  1. That shit better be recorded! I'm not going to be near any computer at 4:30!
  2. POC. I was really apprehensive about Rihanna at first, but I don't think it's going to be bad at all. If I liked the crappy youtube version so much, how could I hate the clear studio version?! Rihanna can't screw it up that bad!
  3. 1) Up With The Birds 2) Us Against The World 3) Princess of China 4) UFO 5) Hurts Like Heaven 6) Don't Let It Break Your Heart 7) Charlie Brown
  4. Ohhh no. I hope it has better lyrics than ETIAW!
  5. Hurts Like Heaven or Princess of China.

    reminds me of... D.I.N.O.S.A.! U.R. a dinosaur!!
  8. You know what, I completely agree. But for a singer like him, that E is really hard to sing in a soft song. So I can see why. Chris Martin isn't exactly known for his vocal ability. ;)
  9. I love Wedding Bells! It's probably one of my favorite songs they've done. I can play it on the piano (I incorporated the vocals into the piano part because it sounds better/I sing like a dying mule). :D
  10. I'm ridiculously excited about it. I'm less ridiculously excited with Rihanna and all... but I'm still ridiculously excited. The crap-quality live version is still amazing. The bass drops, the synthesizers, the chord changes -- it's all beautifully structured to me (unlike Paradise, which I think of as Princess of China's annoying, half-retarded, less adept sibling).
  11. 1) Princess of China 2) Hurts Like Heaven 3) Charlie Brown 4) Us Against The World 5) Major Minus 6) Up In Flames 7) Paradise 8) Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall
  12. I started with The Bends I then had to go buy the hard copy because I loved it so much. :D
  13. I love this thread! :D Everyone is positive! I think MX will be glorious. Anyways, here's my score along with my scores for previous albums. Parachutes: 9/10 A Rush of Blood to the Head: 10/10 X&Y: 8/10 Viva La Vida: 9/10 MX: 8.5-9/10 The only thing I'm disappointed in are the singles. I don't think ETIAW was single material, nor Paradise. Respectively, they're good songs (in my opinion), but they don't hold any water in the long run and fans were definitely looking for something more memorable and explosive. What sucks about Paradise and ETIAW is that they're not fit for singles. They didn't excite anyone. Violet Hill was an amazing first single because it was SOOO different to what most people perceived Coldplay as being, and then Viva La Vida was SOO different from Violet Hill. Personally, I think they should've made Hurts Like Heaven the first single because it's different from usual Coldplay, then Princess of China, then Charlie Brown. Maybe there's another song that's just as good as those ones that we haven't heard. I think it's the way they're doing the promo, too. They're releasing more singles over stretched out amounts of time to get people thinking about Coldplay, and then the album is released. ETIAW was released waaayyy before the album, Paradise a month before, and then the album is released. I'm just considering ETIAW and Paradise to be alike to Violet Hill (I don't mean they sound anything like Violet Hill, I'm just saying promo-wise, I see some relation). Violet Hill was a good single, but it didn't give much insight to the rest of the album. I'm hoping ETIAW and Paradise are like that.
  14. I personally love the studio version. I was a bit wary of the megaphone deal early on, but it really grew on me (like, after the 3rd listen). As I've listened to the Letterman show, I'm beginning to think that Hurts Like Heaven's backing vocals will be more prominent, but I'm okay with that because they're really cool. ^ That's really the best it's been described. I haven't read '1984', but I've read 'Fahrenheit 451' and 'The Giver'. Those novels are what popped into my head as I listened to it. I love dystopian themes :)
  15. God I just hope it leaks on a friday or something. The 25th is a Tuesday... I FREAKING HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL!! Do you know how distracted I'll be? I might have to skip that day!
  16. :( ... I like X&Y. Although it's probably my least favorite Coldplay album so far. I kind of saw that type of trajectory coming though. Clocks and The Scientist were very popular, and I understand how they may have wanted to exploit that sound even further (hence X&Y). I don't think that makes X&Y garbage, though. Some songs were great! I love Kingdom Come, Fix You, The Hardest Part, Speed of Sound, and Talk. In the end, I'm glad they came out with Viva La Vida. It was the breath of fresh air we all were looking for. I hope they don't try to run off the success of Viva though. :\
  17. :D I don't think any Coldplay album is 'garbage'. That's a very extreme conviction... unless you actually think so, which would be unfortunate.
  18. ^ I think I'd change places with Major Minus and Charlie Brown :P !!!
  19. Major Minus isn't crap
