  1. omg it's all happening so fast
  2. I really do hate to toot my own horn, but I called that little logo on their new website having relevance when it first launched. I knew it would end up being more than just a temporary thing. It was too clean-cut and professional to be used as an in-between thing.
  3. Not at all. A lot of people have no understand of the depth you can take modular synths. Radiohead has pretty much mastered the art of using them in a fantastic way, but it goes far beyond the whole "beep boop" sound people imagine. I really hope they use them for the final product.
  4. I would never trust anything coming from 'music-news.com'. Every article we've seen this entire year is just regurgitated information.
  5. They know what they're doing. For example, look at Better Call Saul. Breaking Bad was incredible, and the initial response to the spin-off prequel of it was almost all negative, and now the show has proven to be just as amazing as its predecessor. If FTWD fails, so be it. Their main focus is still The Walking Dead and I'm happy to see that.
  6. Sort of, but not really. I've yet to watch it still (ugh), but it's essentially The Walking Dead in a different setting. I can't see the two shows ever mixing.
  7. Oh my goodness. This came out of left field!
  8. What? That's not at all what it means. There are countless albums released that flop. It's not because its a "poppy record", it's because the quality is shit. This has nothing to do with genre. A bad album is a bad album. I don't understand the hatred this site has for pop music.
  9. Coldplay is mentioned on the September Rolling Stone cover for 'must-hear fall albums'! Announcement incoming?
  10. Ahh, you're right. Either way, I'm excited!
  11. He answered in response to this being the cover art, not to it being related to the overall theme of the era. I'm totally convinced the minimalistic, colorful design is going to be a prevelant part of the AHFOD era. We just have a little taste of it right now.
  12. Because apparently pop = bad. Just a note, too. Coldplay isn't the only band to drop B-sides. How many bands even do that now? Sure, it sucks to see them fading away, but this is in no way exclusive to Coldplay. Most of these complaints are hilariously petty, and seem to from from misunderstand the music industry.
  13. I feel like most of us trying to needlessly defend current music are music defeners. Sure, I'm not too big on popular music nowadays, but I also recognize the talent a lot of said artists carry. Chris matured and grew up out of his 'other artists suck' phase, and I'm proud of him for it. He opened up his eyes and stopped looking pretentious. I much prefer 'new' Chris to 'old' Chris.
  14. Wait, wait, wait, wait. WHAT EDIT: Do you mean Capitol Records, or this?
  15. Am I the only one that doesn't feel like the band owes us anything in terms of updates? I mean, yeah, they're neat, but it's not like the band spent the months leading up to previous releases doing nothing but teasing. There is obviously nothing new to share right now, so they don't have anything new to post. The website reveal was a nice enough tease. I'm not sure what we're expecting. I don't understand this. Chris can support whoever he wants too. Justin Bieber had a heap of famous people post in support of his album, and the last thing that post was trying to cater to was the community of Coldplay fans. Why are we all so angry about this? Geez.
  16. Anytime Chris talks about another artist, this place implodes thinking either a) it's a "hint" or b) it's a "sign" of what's to come. C'mon, guys.
  17. Confirmed: we've hit the desperation phase. Coldplay, hurry.
  18. I'm still annoyed that was the only one we got.
  19. I haven't seen the Studiofeed one in years. Thank you!
  20. Wow, I totally forgot about that. Maybe it was just me, but didn't it take a little while before people really started paying attention to the image(s) on the screen? I still find it hard to believe only one person managed to capture a recording of the "original" Princess of China, though. I loved that recording to death. I played it more than any one track premiered during the festival run, despite it's low quality and blaring bass. Now that you mention it, I remember the 'Mylo Xylobrites' thing being discussed, but it just seemed so out there I almost didn't want to think it would be anything. What a neat way to tease the album. Their originality with this sort of stuff is just incredible. Even though Ghost Stories was a pretty nonchalant, I really, really enjoyed the use of three simple gifs. It was complimentary to the era as a whole like you said. I've said since the beginning when they redesigned their website a few months ago that it is somehow going to relate to the design of the era as a whole. It's just too interactive and too fleshed out to be made as a temporary thing. My real wish for AHFOD is that they go back to having fun, colorful loud -- just in a more 'mature' sense than we saw in Mylo Xyloto. I know they're capable of it.
  21. And the irony of it was we completely overlooked MX for the longest time! The Oracle even shut us down on it meaning 'October 10' forever. I remember when all the icons on the redesigned website finally made sense. It was like one big lightbulb turning on. What a moment. Ahh, that sounds so fun! I became a fan the day Viva released, so I had to miss out on that. How long did it take before the album cover was revealed? I vaguely remember seeing four gifs of each of them doing sign language that read 'VIVA' or something like that. Fun Coldplay is the best Coldplay. Me too, man. Me too. I have a good feeling we're gonna get it this time around.
  22. I can't remember either. I feel like it showed up when the videos were being released, because a lot of us went, "What the fuck?" with the clothes they wore. Remember the initial reaction to ETIAW? Newer fans have no idea the amount of backlash that song received. Just insane. You know, everything about the buildup to MX was just insanely fun. I'm honestly not sure if they can ever top it in that regard, personally. The studio video we had in late-2010 was awesome (I'm pretty sure the bass in ETIAW showed up in that backwards, too!) and all the teasing for ETIAW + festivals is just out of this world. Here's to hoping we get some of that this time!
  23. And MX, too. If I remember correctly, the first real sign we saw of the era ahead (besides the YouTube clips of ETIAW) was this image. I'm 90% sure it popped on iTunes out of the blue one day, and shortly thereafter, ETIAW was released.
