The Decade (yet another poll, VLV and Yellow appear for Coldplay...)
Blah @ Sex on Fire at #3. KOL have way better songs. EDIT: Apparently that's Ricky Gervais' favorite song of the decade. Surprised Yellow and VLV made it on while Clocks didn't. Ah well, lots of good songs on that list.

Vote Chris For "Rock Star Of The Decade"
I don't care for Green Day's new album in general. But that's off-topic...

Vote Chris For "Rock Star Of The Decade"
Voted again this morning, now at #6 ahead of Matt Bellamy. I'm guessing the Green Day forums or something had a huge rally for Billie Joe Armstrong, because he's kicking ass. :(

Coldplaying Christmas 2009: Secret Santa - Post a pic if you already received a card :D
My design has been finished for a few weeks now, but I should really get around to printing it out on card paper and sending it out. Like, this weekend. I don't want to end up with a lump of coal this year. :P

What one song do you think epitomizes Coldplay?
Yellow seems fairly representative. It's popular but not too poppy. It's got a good hook and the lyrics are simple but memorable, as is the tune itself.

Vote Chris For "Rock Star Of The Decade"
Voted. Currently at #17. Now watch him win and have NME put a totally negative spin on it.

PHOENIX
No, you will obey me and listen to them NOW. :P "Lisztomania" is a bloody catchy song. I admit to being a little turned off by the use of "1901" in car commercials, though. Along with Muse and Metric, Phoenix is the other band I'm really looking forward to seeing at this year's KROQ AAX in LA. I still have to listen to their very first album, however.

If you were stuck on an island....
I was gonna say standard Life in Technicolor, because I can see a simple instrumental being less obnoxious over time, but I think I'd settle for something a little more peaceful like Postcards. Heck, even though it has vocals, Parachutes might not be a bad idea either. And it's short, meaning I can spend most of my time listening to the waves or myself moaning in anguish.
