The Black Keys, new album called Turn Blue
Any other Black Keys fans out here? I absolutely love their new album Turn Blue, and how they're experimenting with different styles/moods/themes. What about you guys? :D

Parachutes vs. Ghost Stories!
Round 1: Don't Panic vs Always In My Head Round 2: Magic vs Trouble Round 3: Ink vs Shiver Round 4: True Love vs High Speed Round 5: Midnight vs Sparks Round 6: Another's Arms vs Spies Round 7: Oceans vs We Never Change Round 8: A Sky Full Of Stars vs Yellow Round 9: O (Fly on) vs Everything's Not Lost <- I simply can't choose between these two :( Final verdict : Parachutes 5 - 3 Ghost Stories Parachutes also sounds better overall. Tracks are more interconnected.

Rank Coldplay's 6 Studio Albums
1. Viva La Vida (Prospekt's March EP aswell) - Like most of you here, VLV killed it with every track. And I absolutely love the Prospekt EP! 2. A Rush of Blood to the Head - AROBTTH is obviously brilliant, but I have to give credit to VLV as I believe it's a significant turning point in their musical career. 3. Parachutes - For an album that was released in the early 00's it deserves to take the third spot. Why? Because it's gorgeous! 4. Ghost Stories - I've been looping the album all week and I'm really enjoying it a lot! Still not as good as Parachutes though. 5. Mylo Xyloto - Coming up with something new after VLV was a tall order and Coldplay did take it to a different level. I enjoyed the colourful synths and all but personally prefer more acoustically produced music. 6. X & Y - Like the album, especially The Hardest Part! But someone has to take the 6th spot.

Midnight appreciation thread
It's the most haunting song in the album IMO. Really fits the whole "Ghost Stories" title. By the way, does anyone know if Chris is using a vocoder for this track?

I have nothing to do at work at the moment, so I'm constantly studying all these new tracks :D Obsession scale would prolly be... 7

Mylo Xyloto vs Ghost stories
1. Always In My Head 2. Paradise (Very close though) 3. Charlie Brown 4. True Love 5. MMIX/ETIAW (That drop... Not comparable) 6. Major Minus 7. Oceans (Uhhh! Super tough choice) 8. A Sky Full of Stars 9. I... Can't... It's a tie :| MX 4 - 4 Ghost Stories. I'll need a penalty shoot-out to break this draw. I only started listen to GH two days ago. So, I am surprised by this outcome... :stunned:

Viva La Vida vs. Ghost Stories
I completely agree with you on this. They experimented so much more during that time, probably because of Brian Eno. Not to mention there were tonnes of unreleased tracks like Spanish Rain, Famous Old Painters, etc. Way more versatile in my opinion. But nevertheless, after several replays of GH, here's my take: Round 1: Life In Technicolour (I think the polyphonic music here wins it for me. No other song out there sounds like LiT. Musical creativity wins.) Round 2: Cemeteries of London (Another's Arms is my least favourite in the album. Not that I dislike it!) Round 3: Magic (My love for Magic has grown and it out passed my admiration for Lost!. Would probably be a tie if we were talking about Lost?) Round 4: 42 (No match here. 42 is one of the most under appreciated tracks and it deserves more recognition!) Round 5: Lovers In Japan (Similar elements to LiT, very colourful tones. Beats Ink by miles) Round 6: Viva La Vida (I like EDM, but I can hear Jerusalem Bells a'ringing :D) Round 7: Violet Hill (This one's tough. I like Midnight a lot but I have always loved Violet Hill and it's rock elements. VH wins this round) Round 8: Strawberry Swing (Another close one, because Oceans is my most favourite track on the album. SS just gives this feeling of hope and happiness, and that beats the sorrowful Oceans tune for me) Round 9: Death And All His Friends (Very difficult choice. I admire the lyrics and intro to O, however I must go for DAAHF. It personally just sounds more complete and those off beat rhythms... No other band does that.) Yes, I am a huge VLV fan :D But I do hope Ghost Stories grows on me more!

The "I Cried When I Listened To O" Thread
The lyrics on this song is killer good! I really felt the emotion in this song especially with what Chris is going through now, but no tears :\ Also looking forward to the reprise version! Maybe that'll make me tear

O piano cover
Very nice! Was there some sort of post processing in the audio? Feels like there were some chorus effect or reverb in there somewhere

Oceans
Am I the only one here who thinks that the chords in Oceans sounds awfully too familiar? I believe it has the same progression as Atlas in a way...
