[17-Apr-2012] Coldplay @ Rexall Place, Edmonton, AB, Canada
Think I'm ok with Rihanna on a video screen, not sure how I feel about the drums being a back track. And with the song already being so techno it kinda seems like karaoke.

Changes in live performances from now
Last year when I saw them in Johannesburg they played 'Till Kingdom Come' in stead of 'Us Against the World'. I think it's likely they'll play it again in this tour.

First Coldplay Song You Ever Heard?
Don't Panic, back in primary school. My brother always made me mixed CDs to listen to in the playground at lunchtime. The song came up and for months I listened to it without even knowing who the song was by.

Major Minus: LISTENING PARTY! Countdown to Thursday 23rd June, 9pm (BST)
5 minutes!!!!!!!!

The Video
Hmmmm... Major Minus as a B-side... Does this mean Major Minus won't be on the album? Or won't be a single by itself? Cause that would be crazy! Also I'm suuuuper excited about the itunes bundle with the 'additional tracks'!!! That means we'll have more than three new songs!!! That's almost like an E.P. Here's a thought: right about now CP are deciding which tracks should go on the album and which ones shouldn't... maybe the additional tracks on the itunes bundle (that will be announced next week) are going to be those that didn't make the album???

[4-June-2011] Coldplay @ Rock am Ring: Nürburgring, Germany (Live Stream links in 1st post)
Hhmmmm yeah. You have to wonder though... how much did this guy know about Coldplay and maybe the end of the festivals and the start of the proper shows mark the approximate date for LP5's release? Oracle has just again pointed out that LP5 will be released in autumn. If Coldplay are indeed doing things in this way I think this will pretty much end up being their most brilliantly produced album yet.

Not sure if I should be posting this here... or if it's been posted before- but I think I might have found the approximate date for LP5's release. You guys know how Coldplay are only doing true Coldplay shows (not festivals) when they perform in South Africa this year? I followed the news for that cause I'm going to see them there. In this article: http://www.sowetanlive.co.za/entertainment/2011/05/10/coldplay-heads-for-sa Attie van Wyk, the guy that negotiated with Coldplay to come to South Africa, said Coldplay will be releasing their album the same week that they'll be performing in South Afirca. "The concerts will be held in the same week that Coldplay release its fifth album, Van Wyk said." That's between the 3rd and 9th of October... EDIT: well it's live-shows related so I suppose I can post it here!

Charlie Brown has had nearly 10 000 views on youtube and not one dislike yet!!! So have the others. The comments have been great too. One person said 'This album should be called 'Coldplay's Greatest Hits'!!!!

Anyone else noticed that every band member has that radio transmitter logo on their jackets? Under that picture there are three nearly readable words (starting with M)??? I'm also thinking maybe the pictures on those large circular badges (with the spirally squiggly lines) could be the album cover. I THINK the first two words are "Major Minus". But the third... media? motiva? motha? It's driving me nuts. Also I must say I'm really getting excited about this album now. The songs we've heard so far are great... but I get this funny feeling Coldplay haven't revealed the best tracks for the album just yet... I haven't seen Guy play the Mandolin-banjo yet (apparently there's a song in which he plays that in a funny way) and we're yet to hear the song about UFO's.

And yeah I Hurts Like Heaven is my favourite also. I really hope its a single. Like last time Cemeteries of London was my favourite off the whole album but it never got a video... :-(

I agree about that song's name... Charlie Brown isn't a bad name... But CARTOON HEART just sounds so beautiful... and suites the song better I think. I sort of hope they see that fans like the latter name better and rename it! Dunno if any one else has posted this... but here are some pics from the live show: http://www.swr3.de/specials/rockamring2011/__inc/gallery/ddgal.php?v=gal3&x=aa968850a9d255494612acd0552f8fcd

They only played 6 new ones. What roadie #42 said: "I imagine that the "slightly unfamiliar" vibe wasn't just limited to us folks. There was a fair chunk of new material tonight - a whole six songs of it - only one tune of which anyone in the audience stood any chance of having heard before. " And I should also say this is gonna be their best album by far. Seems like they've really mixed it up. I see X&Y elements in 'Every Teardrop', ARUSHofBLOOD elements in 'Charlie Brown', Viva in 'Princess of China', Parachutes in 'Us Against the World'. And Charlie Brown is definitely gonna be one of those songs that people will remember for a long time...
