A hiatus is understandable and acceptable at this point in their career. I think the guys need a break after the release of the next album (next year?) (especially if they go for big anthems and stadium-sized songs for LP7.) They need some time to rest not because of tours or overexposure but for them to think about the next step after that. Maybe they could innovate their sound again to continue growing as a good musician.

I got your point. It would be better if they release LP7 ahead of the festivals if they are planning to include most of its songs in their set lists.

I really don't expect a new single this year. That one might come early next year or they may drop it by midyear (before the festivals). I also haven't got any clue on LP7's progress because there's no reliable news about it yet (even though we all know that they are already working on it as Chris revealed on an interview by Zane Lowe before the release of Ghost Stories).

60% LP7 songs, 30% hit songs, 10% rarely played songs.

If this is legit, the release date of LP7 could be similar to that of MX (if they play a number of festivals first before launching the official tour) or maybe earlier (if they release the album before going on tour).

I believe the sudden news about a possible early release of the next LP makes the remaining GS dates uninteresting and it's quite sad because I feel the current album has been taken for granted somehow.

I agree with you that LP7 will be closer to MX in terms of style and vibes but I also think that they will bring something new in the forthcoming album.I don't know if it will be bigger than MX but it is safe to say for now that a more mainstream, radio-friendly tracks will dawn on us. Something that can make Chris jump and dance in the stage.

They don't need to collaborate with someone to sell their album because they are "Coldplay". They are big enough to do everything on their own. They always make a good album without the need to invite somebody to mess with one of their songs. What they need now, in my opinion, is a producer that can maximize and push their talents further. And if ever they still want to do a collab., can't they collaborate with someone like Noel Gallagher rather than the likes of Rihanna?

Even though I always look forward for fresh titles, naming the 7th LP "COLDPLAY" would be fine I guess.

I would really love to have a compilation album of their B-Sides like Elbow's Dead in the Boot :)

Yeah I forgot about the Ghost Stories Promotional Tour :) thanks. I'm also sensing a "stadium-friendly" anthems. What's your opinion then about LP7 being compared to the last Harry Potter book? Do you think they'll call it quits or they'll just just take on a hiatus?

Judging by how "low key" Ghost Stories was released (just 3 official singles, no tour, moderate promotions), I'm guessing LP7 will be big. It just feels a bit weird if they will release it really soon haha :P

Sorry if I mixed up Parachutes with Ghost Stories. I just did it because I remember mixing up OK Computer with In Rainbows. Anyway, I won't change the Standard track list for Ghost Stories though I still feel they should have put a little instrumentals after ASFOS because it feels a little bit awkward when O comes in right after.
