Totally agree. I love everything about X&Y. By far my favorite album. I would love a more mature X&Y-ish sound for a future record, even if it were just a couple of songs.

I feel a lot of the scrapped MX songs might make it to LP7. They seemed very different from the rest of the album -- and we all know how Coldplay loves to rework old material.

This thread is so melodramatic. I agree with what Ben Affleck, I mean Batman, said. I miss their old ways of keeping us updated, but not so much their old sound. Everything is good for a season, then it needs to be upgraded.

I'm honestly thinking it's going to be in this direction. I mean, we have Waltz in B Minor as a potential song title, Chris talking about Chopin (which may not mean anything of course, but still!), and now we have news about horns and strings being used. It'll most definitely be in a different way than we're expecting still, but I'm excited for the chance it may be classical-esque. My other theory is this: when Chris talked about it being the end of something, I sincerely believe he's talking about the themed, artsy albums. And I don't just mean with music, but with covers too. Viva was classical paintings, MX was graffiti and Ghost Stories was etches -- so will LP7 be the final art-themed album? I have no doubt the cover will still have a large focal point with a few mixed colors behind it, or perhaps a more detailed background. I swear, if LP7 has an Art Deco theme, I will lose it. I suppose it doesn't match the classical time period (by a couple hundred years), but it always looks cool as fuck. But seeing as Viva used artwork from the Romanticism era, I doubt they'd go back to that exact time in history for art.

Nah, it has to be an accordion. I went back and listened to it closely a few times, and it sounds pretty clear after a little bit. Admittedly, it's hard to decipher.

Wow. This is so much better than Believe it's ridiculous. While Believe was almost something right out of Coldplay's catalogue, this is something of their own and I like it!

What's up with the bitterness? We genuinely have no idea what LP7 will sound like, or if AHFOD is even the final title. Sometimes I'm convinced Coldplay fans *want* them to release shitty material so it can properly be made fun of. We still have a while to go until an announcement is made. Let's just enjoy the fact recording is happening, because it should be another fun ride.
