Who is this?

Midwest buddies.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Yup, I've always thought this. It makes sense considering the quick turn around from GS to AHFOD.
-
LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I understand that, yeah. I never understood the complaint that MX was too electronic or whatever, because like you said, it was pretty much an experimental album (that, in my opinion, worked very well). I do hope AHFOD is less polished all around.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I mean no offense, but 'real' instruments just doesn't make sense. All of Ghost Stories and Mylo Xyloto were overflowing with instruments they've used since the beginning, mixed with things they hadn't messed with before. They never went away. (Not being rude, I swear!) I'm remaining cautiously optimistic about tomorrow. My new theory is that we'll get an official announcement of the single/upcoming album either right after the show or on Saturday.

***Coldplay Member Elimination Game***
Whoops, my bad! I vote for Chris as well.

***Coldplay Member Elimination Game***
I thought this was called the ***Coldplaying Member Elimination Game*** and was like omg this should be fun. (Phil gets my vote though.)

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Don't forget such classics as: happy with the song, angry with the song, unsure of how to feel about the song and the good ol', "I'm so done with Coldplay. Like for real this time."

Your Hopes + Dreams for LP7
I guess I could see that, yeah. It's certainly very Johnny Cash-ish for obvious reasons.

Your Hopes + Dreams for LP7
When did they attempt a country-themed song? I'm curious.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
So you've heard the song already, then? I'm cautiously optimistic for this Friday. Not because of the song, but because there's a good chance nothing official won't come right away or even this month. All these rumors we've seen don't say anything new (which is expected) and go off previous assumptions. I just can't see Coldplay playing this show without having a reason to be there.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
People are making assumptions off of pictures. Don't worry. As far as no information coming out, I guarantee everyone present either signed a form or something similar. Secrecy is very much a thing still, and I'm sure the band made some nice measures to ensure nothing would leak out. They've done this before.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
lol, true. I'm still so thankful the reaction to Magic/Midnight wasn't as crazy as with ETIAW. That was just nuts. (Fun times though.)

'Facts' =/= 'Ramblings'.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Yup. There was a user here a few days ago who proudly boasted how they already knew what the song sounds like, so it was a-okay to judge the music video too, because the future had already been already seen. Why is this a thing on this site? I don't get it. We have so many circlejerk's over Mylo Xyloto and Ghost Stories, that it feels like if you do like either (or both!), you'll be put on a pedestal. I totally get the hype for the upcoming album, but it's beyond disappointing to see ten new pages of people talking shit about old albums and songs, with maybe a few posts of actual discussion. Yes, this is an open forum, but there are dedicated sections for whatever topic is at hand. Don't like Mylo Xyloto? Great! That's your opinion. But don't post it in a thread about A Head Full of fuckin' Dreams. I love the entertainment this site brings sometimes, but the constant complaining can be too much. Woah, woah, what? Stop your lies.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Nope. The full lineup has already been announced.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I really enjoy MX too. It's far from my favorite album, but I love the creativity. People always praise Viva as their most experimental time, but Mylo was the biggest step they have ever taken. Ever. Eno was nice to have as an influence and mentor, but I love that they basically used their own discretion for Mylo Xyloto. Did anyone ever think they would actually use synths, or collaborations or 'pop' music? Nope, but Coldplay took the chance and ended up doing very well, if not better than before. But of course I do have issues with the album. And no, it's not Princess of China or Paradise. I've said since day one that MX is their absolute best album in terms of just the music. Just give the instrumentals one listen and tell me otherwise. My only real complaint is how oversaturated parts of the album are. Charlie Brown comes to mind first, and so does the intro to Us Against The World. The band as a whole is not stupid, so they recognize the faults with the album, and that's why I feel like AHFOD is going to be what Mylo Xyloto could have been. Does that mean the album will be a clone? Nope. But I do feel relieved they're continuing the happy theme, because it works well for them no matter what anyone wants to argue. I'm excited as fuck for this album, but I wish the knee-jerk reactions would come to an end because we literally do not have any idea what the album will sound like right now.

Preach.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Holy shit, they grilled Chris. Yikes.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
What are the numbers we're supposed to look for that refer to newer registrations, again? I saw you post them earlier.

Thoughts on recent "Dreams" news.
They actually never said that. People came to their own conclusions and it went from there. I'm really excited. Coldplay is best when they are loud and having fun. I think that's partially why Ghost Stories was such a change in tone (aside from the obvious background behind it). Since 2000, we'd seen the band have fun and tour relentlessly, so to see them being so hush-hush was just weird. Like others have pointed out, Coldplay doesn't make the same album twice. And frankly, anyone judging the album in advance based off of pictures full of color needs to tone it down. Plus, I can't help but think this album might have some sort of Indian-like sound for some of it which would be incredibly cool. (It even fits Chris' comment about shuffling your feet a bit!)

I should note the Lamhein has been in the ASCAP directory for a long time, and is supposedly another artist sampling some song from MX. That's not from the video, (un?)fortunately. Reverse searching the image brings up 192 results. http://www.tineye.com/search/dda4e39b6e991f3dca19a273907681431454d5a4/?pluginver=safari-1.1

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Yeah, we won't get anything official today or tomorrow or even this week. However, this does mean the single is finished otherwise they wouldn't be shooting this (obviously). For those around before MX, wasn't there some sort of leak about ETIAW? I could have sworn we were aware of the ETIAW video shoot to some degree before the single dropped. Anyone know how long the time period was?

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I mean, not really. Apple TV has been around for ages. EDIT: I just realized that was sarcastic. Whoops! I know it's being discussed, but what context clues can we take out of the pictures we've seen? Implanting some sort of Indian-style sound would be neat!

I love the new Apple TV.
