Chris is so hard to hear! Bass distortion, anyone? :P Your lyrics look good as far as I can tell, although we'll have to wait for a better quality video to be sure (hopefully from Venice tomorrow :sneaky: ) EDIT: Also, I'm in love from 2:19-2:20 :wacky: The first time I heard it I started jumping up and down and about knocked over a lamp :awesome:

Major Minus
 A lot of non-Coldplayers seem to like it, and I think it's just a fun little summer song that they can play at festivals to get the crowd going.

Coldplay: Greatest downfall in the history of music?
ColdplayingfromKansas replied to Josh42's topic in Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (Single, EP & video)No, no, that's fine. I was just putting a thought out there, not trying to target you (or anyone else) personally. :)

Haha, I showed up last year, so I'm way too late for any of that

Princess of China
It WILL be awesome . . . but I've been thinking--do you think the guys might release an EP before LP5 with all of these songs on it? That way, we get studio recordings of HLH, Poc, UAtW, etc. and still get a full album of completely new songs. . . . . Actually, I'd almost prefer that they do that :awesome:

^ Same here. The fact that I like the low-quality recording has me all excited for the actual studio version (if we ever hear it, that is :freak:)

F5 Madness! Live Blog time (Venice, Thursday) [aka continuing voyages of the F5 abusers!] // MEGAPOL
Woo! I'll be one of those newbies! I was here when they did the live blog for Christmas Lights, but things were moving so fast I had no idea what was going on!

LP5 going to be awesome or epic?
Maybe all of these new songs are actually b-sides and the actual songs will be mind-blowingly epic :wink3:

Hurts Like Heaven
MX could be a hidden track of sorts for HLH--except that it comes at the beginning instead of the end I think it could be a better opening than CB if they keep MX at the beginning--it would give the opening a LiT feel :)

^ And those last few lines of Major Minus that no one seems to understand  Echoes + Chris' falsetto + various background instruments = No Comprende

Lyrics (page 2 onwards)
I think it may be "As the room is spinning it glows" since "We're glowing in the dark" is repeated several times Still have no idea about the second-to-last line, though

Not even Us Against The World? :( But it's so . . . . . . Parachutes-y :P

Aww, you won't be part of the madness! That sucks :( I'll let you know if anything important happens

LP5 going to be awesome or epic?
Ah, well Spies is good, too ! Yep. Cemeteries and Violet Hill were the best tracks on Viva (although the fangirl in me thinks that Chris' voice on Yes was absolutely flippin' fantastic! :P )

LP5 going to be awesome or epic?
THIS. Coldplay's darkest songs are their best (and, unfortunately, their most underrated)

Exactly. Personally, I'm hoping they break with EMI after their contract ends and either get picked up by another (read: better) label or go solo We're getting very far off topic with this discussion :awesome:

Hurts Like Heaven
What did they open with during the Parachutes days? o.o But since the guys don't have a final tracklisting, it could be a song that we haven't heard yet

Cool, thanks. The first one seems to be working :)

Hurts Like Heaven
They NEED to start opening with Politik again (with the intro they used in the Live 2003 DVD and the countdown from X&Y days included, of course) :wacky:

[5-Aug-2011] Coldplay @ Lollapalooza Festival, Chicago
What is this--I don't even . . . . WHY would anyone think that slating Coldplay and Muse at the same time would be a good idea?! Oh Chicago . . . so close, yet so far away :uhoh: and I don't think I can convince my parents that driving for 6 hours and camping out in front of a stage all day would be an awesome experience

Coldplay: Greatest downfall in the history of music?
ColdplayingfromKansas replied to Josh42's topic in Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (Single, EP & video)THIS. I have a nagging feeling that few of the "haters" (and I use this term very loosely) dislike the song mainly because it sounds like a typical pop song. Yes, the first few lines of ETiaW could be better, but I think the rest of the song is a very nice example of how it feels to tune out the world and just immerse yourself in your favorite song. It's very uplifting and has a happy tone to it--a nice change from songs that usually carry a "woe all is lost/but all isn't lost" vibe.

First
True. I hadn't thought of that--but EMI no doubt earned some money through just the hype of the tour; it probably helped loads with Viva's sales
