  1. From the pics I saw, it looks like there were balconies and VIP booths. I guess Mike can confirm/deny.
  2. I am now too frightened to show Violet my crappier pics from that day. :laugh3:
  3. Glad the show lived up to expectations. Really awesome that you got to meet and talk to much of the band. :awesome: Acknowledgement by your favorite bands is one of the best damn feelings in the world. I wouldn't mind a Phil solo tour but I think a full Radiohead tour is the priority at the moment. I have another friend who was also at last night's show (not as close to the stage as you were, but no more than 10 rows of people back) who said the venue was stacked top-to-bottom with celebrities again, though different ones than Night 1. He mentioned Ryan Reynolds, Scarlett Johansson, Jack Black, Daniel Craig, and Judd Apatow, so in case people were wondering why they had so much trouble getting tickets if they didn't go through the fanclub sale, that tidbit certainly doesn't help. :P
  4. Big shout-out to everyone who has kept this place running by maintaining a friendly community and quieting negative trolls like yours truly. :D
  5. The sad thing is that there probably are people out there who fell for this and bought it.
  6. And The King of Limbs, though the band released that one themselves and only digitally at first. Not to mention they didn't even tell people about it until 5 days before. Not to mention a hyped album is going to have a lot more people trying to obtain and distribute leaks than something obscure, especially with so many "insiders" listening to advance copies. Eventually one of those people or one of their "best friends" will be a loose cannon and put it out there.
  7. Let England Shake is still my #1 for the year, but my Florence fanboyism could allow Ceremonials to overtake it. When have we traditionally begun the nominations in previous years and what is usually the cut-off date for releases? Because I remember there being arguments over whether In Rainbows was eligible in 2008 and other things. Early October seems a bit early to me.
  8. Sounds awesome. Apparently Metric and several celebs were in attendance and probably bought out all the tickets before most regular fans could buy them. They'll probably keep all the TKOL stuff in their setlists for the meantime because people haven't heard those songs live before, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the other stuff shuffled.
  9. I think we should stop complaining and just be thankful they're not covering Trouble or The Scientist instead.
  10. Video not available in North America. Stupid.
  11. USoE has the coolest bass out of any song on The Resistance, but I didn't even pay attention to the bass on it until somebody told me to. Other than that, it's a cheesy piano song that works infinitely better live than on record. I'll even admit to outright hating it before hearing it live.
  12. Thanks. If anyone was concerned that Snow Patrol would be straying from the path after COITD, this is traditional SP the whole way through.
  13. I went through a phase around '05-'06 where I would listen to nothing but them. Thank God that phase didn't last. :laugh3: Not to mention I've only seen them twice so they're not a band I just follow everywhere. I've seen Grouplove more than twice, for crying out loud, and they only released their 1st album last week! :P
  14. Turned on Radio 1 but then got called in to an unexpected meeting so I couldn't keep listening. :( So yeah, I need a recording too.
  15. Just as long as Ian doesn't tweet about the poll, which would sabotage our efforts by drawing the attention of everyone else (still love ya, Ian :P). Like how our ETIAW-bashing threads didn't actually draw out Coldplay section regulars until it was tweeted about.
  16. TKOL is the most divisive Radiohead album yet but I still hope it does better than MX.
  17. I am the Wolstengift that keeps on giving (okay, I took these last month but never shared them with you guys). :D WARNING: If you are female who has not yet hit menopause, please click the following spoiler tag with extreme caution.
  18. Definitely. I've paid attention to releases this year more than I've paid attention in any previous year, and if there's still something awesome I missed out on, I'll want to check it out.
  19. http://www.snowpatrol.com/news/default.aspx?nid=36682 In other news, totally called TIEYA being a single. :P
  20. Watching right now. This is way better than the SNL performance.
  21. Hyper Music is fucking awesome. Today's the anniversary of my favorite Muse show of the many I went to. And because I haven't posted this video enough (lol): [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIPPDSn9j2k]9-26-2010 Muse, Stockholm Syndrome and 9 minutes of craziness - YouTube[/ame]
  22. And now you don't have to give ANY money to the twilight franchise! :awesome:
  23. Breaking Dawn tracklist revealed. No Muse. TOLD YA SO. :P
  24. As an interesting observation, I've noticed the Viva fans have suddenly all come out of hiding. For much of the past year or two, Viva has been constantly bashed on this forum and I have often partaken in the bashing. This was after the excitement of Viva's release and hype died down and all the Viva fans seemingly vanished. Now suddenly Viva is being treated as a positive evolution for the band and a bridge to MX. Not ragging on anyone here. Just pointing out a trend I've noticed.
