  1. Okay. I mean 85 minutes might be a bit long and that wouldn't fit on a single CD. BUT! I would love if the album was 65-70 minutes long. :] And Eno is an awesome producer for the most part but screw him when it comes to the album length! He's there to give them advice and make them think outside the box, not act as a totalitarian dictator and tell Coldplay how long their albums have to be. Three of his own five most recent albums were over 70 minutes long. He has no right to tell them how long to make the album, just like he can't tell them what instruments they have to play or what songs have to be on the album; it's stupid to constrict the multifarious and multifaceted talents Coldplay possess. It's ridiculous. It's hypocritical. And it's not his jurisdiction. I thought he was supposedly less involved on this one than VlVoDaAHF btw? Unrelated but I had a dream last night about LP5 news and I was really sad. :/ Coldplay had said the album would be 34 minutes besides ETIAW, so only 38 minutes in total... That's ridic. :| They're made all that music and are supposed to release something under 42 minutes? Ugh. :(
  2. 1. Moving to Mars 2. Charlie Brown 3. Us Against the World 4. MX/Hurts Like Heaven 5. Major Minus 6. Every Teardrop is a Waterfall All the songs are amazing!! Especially 1-4. ;P But they're all great without a doubt I'm really liking what I'm hearing!! [: It's scary to think that if all the songs are this good something could actually beat ARBH as my favorite album. :S Can't really judge Princess of China yet because the quality is pretty dreadful. Although it's also better than nothing so I can't complain. :P Great bass. Great synth. Can't really tell much else. Moving to Mars wins though. :D
  3. They are really nice! I love the extension of Wedding Bells you did btw!! :D These shoes would be amazing. I think the shirts they make with Coldplay stuff on them are already really cool though. But I would really love that. Coldplay hats, shirts, pants, boxers, socks, shoes. Okay that might be a bit much. :P But that would be really really awesome all the same I think!! [[[:
  4. It's nice to hear Coldplay going out on a limb and trying something they haven't done before. [: Besides, I don't think it sounds bad at all. Abd, It's not unrecognizable or going nearly as far as say, maybe Kid A? It definitely seems a progression of sorts though. And technology isn't a bad thing so why not do a little experimentation here and there? That is what making new music is all about, right?
  5. M/Mutagenic/?/... Xylobrytes. What the heck is that? That's not even a word. Ask any search engine and they'll tell you. So why would that be the name? Ridiculous. Sorry. But really? :P Xylophones A word clearly. But there's no way they're going to name it after an instrument. And actually I can't say that because I don't know for sure but that's so unlike them I think. Although, I know people are speculating and anxious to find out every little detail [: But. I remember when X&Y was "Zero Theory" and VlVoDaAHF was "Famous Old Painters". We never know the real title until they tell us what it is. That's just the way it goes, you know? And I mean I don't even think that's what MX stands for. Especially not the first one! The second is possible maybe idk. Musical Xylophones or something like that? NO idea. But it could just stand for something and not be an acronym. MX is actually a song by an incredible band I was introduced not too long ago- Deftones (irrelevant but :P). And mX is also a free daily newspaper in Australia. Maybe that's why they have the newspaper thing on the website? Just speculation. If I'm being honest I don't think it's going to be something insanely long and not pertaining to absolutely nothing like what a lot of people are suggesting. Although everyone has a right to their opinion so they can guess what they want. (; They haven't even decided on a name I thought the oracle or someone in an interview had said? The one with Guy and Will was it? I believe so. I imagine they're going to stick with tradition and name it after a song and somehow include some over arching meaning. I don't think MX is what it's going to be despite the big patch. I think it's going to be, I'm thinking, a title we don't know. Although for some reason I absolutely love the idea of Moving to Mars being the title because of the UFO correlation and the alienation and isolation and everything and the amazing cover that would go along. But I'm not holding my breath. I still think it's going to be named after a song that makes it on the album though. Regardless of what one it is.
  6. Back to Coldplay; aka the amazing reason we're all together here in the first place? :P The lyrics are definitely incomplete but they don't sound bad from the little we got from this. I mean the thing is we don't even know what songs are going to be on there and that's kind of the frustrating part. Even if you see lyrics that seem incredible up there on the screen or even with the mind-blowing; Charlie Brown, Us Against the World, Hurts Like Heaven, Moving to Mars, and amazing; Major Minus, Every Teardrop is a Waterfall songs that's not all of them plus we don't even know if THOSE will be on there. We don't have much of an inclination any way about it except ETIAW is a single and Charlie Brown gets really good reception from fans at concerts (as it should ;P) which I imagine bodes well for it's album chances. But it's really confusing. And in a way it's like being back at "Square One" except of course with really really good music to listen to. :D But not much more info than what we had months ago it would seem. I was really hoping we'd get a tracklisting by nowww. But patience is a virtue and waiting will be worth it I'm sure. :)
  7. Actually I noticed this as soon as the guitar-y/drums part comes in during the middle of the song. It's how I've been persuading my friends who like older music to listen to it. :P I think it's a nod to them maybe in a way but I like it better than most of what PF does. No doubt. Plus isn't on that huge conglomeration of songs that influenced Coldplay a big font of Comfortably Numb? And they drew some comparisons on ARBH I remember. But Coldplay is more like other bands than Floyd I'd say.
  8. I admire your bravery my fellow Coldplayer. :) Especially considering all the things people have been saying about it for the last month. I really don't think it's half as bad as some people to make it out to be. ;P And no one should have a thread with 0 replies. Seriously. That's bunk.
  9. Moving to Mars is so incredible it's hard to put into wordss!! I kind of hope it will be on the album even if that might mean one less new song. Major Minus is awesome and I'm not sure whether or not it should be on there. It's a toss up for me. Every Teardrop is a pretty good song although I don't know that it should be on the album. Maybe it should stay a single/ EP as it is. That being said I read someone saying it was like the BEP and other commercial music? I don't see it. Epic guitar. Finally a bass i can hear and an incredible one at that. Love the falsetto in the parts Chris uses it. All it needs is a little bit better lyrics and less synth I think ;P Anyway, it's not really that commercial. There's barely even a chorus. And why the sudden backlash? What about Lost! ? There was a freaking hip-hop (sorta) beat on that sucker. I mean way more original than most but all the same. Awesome song but just saying. That's far more commercial than anything i can see in this song. And the collab. with Jay-Z? If people think they're going commercial i think they're missing some important things Coldplay has done in the past. Then again that beat thing is also just my opinion. :) And they're still not collaborating with anyone. Besides maybe the guy with the Pierces who I've never heard of so they can't be that commercial I don't think? They didn't bring in Timbaland to produce. Or Swiss Beats. They didn't hire lyricists to write their lyrics. So you know what? I'd say they're are definitely clear of the commercial bit as it stands. And I'm glad of it. :) Sorry. I always do long posts. It's a habit. :P
  10. Nuggets. :] Coldplay wins all day every day. Especially this past week, just amazing central for these guys! Can't get enough of them!! Best concert I've ever seen, tv or not!) hands downnnn. Welcome to Crazy Epic City! Population; COLDPLAY. :') Band=focus. Fellow C-players=meh. Different thread. Actually idk if there is one specifically for disagreements/mediation/general catharsis. There should be though. [:
  11. Parents/family in general. Anddd. The ETIAW EP not being available here stillll! :|
  12. Watching the Glasto concert!!! Coldplay was phenomenal. They haven't lost an ounce of their talent in these past 12-13 years! :D And graduating from hs was also exciting/awesome. :]
  13. Shouldn't this be in the LP5 section? Just a thought. And i would absolutely love that. Incredible really. I mean I don't think you can go wrong with Coldplay- there's never "too much" as far as I'm concerned. If this interview is confirmed and everything, the only thing I'm wondering is if Chris/Will said that seriously or tongue-in-cheek because you know how they can be sometimes. (; And wouldn't it HAVE to be a double album in that case? I thought a CD could only hold 80 minutes of music.
  14. Yes. This. This. This. This. :] Project Serpo allusion. Def.! :D
  15. I also find it very cool how none of the songs really have choruses for the most part. I think it counters the idea some people have suggested (if I'm not mistaken) that because of ETIAW they're supposedly going in a more pop/commercial bs direction. All a lot of music popular these days seems to be built around a heavy chorus that is repetitive and contains the song's title. Coldplay haven't done that on these new songs and I think that's awesome. [: Originality my friends (if I may call you that :) ). A hard quality to find these days. But they've still got it!
  16. OH. I just knew the fact they did not the whole story. Thanks though! That's really interesting. :) Now if I ever mention that to a fellow Coldplay fan for whatever reason I'll know why it actually is that way.
  17. don't be! We're being lumped in with Japan! :D They always get the albums first when they come out. Not just because of the time but two or three days before even the UK and US, they did with VlVADAAHF anyway. And. Whenever albums come out, like Parachutes and X&Y, Japan's been the only country to get bonus tracks included where other places in the world didn't. I think this is a potentially awesome thing for us! [: And I could be overreacting a bit here but. There's nothing I don't love about this song and nothing I could possible add to make it any better. I love everything. The piano. The guitar. The bass. The drums. The violin. The deep baritone. The mid range. The falsetto. The Project Serpo deal at the end (which was a complete mind-blow for me they'd pull out an epic allusion like that). This song is just so damn beautiful I can't even adequately put it into words. I want to cry at every listen. I mean not even two weeks ago, could it be? I heard ETIAW and it's not dreadful but it was just kinda good/pretty good and I thought. Oh no! Could this be their 'jump the shark' moment? But it wasn't!! ETIAW sounded a decent bit better after a dozen listens. The live songs are all fantastic- especially Charlie Brown and Us Against the World. The Major Minus studio version I loved and was a great song. Definitely on par with what I'd expect from my favorite band. And then they pull this number out and wow! I love the Viva songs don't get me wrong. Many of them are incredible and behind ARBH it's my second favorite album. But as it stands this could be the best song I've ever heard. I mean behind Clocks, The Scientist, and maybe Talk as well. But still top 5. No lie! :D
  18. I'm starting to wonder if Guy is the mastermind behind the (epic on this song anyway) voice change-deal. :wink3: He's the producer master out of them four no? And it sounds similar in ways to what they do in some of Apparatjik's songs (Especially the "Who knows when we'll be coming home at last". Just several times better. :D The higher vocal parts also remind me of Amsterdam for some reason. CAN'T. STOP. HITTING. PLAY. TOO. GOOD. TO. RESIST!
  19. My opinion: Lil Wayne could never do something this amazing. Ever. Ever ever ever. But you have a right to yours as well. :)
  20. I'm started to think maybe this isn't the only MTM song? I mean. Maybe this album will have 3 beginning with M's just like the other one's had 3 of other letters. Then again there's no guarantee Major Minus or Moving to Mars will be on the album either so. I don't know. Maybe MTM is the name of the guitar and the lead is on a different song. Or maybe they decided to take it out.
  21. It just doesn't feel right downloading Coldplay's music for free though. :/ They're so talented and they work so hard for the living they make. Although I guess if you still buy it on iTunes then it's not as big of a deal. And who WOULDN'T buy the album? It sounds like it's going to be mind-blowing!
  22. This song is absolutely incredibleeee!! No my friend, you are not! It sounds like he's saying "Serpo" at the end, which has certain implications. This would directly correlate to the 1997 conspiracy theory of the government being involved with aliens without our notice, dubbed "Project Serpo." The idea basically goes that at the 1947 Roswell UFO Incident, they confiscated shreds of a shattered alien ship and a few bodies at the sitel. This is supported by several workers at the base who aren't just UFO-fanatics but credible sources. The alien species was from the constellation in Zeta Reticuli and the government has been working with them ever since the 50's and that's partially where we've been getting the ideas for our ever-developing technology and weaponry. There was an interview they conducted at the base with a supposed "alien" from that same crash. I've seen it on YouTube and specials on it as well. Whether or not you believe it is up to you. The one thing I will say though, is the interview seems legitimate and has been declared as such by some experts in the video field. Sorry for the weird (and possibly psycho) connection. Hope this helps! Gives me big goosebumps and watery eyes every time i listen to the end. P.S. On the special I remember seeing. There is a geographical area on Mars that looks exactly like the shape Zeta Reticuli does from Earth's skies. Now that's just plain weird!!
  23. No. I mean I see it. Similar sound. Johnny G's goes. ja-ja...ja-ja. And Jonny B's goes. ja-ja-ja-ja without the pause. Great riff though either way.
