  1. Ink is nice. I get such a Viva vibe from it
  2. Wow, check out their concert filmed at Brixton academy, which you can watch in full hd from their website: http://bombaybicycleclubmusic.com/ Brilliant and so divers: beautiful, happy, rocky, dancable, euphoria moments. They have got it all. Jack Steadman is a really talented guy.
  3. I am quite amazed that 65% gave this song a 8-10 rating. I guess most people are quite young on this forum? So hmm maybe I'm just getting too old lol! I've been listening to them for a long time and they are confusing me since MX. With getting older, I feel my taste in music has been getting better, but Coldplay seems to be making more and more simple music for younger generations. Years back they were my 'proper music band'. That feeling is kind of slipping away (I'm sorry!) the more tracks they are making like Paradise, POC and this one. They really have changed, they used to be a band that disliked most of the crap music in the charts, they wanted to bring something better. Now Chris Martin is talking about Justin Bieber :o, Katy Perry, One direction etc . These 'hittracks' are also not exactly considered as Coldplay classics, so I wonder if they still want to write a song like Clocks/Yellow/Viva that is just so memorable, 25 years from now on still are big favourites from many people. Appearing in top 2000 charts etc. Also I'm wondering when he says: 'some people will like it, some people wont'. So, what about those people that have been buying all the albums, went to concerts and still are supporting the band.. does he really think that an older fan will like a Coldplay with a housebeat.. Everytime I went to a concert of them I loved the diversity of ages of the people, 18 year old, many 20s, 30s, and there would be 40/50 year olds here and there as well (like my mum!). I'm afraid the older generation will not be so excited anymore to go, thinking Coldplays concerts are turning into dance party's. Now, this song: I don't listen to EDM, bombastic house beats is something I just don't really like. So it sounds like another top 40 house/dance song to me which I would skip usually when it comes on the radio. But, I do (secretly) like every teardrop. So, i do like these songs that just give you great energy, this ultimate feeling of happiness. But I believe they could have still made this song that 'happy', without this avicii, without these house synths whatever they are called. Its Jonny's guitar at the end that gives me the thrills, but it's avicii production that annoys me. And especially on this more restraint sounding album, how does this song fit. Same with Princess of china, didn't understand what the song was doing on the album. Oh well, I hope this is again, like POC a one off thing. I'm glad that there are tracks like oceans and O on this album. So it's just the big hitsingles that aren't for me anymore. I hope one day they'll make a hitsingle that is not typical top 40 music, but that's unique, with a more pure non overproduced sound, real piano etc... which then will become a real Coldplay classic :)
  4. Exactly.. this ain't Coldplay to me. Just too easy way like this to make a hit.. there are many songs like this. And it's all about making a hit song. Will they ever be more aternative?... sigh..

  7. Nice and sweet but so so simple. I like the quiet start of the song, but the 'and I dont and I don't' reminds me of music I've heard before. It's so safe and not creative to me, and even a bit boring and I like boring! I looove all the Coldplay songs that some would call boring. I like simplicity, but this is just too much of an easy catchy pop track. The song stayed in my head after only the first listen. As soon as I here the guitar I feel it becomes something more, and more Coldplay, but still.. It's not exactly a song I will keep listening to for years. I hope the rest is more creative and interesting like Midnight. Not that the whole album should sound like Midnight, but just some more originality/creativity, I miss that in Magic. Lyrics same story.. does Chris want his lyrics to be criticized even more? I dont understand that..

Same here :) I was like omg, what am I hearing.. Now I hear him clearly and the whole song with that sound of his voice brings a great atmosphere. I feel this song.. It doesnt seem dance to me. I don't like dance/trance music. It's too airy, atmospher-y and minimalistic to be dance. It's very electronic but to me it sounds very real and honest. Beautiful melody too. Magic is sweet, but I believe one of the most simple songs they ever wrote. A huge contrast indeed.
  9. Just discovered the band Temples. Their debut album 'Sun Structures' is out next month.
  10. Love BBC. Their 2nd single 'Luna' from the new album is great: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwlgC-jSPTk]Bombay Bicycle Club - Luna (Official Video) - YouTube[/ame]
  11. Where is the new Bombay Bicycle Club? Exciting release :) "So Long, See You Tomorrow". Out at the end of this month.
  12. No, I also don't think that's their intention. They like change, and they are influenced by more popular commercial music (Rihanna/jayz etc.). In the beginning Indie bands like Radiohead were there main influence. But they are more commercial now anyway, that's how they come across, most people share that opinion. Not that it's a bad thing. I love the Viva album, which has a much bigger commercial sound. But at this point after Mylo it would be the perfect time to go back to the old Coldplay, back to there sober melancholic sound that just had such unique quality. Less para para polished music. Yes, another a rush of blood album would be so brilliant!! 'fingers crossed'..
  13. Music thats more commercial sells more.. Coldplays music now is more commercial than in 2003.. There music has changed so much.. adding a rnb singer thats very popular.. They do like big success.
  14. I would like to say: focus on making a great album and not on how to sell the most copies or to stay the longest in the charts/nr 1.. Quality over quantity please!
  15. :shocked2::shocked2: wowie, reminds me of my dads band
  16. Great :D still no full Johnny be goode? :\
  17. Oh this is really cool.:stunned: He sounds brilliant, Coldplay should do this at their concerts :) The 'older' fans will love it! I hope someone has filmed the whole song
  18. Artists (everyone actually) get a lower/deeper voice when they get older.. His voice is more beautiful in the low register now, because of that.
  19. Nice I love the sober/melancholic sound with the more uplifting and heavenly chorus. The singing in the verses does sound kinda dry, but I think that it sounds really great in the first verse, taking you back to the older more acoustic songs. I love that simple beginning. Just his voice with piano is a always a golden combination. Have listened to it many times now, still think that moving to mars and us against the world are better songs, melody wise, but overall it's a very nice song, the chorus is quite simple, but the uplifting feeling from the music is strong. And I'm glad it's not that overproduced like many of the MX songs. I hope they're planning to go for a bit darker and deeper sound, like moving to mars. I give it an 8.
  20. Finally a more sober/melancholic sound and a slow melody, I missed that a little too much on MX. That's what Im hoping for in the future, more intensity and drama please :)
  21. Hmm, really hopeful... I wonder if they will and want to go without more MX overproduction. If they would just pay a little attention to what most people/fans are wishing for.. Don't they wanna know that.
  22. Not if it would be a singer from a good band, singer-songwriter or any other more respected artist. Coldplay with a rnb singer and a rnb beat, or rapper is not really a great decision.. I think. If it would be Fran Healy, Gary Lightbody, Tom Smith.. ..it would be in my dreams I guess.
