  1. IMAGINE this performance with a 'fuckup' added in? It just never would have happened! Please Coldplay drop this disingenuous gimmick! If honest mistakes are made (like I believe at Glastonbury 2011) then it's cute, shows their real etc. but if they are deliberate I just think it's so not cool. Of course the fuckups are planned/scripted/intentional. They never used to do it during the earlier tours. It's not like they've got worse at playing their instruments! 2. They look good and that's a really well filmed video! Another tribute band everyone should check out is Coldplace. I think they're even more established than Coldplayer. I've seen them 3 or 4 times now and they always put on a great show.
  3. The guitar toss is fine by me but I really, really dislike these deliberate 'fuck-ups'. I love almost everything Coldplay do but to me it just seems really disingenuous. I understand that due to the nature of the show things have to be planned (ie. the lights and props etc.) but I would appreciate it if the gigs were slightly less scripted. I mean these days we don't even get excited about seeing the setlist from the latest show because we all know the setlist is going to stay the same!
  4. Thanks for this! Great memories over the past year being a Coldplayer :) A lot has happened in the time!
  5. Coldplay invested in Jason's business, so I'm sure this was the intention all along. They want other people to be using them. I'm also glad they kept the Xyloband name, as it gives some ownership to Coldplay over it. Kind of feels weird that it's not just exclusive to Coldplay though...
  6. Coldplay songs can never be overused :smug: I love it when you hear the first notes of a Coldplay song on TV! The Newsroom is great btw. Haven't reached the Fix You episode yet in the UK so I'll be waiting for that!
  7. Thanks! The one on the right I got from eBay I believe, the Viva one in the middle I bought outside Wembley Stadium (it's unofficial), and the huge one on the left was actually used in an advertising thing at a train station..one day I was lucky enough to be at the station when it was being replaced and I asked the man if I could have it! But Coldplay posters do seem generally hard to find. They are never stocked in high street shops like HMV. Someone in the Coldplay marketing department needs to do better!!
  8. Seeing your collection made me want to put all my Coldplay stuff together. Not quite as impressive but here's mine :)
  9. I made this video of Coldplay at the UEA last year with footage found on YouTube from the gig. The idea was to raise a bit of money for charity, which it didn't really do, but I enjoyed making it anyway! 10. THIS IS SO COOL! Can't wait to see where it goes. Would love to get this comics and see a short movie if they make one. However the design from the album doesn't really match the design of the comic...the MX font doesn't match the comic font and the graffiti imagery from the album doesn't match the more cartoony imagery on the comics. Not that it really matters, just thought that it might have been more linked.
  11. Cannot believe some of the answers on here! Some of my favourite Coldplay songs have been mentioned. I HEAR THE SOUND OF THE TICKING OF CLOCKS....A Whisper is great! Chinese Sleep Chant is one of the best things Coldplay have done, and I'm surprised I'd never really discovered A Spell A Rebel Yell before..love it! Anyway here are my least favourites... Lost, Life in Technicolor II, Strawberry Swing, ETIAW, Princess of China, Up In Flames. Still like them all. When it comes to Coldplay criticism everything is relative!
  12. One of the regular t-shirts again! The Bruce Springsteen one this time
  13. Hmm it's a bit too political for my liking. I think the charitable work they do with Oxfam and MTF is fantastic because it's real, achievable and somewhat independent of politics. This might seem like a good idea, but in comparison it's fairytale stuff. The world is complicated, and unless you basically had every government in the world willing to implement this tax then it's going to be difficult. To be fair Chris didn't seem to be hugely pushing it too much in the video, I wouldn't want him to become as political as Tom Morello! But you have to love his constant humour "are you sure this isn't illegal?" :laugh3:
  14. Yep that's it! I like that t-shirt :)
  15. Great thread! Another t-shirt he wears quite a lot is the white Flaming Lips one with the colourful graphic on the front.
  16. AROBTTH played out in its entirety and Charlie Brown played twice? Genius! :laugh3:
  17. The band congratulated Exeter City on the official website when they got promoted a few years ago, so although Chris might not be a huge football fan I'd guess that's who he would support
  18. I'll be waiting for a coach until 4am as well! Are you getting to coach to London then? Megabus or National Express? I'm going to the gig on my own now, after my friend pulled out last minute, so any Coldplayers please feel free to come and have a chat, I'm volunteering for Oxfam and then I'll be wearing a black A Rush Of Blood To The Head t-shirt :)
  19. 4,000 views on YouTube...hardly an 'internet sensation'! Not exactly what I'd call a 'viral'! To me it seems like the Coventry Telegraph are trying to create the video as a viral when it's clearly not. Plus she's not even dancing to Coldplay...
  20. Thanks! Glad you liked them Personally I'm glad they didn't use Mat Whitecross again. Some of his video's aren't bad but they're so obviously made in Final Cut it can look a bit amateurish...
  21. To be fair both support acts were poor. You'd have thought Coldplay could have signed up a few better acts, but unfortunately the choices are due to Chris' questionable music taste at the moment. Both acts struggled to get the crowd interested. Half way through Robyn's set I could hear people moaning all around, and actually when she started one of her final songs there was a collective groan from the crowd! Awkward  But that being said, I had listened to a few of Robyn's songs before hand, so I didn't mind her that much, she's got a few decent pop tunes. But compared to Wembley 2009 the support acts were laughable...
  22. Few screenshots... More, and larger size, screenshots posted here
  23. Firstly to say I've been skeptical of the new poppy direction of the music videos this album (I'm not a big fan of Paradise at all and Charlie Brown was a bit meh in the end), but I really actually quite like this! Considering how bad I thought it was going to be..I actually thought it came out quite classy. There's some really great imagery in there and I like the credits at start and end, which I think fit better in the video than the Paradise and CB credits too. Plus I'm surprised more of the fangirls haven't been going crazy about how good Chris looks in this video! Prime contender for next James Bond I say! :wink3: It's a fair point that the video lacks a plot, and doesn't really develop much as you reach the end, but I agree this is like a film trailer, and I like the fact it's based on the film House of Flying Daggers. PS. Leave the Hardest Part video alone, it's great! :smug:
  24. "Please eat more chocolate and listen to more Coldplay" You can now do both! :D
