  1. Exactly what I was thinking. The majority of the people on here are angry loud mouths who hate every thing Coldplay does anymore. If that's how you all feel, leave the Coldplay forum. Follow a different band if you so choose. I loved the VLV video. Thought it fit perfectly. The other version with the King was dumb in my opinion. I can't wait to see a video for Paradise if that's the song they're using.
  2. This should not be a separate thread.... Still, I think the entire song from the word go is very epic and dramatic.
  3. Coldplay and Radiohead should never be compared. They are both very different bands, so by default this thread is a little dumb.
  4. It's definitely safe to say that people on this forum overreacted, including me a little, but this song is brilliant. Absolutely stunning in my opinion. I guess I'm the only one who loves the lyrics, oh well. I think they're beauty in simplicity, a highly underrated thing. I was thinking on the way home a minute ago, something about Mylo Xyloto hit me. This could be the most diverse Coldplay album ever, and that doesn't have to be bad. ETIAW and Paradise are your radio hit pop songs. Major Minus is the weird one. Hurts Like Heaven is lyrically based. Charlie Brown makes you jump up and down. Princess of China features a duet, which, even though it sounds terrible, may ended up being pretty good if Chris' voice still dominates. UATW is also very different in that it's more acoustic. Think, this album is already quite a journey. I can't wait to listen from start to finish. Speaking of finish, Paradise is a great closing song.
  5. This is an unfair poll. ETIAW has had time to make the lasting impression. Paradise will grow 10 ten fold on most of you here, so, don't be too hasty. I cannot say. Like them both, and, they're polar opposites.
  6. I may very well go and download the horrible quality live version and listen to it instead.
  7. I just... I just don't know if I can sing along to Rihanna. I really don't think I can. This is horribly heart breaking. I guess Charlie Brown and Hurts Like Heaven are the only two songs that I can look forward to really getting into. A Hopeful Transmission, M.M.I.X., U.F.O., Up In Flames, and DLIBYH will have to be huge hits for this album to even touch VLV.
  8. One thing, radio hit. It's obvious that this is what they wanted. A catchy pop song right after ETIAW to get some radio time, and I definitely expect that it will get air time, because it is a simple catchy pop song that non-Coldplay fans will like better. I've listened to it twice now, and it's okay. I'm sure it'll grow on me more, but it isn't at all what I expected. The lyrics are fine with me. The two worst things about it is the constant clap to beat, and the electronic hum (whatever that is). I thought Chris' vocals were very good though. I definitely would have preferred something much more odd and quirky like MM. I guess I'll just have to appreciate this song for what it is, instead of trying to compare it to everything else they've made.
  9. I didn't listen to the 30 second snippet. I want to save it all for tomorrow. Simply cannot wait. Gimme gimme gimme. :P
  10. Just noticed this, and am now wondering. Why is "Glowing in the dark" on this album? Is it possible that this song shares something with Charlie Brown? Take a look at the lower left corner of this cover.
  11. Best post in this thread. I think it stands for something. Xyolobrytes? May very well be. At any rate, I expect it to be a great short instrumental. :)
  12. MTM is a very good song. Superb in my opinion. However, we have already heard it, and it isn't quite the hit that MM and ETIAW are. It just isn't. MM is the OCD that Chris was talking about, of course it made the cut. ETIAW is their radio hit, of course it made the cut. What I'm most fed up with are people who still bash everything about that song. It's not typical Coldplay. It's much more generic than a lot of their other stuff, but it's there. Get over it. MTM is available on iTunes whenever anybody wants it. Download it, listen to it, sing to it, whatever. I know I will, but don't complain that it isn't on there. Would you have rather them take off Princess of China or Charlie Brown? Yeah, I doubt many of you would go for that. All the way around, they're giving us 15 new songs this year. This isn't including any possible B-Sides, and the slight possibility of an EP.
  13. It's written on the back of Chris' shirt. The phrase "Car Kids" is not totally dead. May not be a hidden track, but it may very well be a key part of a song.
  14. How is this topic already 15 pages??? Haha, this is so awesome. Sad that there's no Car Kids, but I'm thrilled to see Princess of China, which was one of them I was concerned about not making it. Can't wait to hear M.M.I.X. Saddened that DLIBYH is exactly what we thought it was named. :P Nice to see A Hopeful Transmission and U.F.O. I'm also wondering if there any B-Sides. Also, was there a leaked version of Up With The Birds, or was that a hoax?
  15. Ah, well there's still room for question in my mind, but if that's the case, then this is bad. 1. Mylo Xyloto 2. Hurts Like Heaven 3. Princess of China (Spanish Rain B-Side) 4. Major Minus 5. Charlie Brown 6. DLIBYH 7. Us Against The World 8. Up In Flames 9. Paradise 10. Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (U.F.O B-Side) I don't think Car Kids will make it if Mylo Xyloto is it's own track. Something tells me Major Minus will make it, so at this point it's either Car Kids or Hurts Like Heaven.
  16. I don't think it's a song, just a slogan. Could Mylo Xyloto mean Under 1 Roof? Yes I think it's possible. There's a reason why it's on their home page right now. Especially since it's right next to the pronunciation of Mylo Xyloto.
  17. That's only referring to the name. Not the length of the song.
  18. Same, but they may be playing it up a little more because it's actually weaker. Paradise may end up being the radio hit that sells the album.
  19. Oh really? Interesting, I thought that was just rumor. Can you guys show me anywhere where they announced that?
  20. We're doing the same thing. If DLIBYH is Don't Let It Break Your Heart then it's a terrible name. The song may be stunning, but the name is horrible.
  21. I'm sorry, could you use a few more capitals? I'm not sure I got your point. :\
  22. You know, we never said we hated the song (how could we, it's not even out yet). We just hate the title, cause, it's terrible.
  23. To me, it does. Sure, the song may kick butt, but if the title sucks then it won't help make it a lasting artistic impression on me. Something Coldplay is generally great at doing.
  24. 1. Three U's. 2. At least two B-Sides. 3. MX and HLH will be combined. Those are three things I think are for sure. I really don't see them wasting an entire track on 42 seconds or so on MX, and I definitely don't think it'll be a B-Side. The only possible problem with mine, is it may be too long. Their album will be around 42 minutes, so mine may break that. Then again, they may all be average length songs. Never know. All I know, is that I really really really hope Car Kids is on there.
  25. And seriously, how is that possible man? :P In my opinion, Don't Let It Break Your Heart should never be a song title. Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall is at least somewhat meaningful.
