  1. One thing I really, really want again are fuckin cool song titles. Say what you will about MX, but it had some of the neatest titles of their entire discography.
  2. I don't think it will drop out of nowhere, but I do think the announcement and release will be within a very short amount of time.
  3. Sorry, that came off as rude. I didn't mean for it to be! I like Miracles enough, but wouldn't want an entire album sounding like it. For me, I just enjoyed it because the "big" sound was back that we had missing for Ghost Stories. The blandness, though. No thanks.
  4. Poppy =/= bad. Seriously! I loved those gifs the week leading up to it, before the final, "Coming at midnight." tweet. And now that I'm posting this, I just realized it's now been two albums in a row we've gotten gifs to tease the start of a new era. I wonder if they'll do it again for AHFOD?
  5. Dude, it was a song for a movie. Do you really think they put in their best effort for that?
  6. I really, really enjoyed Miracles when it came out. Though standalone tracks can't represent an entire alum, I completely agree it's a sign of more instrumentation. (And yes, "real drums", which is still the most silly argument I've seen on this website.) The thing that really sparked my interest with that song - something for a movie - is how it felt "like Coldplay" more than 95% of Ghost Stories did. I don't really know how to describe it. Probably the energy and guitar. Albeit, it is still a movie song, so I hope no one thinks Coldplay put their best work into something for an average film. But, to me, hearing the loud-style Coldplay back after an album that was very quiet and very minimal was such a nice thing to hear. And that convinces me even more we're going to be pleasantly surprised with AHFOD. More than we realize, I think we miss the arena-style sound they pretty much created. Even if there are elements of pop, who gives a shit? Don't look for things to moan about, look for things you'll like and enjoy. I hope this board will not disregard an album or song because of its genre.
  7. That is a legendary picture. Thank you for this.
  8. Yeah I know. But like you said, a minimum of nine, not a maximum. All our rampant speculation is eating us up. :(
  9. ??? I don't see how you're getting that. Just because they've only finished eight songs doesn't mean they're aiming for a small track list.
  10. I think most the internet hates them at this point. They are everywhere and won't stop showing up on everything.
  11. Look at this! Jars of Clay, new actors, and a very, very 90's video.
  12. THANK YOU lil wacky tic tacs
  13. Now we're just looking for things to worry about. It's going to be okay, guys.
  14. I adore True Love. The break at the end does a terrific job of giving a sound to heartbreak. I didn't like it on first listen, but it's one of the highlights of Ghost Stories for me.
  15. (I'm trying to be optimistic, but) what if they're coming back to do some final mixing? I seem to remember MX and GS releasing their first single without the album finalized just yey.
  16. Well, I meant what the context was (sorry!). How does it relate to AHFOD?
  17. What's that tweet about?
  18. Jamie xx's In Colour is absolutely phenomenal. It's been mentioned before, but damn. I'm constantly amazed by it.
  19. I actually just got promoted to editor-in-chief at Pitchfork.
  20. Oh God, yes please. :dazzled:
  21. I don't know if it will be danceable, but if their first singles have taught us anything, it's that it's going to get decent success. Then all of the sudden, the second single comes out of nowhere and becomes a chart topper! I can't wait.
  22. I love Coldplay, I do, but their 'generic' setlist has always been really bland.
  23. Coldplay would be the laughing stock of the music industry if they did that. If they'd release it with anyone, I can see it being on Apple Music. It's very, very good so far. Many artists are already taking advantage of what is being offered, and as we all know, Coldplay has a pretty great relationship with Apple. I'm not saying it will be exclusive or anything, but I can see Coldplay giving priority to Apple Music over other streaming services.
  24. I feel like we'll have our first single in November, with the album dropping around the end of February.
