  1. I seem to live in the only area where Lovers in Japan got EXTREMELY whored out on the radio, which is weird because a lot of singles never even make it on the radio here. That was the biggest victim of overexposure on the album for me. The only two songs I outright hate are 42 and Yes, but I'm still lukewarm on a lot of the rest. Like I've said time and again about The Resistance, the first 5 songs on the album are cheesy as hell and range from average to outright bad. Then the album hits Unnatural Selection and suddenly becomes awesome the rest of the way through.
  2. I'm not entirely sure myself, but 11/15 is probably a safe bet. Amazon probably just has placeholder dates in place and can always modify them once we get more release info.
  3. Cemeteries of London and Strawberry Swing are the only 2 songs I still like off Viva. I still like the entire second half of The Resistance.
  4. :awesome: And you're 16? Wow, we've got some young'ns in this thread. :laugh3:
  5. Natt, I just checked Metacritic. VLV and Resistance both score a 72. So it's really not better acclaimed critically. :laugh3:
  6. *feeds troll* The Resistance isn't necessarily great, but certainly isn't worse than VLVODAAHF (in fact, I'd argue Resistance is still better), and Mylo Xyloto is shaping up to be an unfathomably awful steaming horse shit. And I wish they were still recycling the "same old shit" from OoS. But we're winding up with more pop singles instead.
  7. I'll probably only see Coldplay at festivals this time. While MX has disappointed me so far, I'm more turned off from their live shows by the fact that they charge ridiculously high prices in venues that charge a whole lot less for other bands. It looks like the Radiohead shows will be pretty expensive, but not on the obscene arm-and-a-leg levels of a Coldplay show. *really hopes Radiohead at Coachella rumor holds true, but is skeptical*
  8. I hate KOL with every fiber of my being, but their whole set of issues is something that other bands should really mind their own business about. I'm neutral toward The Drums - saw them live once and thought they were okay - but they should let KOL work out their own problems.
  9. Oh, it's will call? I always hate that. But like you said, they'll swing through North America more than once, and NYC is enough of a hotspot to hit up multiple times.
  10. I don't know what your second show is, but it's not as important as a second Radiohead show. Not even if it's a resurrected John Lennon. You're the board's biggest Radiohead fan (sorry, rest of you) and will kick yourself over missing likely variations in each night's setlist. (Though really, if it's a friend's show or some business thing, I totally understand. :P) And though they may not be shows anywhere near me, the fact that we actually have our first tour dates (not counting surprise appearances) since TKOL released half a century ago makes me quite happy because it means more are on the way.

Haha, I was stunned when I learned my supervisor (who I stopped working for 2 weeks ago) was an Elbow fan. We're a rare breed here, though steadily growing, as indicated by the fact that I get to see them in a 5,000-person venue in a few weeks. They played a 2,000 venue here 3 years ago. (then again, I don't think they'll sell out this upcoming show)
  12. You know how being safe and formulaic isn't always bad? Being unique and different isn't always good. Besides, they aren't that different from everyone. Just different from their early years. Instead of being like Travis, Coldplay is now like Rihanna and One Republic.
  13. You just know a few of those are going to have 2nd and possibly 3rd nights added as the first ones sell out. Dates are left open for a reason.
  14. I remember being pissed off because The Suburbs leaked the day I left on vacation for a week, so I couldn't listen to it until a week after everyone else. (and the album was out legally by then, haha)
  15. I'm actually a huge fan of Keane's 2nd album, Under the Iron Sea, but the 3rd album was mediocre and the recent EP was dreadful on every imaginable level. New Muse is a mixed bag but not yet consistently bad enough for me to push off a cliff. Lots of stuff that's as good as their previous output, then lots of stuff that's just outright terrible.
  16. Yeah, I remember joining this forum during Prospekt's March's leak and there was a (totally understandable and fair) policy about keeping leaks from the public forum viewers, so even though I'm not a staff member, everyone should keep that in mind when the moment comes. (and really, leaks of this scale are NOT difficult to track down) If Coldplay is intelligent and follows the wise footsteps of other artists in the last couple years, they will stream the album from their website in the weeks prior to discourage people from downloading a leak and thereby not paying for it. A lot of bands wait for the leak to actually happen before they put up a stream, but assuming no obscenely early leak happens, they should take the Foo Fighters route and just throw it up on their site 2 weeks prior.
  17. Surprisingly agreeable rankings, though I'd throw new Coldplay down with new Keane and new U2 (old Keane is campy but inoffensive. New U2 isn't great but I prefer their 00's output over Pop and Zooropa.)
  18. Haha, I could probably continue describing like 30 random people. (Maybe the navy sweater girl with a black Muse shirt that has the Muse logo in white and some sort of necklace? I will find you in here, dammit. :P) So I missed it earlier in the week but The Resistance is now 2 years old. I still remember the leak pretty well. That thing took forever to leak. Was maybe 3 days before its release. (I think it's hilarious there are people in the Coldplay forum who believe the band has protected Mylo Xyloto so extremely well that it won't leak before release. Oh, naive children.)
  19. LOL no worries. (green sunglasses, dark navy jeans, and a grayish bag maybe? meh, I'll shut up now.)
  20. She does have glasses and I think what's a navy sweater, but okay, never mind. :P (no brown pants and greenish shoes, then? damn, I had some unintentionally funny photos.)
  21. Were you wearing a red scarf and did you have a green water battle with you? (I want to be completely sure I have the right person lol)
  22. Were you about 11 people down the barrier from the center divide? Matt's side?
  23. Hey look, I finally paid for Flickr! :stunned: For those who aren't my Facebook friend and couldn't see my Muse festival photos, and for those who ARE my Facebook friend and wanted to see my Muse festival photos in a quality that is far less shitty than what Facebook does to them (and also see a few that didn't make it to FB), here ya go: http://www.flickr.com/photos/reiserm/sets/72157627694021584/ I didn't post any crowd shots on there but I'm very entertained by some of them as I zoom in and crop them. (Cecilia, I can't tell whether or not you're one of the many Asians that show up in the OSL ones.)
  24. 1. Moving to Mars 2. Us Against the World ---land of the tolerable--- 3. Charlie Brown 4. Hurts Like Heaven ---sewage basin--- 5. Major Minus 6. Paradise 7. Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall
  25. ^ Good point. That slipped all of our minds. :)
