  1. The annoying thing is that you keep blaming Brian Eno when he isn't the producer of this song, nor is credited as a composer.
  2. You call someone retarded and make stupid assumptions about them and then ask something and say thanks. Now that's funny.
  3. Even The Beatles are repetitive... CAN'T BUY ME LOOOOOOOOVE and so on. xD I still think that repetitiveness isn't bad at all, and songs have always been repetitive, it's part of music, now it just looks like an easy excuse to say the new material is bad. Also, I still can't hear "wawawawaawawa" in ETIAW, just wa-a-a-a-a-a, but whatever...

Yeah, when they started to play Viva la Vida live, you could only hear the drums and the strings backing track. Now they do the main strings part with keyboards and loop it. I think they learned that they should play most of the instrumentation live, even when the studio version has instruments that can't be played live. I have nothing against backing tracks, though. They've been using them since AROBTTH I think (at least for Politik) And although this is a bit off-topic, I'd love if they do a special concert someday with a orchestra/real strings (I think they played Politik that way at the Grammy's)
  5. Just an example:
  6. YOU haven't :) But this board is full of people who have
  7. It makes me laugh that others say that is their worst album when they haven't listened to it at least once... (I agree with you that it's too early to say that, though)

    Yeah, you're right
  9. isrlns replied to LetsTalk212's topic in Paradise
    Clocks was played later
  10. The band invited a group of people (10 I think?) to listen to the full finished album.
  11. isrlns replied to Jedi Leo's topic in Paradise
I actually thought that the first time I listened to the studio version, but since I'm not a native speaker I thought I was wrong after reading the lyrics posted here... Both make sense though
  12. isrlns replied to LetsTalk212's topic in Paradise
Also, I think it's only "para-paradise", the second paradise is like an echo or something, Chris doesn't sing it.
  13. Ooooh, oooooh, oooooh, yeah, oooooh, oooooh, yeah, oooooooh, ooooh yeah, everything's not lost I don't think that songs that are repetitive are bad, I think that they're that way for a reason, specially sad songs. It's like the person who's singing them is trying to convince you of something. It's kind of reassuring somehow...
  14. If you preorder the album on iTunes you get Paradise instantly, and then you don't have to pay for it again (the other songs on the album will download on 24th October, and until that happens, Paradise stays as a Single with its own artwork). :)
  15. I agree Everything's Not Lost is way better, but I think that what's more deep about the song (and what really makes me feel good when I listen to it) it's the repetitiveness, not the lyrics in the beginning. I was just trying to say that (to me!) it's not a valid argument against the song to say that it's too repetitive. And also, yeah, I prefer Paradise even though people on this forum seem to dislike it (at least some of them, if you see the Polls I think that 70% of people have rated it 6+). But I also think that ETIAW fits really well before Major Minus
  16. I'm starting to think that this song is about suicide. I know it sounds fucking ridiculous since the lyrics are so simple you can't find a real meaning at all, but it's what it comes to my mind when I listen to it... I'm always wrong about song meanings, so whatever xD
  17. This. Coldplay have been commercial since Yellow, for fucks sake
  18. I'm not saying that it's not present on Trouble, I say that on Paradise there is a proper riff, so it's more prominent. When you talk with someone about Trouble the electric guitar is not the first thing you mention. Y punto. xD (I obviously prefer Trouble over Paradise, just saying that you don't have to hear everything on every single song)
  19. From what I've read on Coldplay.com Brian Eno isn't the producer of Mylo Xyloto, Markus Dravs, Daniel Green and Rik Simpson are. Eno helped with composition and added effects/sound escapes and such things, I guess... (http://coldplay.com/newsdetail.php?id=771&page=0)
  20. The problem is that saying "The new songs are bad" is as arrogant as saying "the new songs are great". You can like them or you can hate them, but you can't say (well, you can do whatever you want xD) that THEY JUST ARE THE WORST or THEY JUST ARE THE BEST. That's childish. We're all adults here and we all know what we like and what not. If you say that a song is bad, you're saying that your taste is what matters, and that those who like it just don't know what real music is.
  21. Certainly Glass of Water is my favourite song from the Viva era. As for Rainy Day, that's not autotune lol. What you can here there is Chris' voice recorded multiple times in different pitch and mixed. And it sounds great to me. I love how the lyrics are so random that they make sense.
  22. I just don't understand those complaining about it being too repetitive. It looks like no one listened to Everything's Not Lost (probably one of the best songs on Parachutes)...
  23. I can hear more Jonny on Paradise than on Trouble.
  24. You can't decide if you like a song or an album the first time you listen to it. It's not that easy. A song that you like on the first listen... well, you may love it later but you can also hate it in a week. A song that you think is "meh" the first time you listen to it, may become your favorite. It's not that people are trying hard to like it, it's that they're smart enough to know that you can't judge music on the first listen (or even before, like some people are doing with the Rihanna-Princess of China thing).
  25. I really like the vocal effects after analyzing the lyrics. The song has a paranoia/conspiracy feel, and the vocals sound as if Chris was singing it trough a phone to warn you about "them" going after you. I think it fits really well. And also, if you look at the tracklist, it's after ETIAW, it's like ruining a happy part of a movie with a sudden script twist.
