  1. Per Apple: (More information here.) The remaining acts will be announced as the week progresses. Though, with the iHeart Radio Festival and Global Citizen Festival right smack between these ten days, will Coldplay still be free to play a gig here?
  2. I bet Coldplay is looking at us all and laughing.
  3. To be fair, Magic was released right at midnight CST. (Maybe 12:30 A.M., I'm not sure.) EDIT: Just kidding. It was right before 10:30 P.M. CST.
  4. I hate try and predict, but I for some reason have a decent feeling about this Monday/this week.
  5. Three days before. They had one gif each day for three days, before they tweeted out the Mongolian tweet like Marc said.
  6. I think that would be good news for the albums' naysayers, then. Of course, it could mean a million different things, but anyone honestly expecting a Ghost Stories 2.0 was gonna be off the mark a bit. EDIT: Here's the link to the audio. (In the final three minutes or so.) She says it's "very, very different" from Ghost Stories.
  7. Oh my God. I completely forgot about that, holy cow. Memories!
  8. He did! X&Y Guy had the same wild hair.
  9. Haha, it's okay! That is indeed Bob Dylan. Specifically, my favorite Dylan -- Blonde on Blonde. ;)
  10. This is what I have been thinking since before Ghost Stories. Like you, I've solemnly believed the tease at the end of True Love's video was our first 'look' at AHFOD. The sound, in my opinion, will be what MX could have been; less crowded and more 'mature' in the style of Viva La Vida. I can hear it with you.
  11. Seriously. It seems like every post is a variation of A Sky Full of Stars, Princess of China, Midnight and Viva La Vida.
  12. God, it's so good. I've always said MX is their best album instrumentally/musically, and Princess of China is proof of that. Anyways, I'm excited for this fall! Fallout 4 and a possible Coldplay single is enough to put me over the moon.
  13. Rik said that, but it was definitely meant as a joke.
  14. This too! [video=youtube;OoqAi8OJ9T0]
  15. Wow, I love this idea! It'd fit with the whole 'central focal point' object they use for their album covers, too. I think more than anything else, I'm most curious to see what art style they go with. If it's anything similar to the website -- minimalistic and vibrant -- I'm really excited. For some reason, I see AROBTTH's art 'matching' with AHFOD!
  16. That always kills me.
  17. You're acting like the band absolutely hates its "true" fans and only wants to cater to an audience that's apparently less of a fan. Chris has repeatedly said they want to make their setlist appeal to anyone who knows one song or twenty songs. Sure, the same setlist got old after a while during MX, but this is a very common thing to do with bands this size. I don't care if you're seeing Springsteen, Radiohead, Bob Dylan, The Who or even The Black Keys -- the vast majority of the audience will not know a good chunk of the songs being played. Why? Because people are willing to spend money to hear the one or two songs they know live. That's the reason why. Coldplay isn't alienating anyone and in no way is it going to leave a negative mark on their legacy unless you're specifically looking for one.
  18. Right? I don't understand that argument whatsoever. It's an incredible song musically, and an alright song all put together. I could legitimately listen to just the music over and over. Without a damn doubt. It would probably be one of the most praised tracks of the post-X&Y days. For those that were here before MX, remember the reception for the original version? I specifically remember almost everyone's most wanted track being Princess of China. Not only that, but people were "called out" for not liking it as much. And it stayed that way until the day Rihanna was announced to be a part of it. Talk about a stigma.
  19. I'd be all over something like that. Their second album was okay at best, but this was probably the standout for me. And now that you mention it, this is sort of what I pictured with AHFOD but couldn't find something to visualize it. Thanks!! :D
  20. What? It's really unpopular opinion, but I cannot stand most of X&Y's B-sides. And it's funny because X&Y is my favorite Coldplay album. Gravity is pretty okay, but Things I Don't Understand and Proof just bore me to tears. How You See The World is great, though. And add Atlas (genuinely hate it), Up In Flames and Charlie Brown to the list too. Princess of China isn't great, but it's good. I would bet that if it didn't have Rihanna, the reception would be much more positive. I actually find myself listening to the instrumental more because I fuckin' love the music itself. I remember thinking how great it sounded when it was Chris-only at the Rock Im premiere. Just all around very well crafted.
  21. But how will the world know my opinion of pop music????
  22. Yeah. At this point, they're just using what is known to the public and using it to look secretive. Tidal is already a joke to everyone else, so releasing something exclusively to them would be outright embarrassing. I've said this since the launch of Apple Music, but I genuinely feel that Coldplay will do something for them. It's a pretty big hit so far, and it's (personally) something I would love to see. But the biggest reason I call BS on this is why on earth would someone that close to the band find a random Chris Martin fan page on Tumblr to leak the news? I just do not get it. I'm not saying Coldplaying is the biggest place either, but at least makes more sense in context.
  23. Our Lord and Savior in 2011. Previous to this post, we had only wild speculation to the title for LP5, so this was like reading a foreign language. I legitimately remember that night like it was yesterday. It came from nowhere, and within just a few hours, all the pieces of art we'd seen for the past two months suddenly connected. To say the board was electric is an understatement. I'm gonna put my tinfoil hat on and say that's Mark 'Spike' Stent who helped produce Mylo Xyloto. He has never posted since that event, and I don't believe he posted before. And before him, we actually had a guy around Viva and before the launch of ETIAW. I can't remember his name, but he hasn't posted since mid-2011. He would post very detailed information about future releases -- in small tidbits. And anytime he'd post, we knew something was coming soon. He'd answer questions and was always 100% correct. I'm not sure what happened to him, but those guys were the best.
  24. Oh. Ugh, I wish we could hear those lost and forgotten AROBTTH tracks. Thank you, though!!
