  1. I saw a full eclipse around 10 years ago, i travelled to cornwall, England, it was unbelievable. The night before I saw about 10 shooting stars and i could see the milky way with crystal clarity. I hate the fact that i live in an urban environment where the light pollution destroys the view of the stars. I want to live in the middle of nowhere
  2. AROBTTH - the clothes, the songs, the piano, it was just perfect. I love all the era's tho.
  3. OMG JUST SAW PULP 4th - this survey is officially invalid. they have one semi decent song. common people. O...M....G!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. thats stupid. coldplay 9th? they are clearly better than that.

  10. Yes i was there on the second night. I dont have any anecdotes really, I was just so excited when chris announced it. they played fix you twice which was funny, the crowd loved it. the fireworks only went off once tho :(. It was the best coldplay concert i have been to and i have been to alot, i was at the small show at the bbc aswell, and both nights for wembley, and the the MEN arena in manchester which was a long drive from london.
  11. I love the iphone but can somebody explain to me the appeal of the Ipad? wouldnt everyone prefer a cheaper computer or laptop as it can do everything and more? apart from looking cool which i am ashamed to admit i see no other benefit?

  16. when is this god quote from? Is it old or recent? ive never heard of it? EDIT just found it "I went through a weird patch, starting when I was about sixteen to twenty-two, of getting God and religion and superstition and judgment all confused. I think a lot of our music comes out of that. I definitely believe in God. How can you look at anything and not be overwhelmed by the miraclelousness of it? Everything from the carpet to your nose to my balls is amazing. In fact, my balls are a particular miracle." Martin could no longer wrap his head around the idea of hell, particularly when it was linked to sexual morality--though that was hardly the only reason he wasn't getting laid. "I didn't know what I was doing. I wish somebody whould have come to me when I was fourteen and explained how to give an orgasm. And it's very strange being the world's sexiest vegetarian because eight years ago, if I'd invite someone over to my place for a tofu burger, they wouldn't be interested." He started out going to church when he was young and believing in a Christian God, the article says, though he also poins out, according to the article, that it's not the same God as "those crazy fundamentalists like George W. Bush." He said of singing in church: "Everybody singing together is the best feeling in the world." Im not sure what to make of this, he is sceptical of hell and sort of sounds like a cultural christian with a personal god?
  17. X&Y Boring?! no way! Also ive got to disagree, Viva sounds more like U2 & radiohead than any other album. I think previous works like AROBTTH are the definition of coldplay's sound.
  18. As an aside, my girlfriend is a long, long time U2 fan and she hates Eno. She calls him "the man with a straw," saying that after U2 comes up with an album, Eno comes in with his big straw and sucks the life out of it. :laugh3: LOL I couldnt agree more with you girlfriend, thats such an accurate description IMO
  19. i think this really good, what recording equipment did you use? the chords are slightly off but you already know that i assume? still sounds awesome
  20. Yeh im not too sure on the direction either, to me it was like they were trying to do their own versions of other bands styles, 42 - radiohead, LIJ - U2, Cemeteries of london - the smiths? etc...I just want them to progress their own style and push their originality.
  21. Yeh, I just think Chris knows best, not Brian Eno or anyone else, well except Will on some occasions :)
  22. haha, thank you!
  23. hmmm, when i first heard the album i thought it was brilliant, i still do but not in the same way as the previous 3. I think the songs dont have as much longevity, except for a few. Its weird because i loved songs like lovers in japan and life in technicolor ii when they first came out but for the last year i have found myself skipping them on my ipod, whereas old coldplay songs sound fresh everytime i hear them. I do feel optimistic (great radiohead song) about LP5 though, mainly because I would love a christmas coldplay song and also because they may be returning to a more acoustic album, this makes me very happy, hopefully no playback or sound fx during songs too.
  24. Hi all, I was just wondering what are peoples opinions of Mr Eno's affect on coldplay's music? Personally I get a feeling of dread whenever I hear of him sending Chris back to the drawing board. I did like VLV but i feel like it wasnt as emotionally charged as the previous albums. Am i alone?
