To me this is one of the happiest eras so far! I am very very far from depressed.. I love all the new stuff(yes even ETIAW and Para, para. At first I wasn't super fond of Paradise, but man how it has grown on me!) What I love about Coldplay is they have something for every mood and moment in my life. At this moment I'm happier then I've ever been, I've triumphed a lot of obstacles in my life and just married the girl of my dreams. Do you know how invigorating it is to sing and dance to ETIAW when you've been through hell and made it out on top? Do people not understand how amazing it is to nod your head to paradise while cruising in your car? Sure they may not have as much emotional weight as previous work, but when hard times come I'll just pop in Parachutes or AROBTTH or X&Y and enjoy them for what they are and always will be, uplifting and emotional. All in all I enjoy all of Coldplay's work for different reasons and am very excited for the new album! Also for all the haters, here's a tip, go away, come back AFTER you've heard the album and give your opinion then, if you still hate it, then don't ever listen to it again and wait for LP6 or forget coldplay and move on.. simple.

^ This.. (not saying I don't love the new songs, just be nice to hear some classics besides the singles) How about Daylight? Love that song live and would die happy i they ever played it again..

OK.. My first impression, last night I listened to it half asleep on my laptops speakers and I shared the feelings of a few others, repetitive and not all that mind blowing like R#42 had said at all.. Today over a breakfast of eggs and bacon and a pair of headphones I realize that I like it A LOT. The simplicity is gorgeous, and the ending is epic in a different way, not typical coldplay with the super climax at the end, just a simple riff with a few perfectly played notes and then it's over. It leaves you wanting more and I think it will flow perfectly into the next song on the album. Not as good as MTM, but I'll reserve final judgment till I hear studio version, good job boys.

I absolutely love how respectful you are when you talk about possibly being disappointed in the new album. You are one of the few on here you isn't fond of the new material (ETIAW + Paradise) or of there new marketing techniques who manages to get there point and opinion across without sounding utterly condescending and rude. That being said, I have no business here cause I love there new stuff and I will definitely see them if they come anywhere in Texas! Just had to drop my 2 cents in..

I love the artwork! And its refreshing to read a thread that isnt about how awful paradise is, or a thread with people getting all offended cause people are insulting paradise! For however brief a moment i enjoyed a fans artwork that feels like it belongs on a fansite. A very coldplay moment for me, sincere and innocent :)

I'm sorry but I just don't understand how the TS doesn't have a right to make this thread, yet the 500 threads about how horrible the new material is have not been threatened to be merged? It seems your opinion on MX is getting getting in the way of your duties as a mod. I see about three MX love threads at the most on the front page, I can't even count how many negative ones I've seen pop up. He has not forbid anyone from entering this thread, just so long as they have something nice to say, that's the topic of his thread. If they haven't a nice thing to say, why post at all? Why have you posted at all? Just to show your dislike of threads like these? I just don't understand, maybe you won't answer me, but perhaps someone with far superior intellect then myself can explain this. OT, I love the new material, especially charlie brown! I don't think it will be my favorite album, (VIVA) but probably top 3.. guess I have to hear the whole thing before I make my final judgement.. Great thread:) Edit: P.S I do think the TS went a little too far saying he would report someone for hating, it is a forum, you can't punish someone for expressing themselves, I'd say just ignore whoever does hate here, since it's not on topic anyway, they'll go away ;)

I love this song, the intro, the chorus, the vocals, the guitar riff at the end (although I wish we got more johnny!) I feel so happy inside listening to this song.. I'm very excited for the rest of the album cause I think we are going to get a lot of different sounds.. I'm also very happy that I'm not the only one who thinks it's a very good song! We love you Coldplay!

Ill definitely enjoy some beer andpizza while listening for the first time with my wife! :-D

(Ok, I thought about putting this in the live section, but it just wouldn't get any attention there, on top of that, Live performances have pretty much been Mylo Xyloto, so it relates to the album, and if I'm wrong then I apologize to the mods in advance!) This may be another useless or meaningless thread, but I was just wondering, What do you guys and gals think is the best live performance of each of the new songs?(Mainly HLH, CB and UATW, since we don't have studio versions for over a month!) I would like to know your opinions cause I want to download the best version/quality to jam out on my ipod to. (Until Mylo Xyloto comes out of course!) Post links, videos or whatever you like and why you like it!

Paradise, and Up in Flames, just cause of what the article said about it being very bass heavy!

To be honest from what we've heard so far, I don't think I could be disappointed! The only thing that would let me down is if they didn't play a show in Texas, which I'm sure they will! :D ( I'm not including ACL, I mean a show from their proper tour)

Well considering I live about 20 min from zilker park, I probably won't need the plane tickets! Lol, but I would probably die if I won this. Just got married and me and my wife are HUGE coldplay fans, so it would be the best wedding gift ever! I hope at least a coldplayer wins!

I really hope this means something! I'm getting married on thursday, and getting some kind of news the day before would be such a good gift for me and my fiancee, we love coldplay! Man I just cant take all this waiting and wondering anymore!

You really are a voice of reason aren't you? I think people just want lots of new music, and don't give much regard to the album flowing correctly. But for those people, I'm pretty sure we'll get an EP after LP5 is released with more of the material that didn't make the album. After VLV I have no doubt the boys will put out a great and completely coherent album, with or without the songs we've heard so far.
