LP8 Thread - Everyday Life
That's what I would have said back in 2010, until Rihanna.... (Oh and Big Sean, and X-Factor, Beyonce, and X-Marks the Spot)

Random Coldplay thoughts...
I always get the chills when listening to U2's song Iris (Hold Me Close) and hearing Chris's ambient noises intro and all over the refrain. There's something very distinct in Chris's voice, I guess that's one of the reasons I fell in love with Coldplay in the first place:)

I feel you... I really liked Annabelle (didn't know her before) and they really seemed like a great couple together. I always hoped that Chris would find someone who isn't actually a celebrity though (like the rest of the band), I always thought that would work best for him, but hell, who am I to judge...

LP8 Thread - Everyday Life
Wow, we'll be the first posts in this thread... Imagine how this thread will look like in 2-3 years? I wonder how I will look back upon this wonderful time of the AHFOD era, even though I hope they return more to their roots. I think they should take a real hiatus for at least 1-2 years before going into the studio again. They urgently need to re-evaluate the direction they want to go and where they want to be with the next album.

Ah nice! I was hoping they would change some bits (lyric-wise and less la-la-la's perhaps). And Chris's vocals weren't at his best to say the least the first time. Fingers crossed for a better performance then :)

~*~ The Official Will Champion Appreciation Thread ~*~
Omg the video is gone! I watched the first 40 minutes and I was totally hooked (since I'm a drummer myself), and Will gives a lot of insights into the production of Coldplay's live shows.. But now the video is deleted... please did anyone get hold of the video before it got deleted? (PM me!) Edit: nevermind, I already found it!

Noel Gallagher
Yeah I was thinking exactly the same, a lot of AHFOD references here haha. And I'm very excited to hear his new music, it sounds very different from what we are used to! The first two albums were great, but easily gets repetitive...

===The ultimate Oldplaying Thread===S, BS, TBR, P, AROBTTH, X&Y, VLV, PM===
I was just watching this and thinking: oh man what I would give to be in that crowd listening to that music again. For me, both liking their new and old songs I do slightly prefer the old ways of performing. I mean, the xylobands, balloons, fireworks and confetti are awesome... but just look at this crowd going crazy with just the four of them playing an awesome tune. No need for anything else. I also often think Jonny, Guy and Will were enjoying themselves more back then (even during MX) than they are doing now. Just look at the way they move around on the stage. These days Guy and Jonny have become quite invisible (without moving a lot) and the show seems to revolve around Chris more and more.

A L I E N S
There are more differences: The timing is slightly different from the part ''Watching my life, on the skyline'', followed by a different order of lyrics ''Oh we just want to get home again'' is sung twice in the Spotify version while it's only sung once in the youtube version. The Spotify version is slightly shorter. I don't know why there are two different versions (doesn't seem like a radio edit). I like the Spotify version better. These differences start here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=we-LaiQNY5s;m=3;s=18 And compare this to the Spotify version ;)

Coldplay Soundcheck Mystery Songs Thread
So related to the mystery songs, two weeks ago in Brussels we had a spot near the C-stage. We could clearly photograph all the guitars stored underneath, but that's when we found something very interesting: inside the guitar storage box there were some printed list taped on the back. The lists contained songnames, and the guitar tunings. However, there are at least (100?) songs on there, in case they decide to play one of these. The thing is, there are also songs on that list that I've never even heard of before, or are already known as unreleased/mystery songs. I will not post the entire list here, since I don't know if that would be the right thing to do. I will post an excerpt: [spoiler=Picture] 2 versions of Up&Up, 3 of U.F.O? Wedding Bells and two mistery songs: Tomorrow and Vampire Symphony.

How do you get setlists?
As Chris would say ''Can I have a plectrum danke schön bitte''? :joy:

Random Coldplay thoughts...
So I will never forget 22 June 2017: I went to see the boys both days in Brussels. First day up front, second between the B and C stage... In the break after AOAL they walked towards the C stage (which was actually really close to the B stage) and I screamed their names and put my hand out to reach them. No luck. However after playing IMP, Don't Panic and UATW(beautiful version) I screamed JONNY a couple of times, he must have heard it! Btw, it's funny to hear their instruments for real, since there is a huge delay in what you hear from the boxes and what they're playing. So then it happened, they walked back to the main stage, I screamed all their names when they walked by and reached out to them. Didn't manage to touch Guy. But I did manage to pat Will and Chris on their backs (OMG). However, when J walked by he heard me scream, turned his head, smiled at me, and shook my hand (SHOCK). Never gonna wash my hands again. So, a short sum up of my evening. As it was the second night for me, we arrived much later than the 21st. This time managed a spot right between the B and C stage. Exactly in the middle of their walking path (you can see the lines on the floor). The concert started 21.10, but the atmosphere was much better than yesterday (when I stood up front). Could have been because it was less hot today, or maybe I was just lucky with the people around me. So they started playing their regular setlist, up until I spotted Jonny picking up his red Les Paul and I was like: OMG THEY'RE PLAYINY VIOLET HILL [emoji33][emoji33] (quite funny because earlier on I was telling someone how Violet Hill was my fav song). However hardly anyone (were I stood) knew the song, while the four of us and two other die-hards next to us went crazy (shoutout to you two guys if you're reading this!) And if that wasn't enough, they played GPASUYF right after :dead: Chris messed up Charlie Brown, and he restarted the song [emoji23] The magic happened during AOAL, I wasn't paying attention and we were suddenly pushed out of the way by security. That's when I knew I had to push my way towards their path. In the break they walked towards the C stage (which was actually really close to the B stage) and I screamed their names and put my hand out to reach them. No luck. However after playing IMP, Don't Panic and UATW(beautiful version) I screamed JONNY a couple of times, he must have heard it! Does anyone think they will hand out 'free' water? Since it's gonna be so freaking hot, and I think there are certain guidelines regarding large scale events in such (extreme) circumstances...
