LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
My points after reading the articles as well as the comments here: - Stargate is not confirmed yet as one of the producers of LP7 - AHFOD is still on target regarding release date (which is later this year) - No solid facts until now... Rumors will still be rumors unless confirmed by the band.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
The trilogy (Parachutes, A Rush of Blood to the Head, X&Y) has post-Britpop influences in it.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Well of course we cannot classify the album as a whole inside the pop genre because Coldplay uses different styles and influences. It's just that they became more mainstream...

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
It's harder to predict what Coldplay will bring these days. Except for the fact that it'll be pop :P

Coldplay Songs referencing other coldplay songs
On X&Y particularly the song Speed of Sound, there's this stanza: "The buildings that you put up Japan and China all lit up" Chris mentioned Japan and China on that song which eventually became part of song titles on the next two albums: Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends - Lovers in Japan Mylo Xyloto - Princess of China :wink3:

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
^ Yes, GS is great but it was too Chris-centric. If LP7 is indeed a completion of something, I guess it will be about the four of them... Their musical journey and evolution.

I'm also thinking the same thing. And that theme dominated the whole of GS. Yes, it is a breakup record but it is also a hopeful record... boldly stating that everything has a reason.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
That song must have the most important ingredient (which the songs mentioned above have): Being TIMELESS

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
That's interesting. Anything is possible at this point. Now that the album's title is confirmed "officially", LP7 may dawn on us anytime soon. I honestly think that they already had an album cover for it. They just don't want to spill all the news in one go because that will pretty spoil everything.

Six new song titles registered, including 'I'm a real bastard'
I'm a Real Bastard is the most unColdplayish title in the group

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
As long as the music is great, I'm okay with that title.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
That sounds like challenging the band... but Chris said that they no longer care about critics. :bomb:

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Not necessarily. GS is electronic and yet I can definitely hear bass in Magic, Ink, Always in my Head and Another's Arms.

Hello! Where is everyone from?
Hi everyone, I'm from a very far place called the Philippines

Head Full of Dreams TOUR CITIES?
Still hoping that they can include Manila on their tour. Philippines never had the chance to see the grandeur of Viva la Vida tour or the explosion of colors of MX tour. I hope they add some dates for Asia.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I think the singles of A Head Full of Dreams will get more attention as the band will launch a "proper" worldwide tour in support of the album (plus the individual promotion of the singles). Having said that, in a critic's point of view, everything else will depend on what will Coldplay release this time around. This thread had became sort of a wishlist and a mixbag of speculations but the next album will sure to top the charts again as with all their previous releases... I think one of the reasons why Coldplay have maintained their huge fan base is that even though they continue to experiment with a wide array of instruments, soundscapes and genres, their signature "Coldplay-ish" sound is still embedded in their songs and in their albums in general. I'm not expecting a revolutionary/innovative album but I'm certainly expecting it to be good. Some of my fave bands had a great 7th album (see Radiohead's In Rainbows, U2's Achtung baby and The Beatles' Revolver).

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Yes it is actually. The ability to connect with their listeners is the band's best gift besides the actual music of course.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Yep. And it's also hard to imagine Coldplay working with Aphex Twin. I mean Coldplay is known for their signature melodies so it's quite hard for me to imagine that they'll compose a song with that type of electronica in mind. They're not Radiohead to do such thing. They are Coldplay.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I'm quite optimistic about the "horns and strings" news. You know, it's true that Coldplay's last two albums are more poppy and catchy than their previous efforts but one can't deny the fact that they are incorporating new elements and styles as they create a new record. Just look at the difference between MX and GS for example. I mean it's not bad to speculate on what we'll going to hear soon, I just think we have to remain optimistic on what's going on at the moment.

Horns... Could there be some jazz influences in the new record? That would be great :wink3:

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Yes, I'll be happy to hear the progress of the recording even if their answers are vague and not much direct to the point.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Honestly, I don't want them to rush things. Besides, we are used to waiting since there's a three year gap between album releases since X&Y. But waiting do requires a lot of patience :\
