  1. It's not- assumption. And I'm sure I'm not the only person who takes things negative about their favorite band worse than negative things about themselves. Never said that- assumption. AGAIN. I praise them because they are my favorite band and all I ever hear where I live is people railing on them and how much they absolutely suck. How gay they are, how talent-less they are. How they could never compare to Lil Wayne, Drake or Eminem, Taylor Swift, the Zac Brown Band, or Sugarland. ALL. DAY. LONG. And no human being or whatever else you want to say is perfect. No...? Did you read what I said? I said acoustic. There is a difference. AGAIN. No. Seriously. Did you read my comment at ALL? I never said it IS. I said it SHOULD BE. And I was kidding. God. Fine. All you did the whole time was assume things and misquote me so. That works. Agreed. By that definition it certainly is... as is almost every other song ever made according to that. Good to know.
  2. Okay good. And hahaha! Good one. :D I would if I did. ;) Sadly no such luck. But it's awesome enough in it's own right I think- and I won't be too surprised if this actually did end up being the cover you know.
  3. This is the key phrase. I should've made a point to say how I basically meant pop artists since the early 90's and especially recently. But notice how I only mentioned those of today. I thought that kind of gave it away as to what I was referring to. Then again I suppose we all don't have crystal balls. "I'm not gonna take it back. I'm not gonna say I don't mean that." Some agree and some don't with what I've said. And that's fine. You have a right to disagree. But I don't regret anything I've said here and I won't apologize for it. No. It's not. What would you consider alternative rock? Do all alternative rock songs have to be miserable and brooding and sad? That's what you make it seem like. Because that's what Coldplay did before and now that they turned happy and joyous everyone makes it out to be a felony. As if alt. rock songs can't be happy or optimistic. How isn't it? It's no less alternative than Muse. And yes, I consider Muse to be as well. Just because you have electronic elements in your music doesn't mean you can't be alternative. Again. I meant pop songs from the past two decades, this one especially. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I've never been so offended in my life!! Even Satriani claiming Coldplay ripped him off wasn't this offensive! First off most of their songs are deep and heartfelt like I said. You're taking the whole band down with one piece of lyrics from ONE SONG. That's very fair of you. I didn't say every single song was, just IN GENERAL. They're not perfect you know. And no, it couldn't be an nsync song. It's not written for young girls to get 'excited' over. I'm pretty sure you're forgetting that part. It's not even close. Chris was never the greatest lyricist ever. But their music isn't 95% about trying to get adolescent girls turned on like nysnc's is. Which is completely disgusting on their part by the way. And I can't believe anyone has the audacity to compare the two. And nsync don't even WRITE THEIR OWN SONGS.. So how you can even write something like that is beyond me. :veryangry2: Second. This " Even the Backstreet boys have songs with electric guitars so that doesn't mean anything" I really hope no one in Coldplay ever sees this. Especially Jonny. Because I imagine he'd be just as distraught to see such a mediocre comparison as I am. And how any fan of them could say something like that. This is worse than The New York Times tearing apart Chris' lyrics. This is worse than any Coldplay criticism I've ever heard in my life. I'd rather be called gay (from the retarded 40 YOV joke) than have people compare them to Backstreet Boys or nysync for that matter! If you're trying to say their about as alt. rock as BB then that is completely ridiculous. There's a better word for it but I'm so in shock right now I can't even think of it...It should be illegal to make this kind of allusion!!! If people don't agree with me that's fine. Not everyone loves the band as much as I do and I am very aware of that from the past two months I've been on this site. But this isn't even a matter of agreement. The COMPARISONS. These are just the most unbelievable, unrealistic, uncouth comparisons I've ever heard of anything in my entire life. :bomb: Maybe not. But their whole reason, like I said before, isn't to get people to like it like so many pop artists do today. They're partially worried about whether THEIR FANS will like it!! As is natural. But! Not how many #1 hit's their going to get and how many weeks they're on the Billboard charts and all of that garbage. Not how many 12 year old girls and 13 year old boys will absolutely beg their Mom's and Dad's to get this for them. Because that's what nysnc and the Backstreet Boys do. Their whole reason for making music certainly isn't to make the best sounding music they can like Coldplay's is. I can tell you that right now. That's completely preposterous!
  4. lol wow. I always forget about that section! And my wordddddd! This show is amazing! Thank you sooo much! :D
  5. I don't know if I'm the only one who ever greatly misjudged a Coldplay song or any song for that matter (probably not) but I just feel so bad about it. So basically, this goes back to the release of ViVoDaAHF. I remember going through the whole album a few times and listening to each song. Except Yes. Which I never even listened through once. As soon as i heard Chris's vocals, which I despised, I gave up on it immediately and never listened to it again. :| Fast-forward to a few days ago. I was reading through the "My concerns" thread. One comment which particularly caught my attention was ColdplayfromKansas (which was really epic btw), and one specific part: And I just thought "what is she talking about?" So I went to listen to the song for the first time in three years and was stunned. The vocals really aren't that bad, and the wickedly-flavored melody is nothing short of incredible!! Like seriously. I don't see how I overlooked that. The lyrics are fantastic and venture out to places I never would've expected from them "Saying 'Lord lead me not into temptation' but it's so hard when she turns you on" which isn't necessarily a bad thing. :P It's creative "So up they picked me by the big toe" and clever (i think anyway) "night makes a fool of us in daylight" pieces of lyricism don't hurt either. (; I'm so glad I gave this song another chance (thank you ColdplayingfromKansas btw! :) ) and I'm both very reluctant and sad to have gone 3 years without this great Coldplay song! Never fall victim to a closed mind my friends. :| It'll keep you from amazing things! I'm sorry for every doubting/shunning you, 'Yes', I really am! :( And I'm sorry if this seems pointless. It's just something I had to get off my chest.
  6. hahaha No I mean I have it as my Fb profile pic. :] No lie. That cool? And. I would but a lot of other peeps already have the walking guy as their pic. Ya know. Ohhh. I get you.
  7. Damnnn. They took this off of YouTube!! I never got to see it besides the list of songs that came out of it. :/ Is there any other way to see it?
  8. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way! And. We seem to agree on a lot of things. lol
  9. Is it cool if the top picture is my profile pic? :] lol nah. We know. (: It's just fun to speculate. I hope you're tracklist isn't right. Well, mostly the "Drunks and Guns" part because I just never liked the vibe that song gave off. That and "Sex Violence." I really hope those songs aren't on the album. Thisss. Good call.
  10. Since no one's really touched on this I gotta say. And it's nothing against you personally man. I just never heard of Coldplay going to countries that are largely controlled, i.e. communist. I mean Cuba, North Korea, China (besides that one Hong Kong show). They've never played in those countries, you know? It may be a coincidence but hey. Maybe they just haven't gotten there for some other reason? Not big enough venues maybe? Not really sure. Seems like an odd 'coincidence' though man. I'm sorry that they haven't come there regardless though. :|
  11. I own this bass!!!! Well not literally. But I do. You know what I mean ;DD I sure hope it's not. D: It rocks my world. And lmao wow. This is pretty weird. If you look all the way at the bottom on the right and turn your computer sideways it looks like it says "TiTs" on it. Wth? :S In fact it looks like there's a lot of, well, Mnemonics on his bass. This makes me wonder if some people could be right two. I also recall a lot of similar weird letter combinations on the PoC screen.
  12. I really don't think it will be called "Massive Xylobrytes". Doesn't seem possible. However... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4stzGUJACZo]YouTube - ‪Princess of China - Coldplay [HD] - Rock im Park 2011 (title of new album spoiled?!)‬‏[/ame] 2:09-2:14 has me very worried that this album name will be dreadful... :anxious:
  13. Aww. I feel your pain. :| lol It's awful isn't it? Well awful in a lovely way. If that makes any sense. And yeah, imagine? That would really suck. :S I really agree with this. Do you mean tracklist instead of setlisth though? I thought maybe you used the wrong word but "I Might be Wrong" instead though. :P
  14. I don't even know. I suppose that could be true. :S I just wish that secretive rule would go away and that we would know more about LP5. And disregard that last thing. I couldn't stay away. :embarrassed: It's not just the band and the music anymore. This site has become an addiction for me.
  15. Exactly. I'm done with this. No more checking into Coldplaying.com every 30 minutes hoping for a miracle. Unliked their Fb page (until next weekend), not going to go on their twitter. You won't hear from me at all again until next Saturday. I'm completely cutting myself off from every outlet where news about them breaks. I understand they still have some stuff left to do. But 'a few weeks'? How many is that? Four? Five? They said by the end of '09, then end of '10, and now. Chris said two weeks, a week ago. It's always being pushed back. This new album stuff has become an obsession and a really disappointing/hair-pulling one at that. I almost feel like it's never going to be finished at all. Is a tracklist and album title so much to ask? See everyone a week from now. Word to that.
  16. Why does everyone keep calling it a "pop" song? Just because Coldplay is a popular band doesn't make it pop. No, not in my view anyway. Though it is JUST mine and everyone has theirs. :P When I think of pop I think of Katy Perry, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, the Black Eyed Peas, Ke$ha, artists like that. Artists who have that 'signature' sound that is commercial garbage and are all sellouts for the most part. Coldplay is nothing like that. Even ETIAW isn't like that, despite what people say. Most pop songs today don't feature acoustic guitars, insane riffs, and "face-melting" (I don't know who came up with that but I still love it!) bass, plus it hardly even has a chorus. Charlie Brown is no more than a great alternative rock song as far as I'm concerned. I mean there's less sonic landscapes, less violins, less synthesizer sounds on these new songs than Viva at any rate. And Coldplay write songs with raw and deep, heartfelt meaning to them. Hardly any (if any at all) pop artists do that. Coldplay's not out for the money or the #1 singles. They're out to make the best damn music they can and go places they're never gone before to fulfill their talents to the fullest extent. Even the vocal part on Major Minus isn't really pop- it serves an intrinsic purpose, creating the alienation and creepy, "somebody's watching me" vibe to the song.
  17. Ah. You think so? :| I'd disagree I mean. It's not like the Beatles own the word Soul. By that logic no one can really use the word "Soul" in their album title at all, you know? Seems wrong to let a band have a monopoly of a word like that. hahahahah This is no doubt the funniest thing I've seen all day! :]]] That you sir. And you make a really good point. No doubt! [: I could definitely see that as a possibly. Very good suggestion! The whole explanation is very cohesive and reasonable. I wouldn't be at all surprised if you were right. I just really hope Chris was kidding about the 'hard to spell' thing and just teasing us fans about the whole M X............ that's being tossed about.
  18. We haven't received a large amount of information on the title of the latest album and I think there's only so much we can speculate on with the info we have (hopefully this will change in about 6 hours though!!). Since there is only so much we can speculate on with the info we have presently, I got an idea. I was reading about something (another great artist I listen to :P ) Five for Fighting did back in 2009. He let the fans suggest different titles for his new album and from his favorites of those had the fans vote on the best title. IF Coldplay were to do this, hypothetically speaking, what title What would YOU suggest for an album title? Why? I've always been a traditionalist in terms of album names; I love how Coldplay always name their albums after a song on the album itself (or two in the case of VlVorDaAHF). But. If I had the choice, I would say "Spray Can Soul." For one thing it's a really great lyric in Hurts Like Heaven, which supposedly with start off the album with MX. Also, it goes so well with the whole graffiti theme and what Coldplay have been doing with the artworks and the ETIAW video. I really love the whole idea of LP5 from what we've heard and I think that title works perfectly (besides the UFO part of it I mean. :|). It may not fit ideally with the supposed cover (Walking Man) but otherwise I think it would be a very clever, and well-fit moniker for the new album. [:
  19. Thanks again. [: And WOW, I never knew you could do that!!! it's really cool and helpful. (: Gracias.
  20. Alright to the first. Wasn't sure. Second. There are a lot of words that are hard to spell. I never said the album had to be MX. But Xylobrytes certainly isn't the only word that's not easy to spell out there. In fact, maybe he was just kidding. Maybe by saying it's hard to spell he meant it was really easy. Heirgo- MX. Chris is weird sometimes. [: Just like he said it would be a Jazz album with a lot of weird chanting. It sort of is and isn't. And that's not a bad point. I just don't see how it relates to the album as a whole. Or why it would be the title, as in what significance does it have to everything we have and haven't heard so far? But I could be wrong, I'm just wondering. I don't think they would make something an album title if it didn't have intrinsic relevance to the work as a whole.
  21. Damn dude that is so many possibilities that's impossible to even narrow down. [: haha And, well I know that Chris said awhile back that it started with M, probably 2 words or something along those lines. But that was a long time ago. So many things have changed since then and even the oracle said a month ago or so (I believe) they hadn't decided on a name yet. What if MX stands for something else though? Why must it be an acronym? It's MX not M.X.. Why would they keep that one JUST an acronym. They wouldn't have painted it on Chris's piano as "MX" if it was actually a secret acronym. Seriously. I don't think it is one at all. They didn't do that with any of the other songs. Maybe they changed the title to be the same as one of the songs we haven't heard. Or one we have perhaps as well. They always name the album after a song after all.
  22. Yeah. I could see that. Well hopefully he will say SOMETHING about the album. Chris is known to refrain from saying much about new material in interviews and often people just don't ask the right questions. He did give us a timetable on the last interview though. [: That's a good sign. You're probably right. One or two spots on the album they're not sure about I imagine. I can't wait to see what songs will make it though. I don't know why but I love that part almost as much as hearing the music itself. Staring at the titles, committing them to memory, imagining what the songs will sound like, how long they'll be, etc. Me neither. I think all of Coldplay's titles are oddities though. Especially the last one. So it wouldn't exactly surprise me. But!! All of them (besides Parachutes) really captured the feeling of the album and the overarching theme of what they were trying to get across. I don't see what this one has to do with anything. foxeh posted something that Xylobrites related to Xylophones (which did help thank you :) ) but that doesn't say anything about the theme in the songs? How do Xylophones relate to the White Rose movement, rebellion, and UFO's? They don't. At all. Just because Coldplay use them in MX/Hurts Like Heaven doesn't mean it should be the title. :P It just plain doesn't work. And everyone said VlVoDAaHF would be Famous Old Painters or 42 or whatever. And X&Y was supposed to be Zero Theory. We'll never know what the title is until they tell us I don't think.
  23. It's been a week since the June 29th interview!!! What do you guys think? Just one more week to go or...? haha I'm going to say it's likely they'll still take more time then that to finish. :P idk. But we'll see. Hoping I'm wrong. [:
  24. Something has me thinking there's a really good chance "Car Kids" will be on the album. The "CK" on Chris's pants in a photo I saw, the "CK" on the colorful piano he's been playing live, and the "Car Kids" logo on the back of one the shirts he was wearing. am I the only one under this impression? It seems, in this way as prominent as any of the songs if not more so, even compared to Major Minus, the only difference being we haven't heard it yet. I keep thinking about the title and I can't come up with how there would be a song called that. I can't imagine how they would craft a great song or a song period from a title as bizarre as that. Although I said the same thing about Strawberry Swing and Cemeteries of London before they came out ( :P ) so I guess I can't really say much in that way. [:
  25. That's possible. But you know, now that I think about it- it really could make sense. :idea2: Because the raindrop loses the river when it's evaporated back out from it and up into the atmosphere to make clouds. You know?
