Ask the Oracle on Coldplay.com (Now in session!)
OK, Debs, here's another suggestion. What if we started a thread here named "What would you ask The Oracle" or something like that for the fans to discuss and see if others were wondering the same and then only one of us sends you the question so that you don't get bothered with numerous copies of the same question? And then, when we reach a consensus, someone whom we make in charge sends it to you here via private message and you answer it. But you answer every question asked in this manner. Of course if you or the band don't know the answer yet, let us know that too. That is if you or anyone from The Oracle team visit this site regularly. It would be like a daily exclusive coldplaying question! We'll limit it to one question per day. The idea is, since this is the biggest fan site in the world, and we are probably better informed about Coldplay than the general public that asks questions on the official site, our questions would probably be more relevant. What do you think? I think that I (we) all eagerly await the Charlie Brown video, so do you know when will it be released? It's not a particularly original question, and you've probably been asked this many times, but still, I think that that's what we want to know more than anything.

Ask the Oracle on Coldplay.com (Now in session!)
Wow, first of all, I am honored. :wacky: Of course, you should do what you see fit. I was refering to these types of questions: http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showpost.php?p=5170936&postcount=6362 Why should people bug you with that? But THIS is very, very lovely: http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showpost.php?p=5172380&postcount=6377 I didn't know you were asked to answer questions unrelated to Coldplay, and I imagine that you get multiple copies of the same dumb related ones. :D Your job isn't easy. Honestly, I've never asked The Oracle anything, this is the first time I suggested something and I was answered! Wow! :smug2: Cheers! Have a nice day! ;)

Charlie Brown New Single - Third single
Mind-blowing, I know...

Ask the Oracle on Coldplay.com (Now in session!)
O hai. :surprised: I don't mind The Oracle joking, but I suggest that you should stop responding to non-Coldplay related questions because that does seem unfair to (I guess) thousands of people who ask questions about Coldplay and don't get answered.

"I don't feel that we've done the thing that's great yet, we're still looking for that..." That sounds promising.

This is GREAT! :laugh3: Thanks Lory. There are no bad Chris Martin interviews. :D

Charlie Brown New Single - Third single
:smug2: Are there going to be any actual Charlie Brown references in the video?

Mylo Xyloto in Every Song?
Discreet xylophones are audible throughout the album. But this is a slight overreaction Rafa. I wonder what inspired them to base the album on xylophones. Perhaps the baby boom? I think all members had behbehz around VLV so they grew enough to start playing xylophones and make them do this: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwTS2RKPHN8]Chris and Guy xylophone duet (Roadie #42 - Blog #124) - YouTube[/ame] :P

U2
I know, thus the indeed. :D Still, they won a Grammy for it...

U2
@howyousawtheworld Yeah, I agree with what you added about U2/Coldplay. As for Lemon, well, the opposite of love isn't hate but indifference. There are still many songs I don't know by name. Lemon I don't particularly like, but at least it stands out. I mean, I think it's way too long, and falsetto Bono is funny, but it's an interesting song with kinky lyrics. :wink3: :D Lemon b00bz: I think Achtung Baby and Pop will grow on me. I don't know about Zooropa. I've only listened to it once, I shouldn't really talk about it. But my opinions may change, they're not carved in stone...

U2
Not gonna lie, I teared up a bit. Very emotional... Also, I suspect that Larry is a vampire. The dude doesn't age.

What is your favourite Coldplay song today?

Coldplay 'birthday'! Yup, today.
Happy birthday Coldplay. :dazzled: Thank you for making this world a little more beautiful... :smug2:

U2
Well, you know, different tastes... ;) To me, Lemon sounds like Prince and Radiohead having sex. :D Zooropa indeed sounds like an EP stretched to a full length album. I applaud the experimental sound, it's quite avant-garde, but the songs are kinda shapeless... U2 can be like that sometimes, no identifiable melody, unlike Coldplay's songs which start with a strong melody. U2's songs sound more disperse, for a lack of a better word. Both bands have their strengths and weakness...

Wow! This album is getting slaughtered by the press and fans!
To me, the first 5 songs on AROBTTH will always be the pinnacle of Coldplay's brilliance. Just simple yet powerful songs, all killers, no fillers. And it all culminates with Clocks...

To demonstrate the sarcastic and the critical: :D [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHE8pRTK1Ls]Bono Accepts Grammy for Best Alternative Act - 1995 - YouTube[/ame]

U2
Oh I'm sorry for your losses. I guess you're a little bit older than me? (I'm 22.) Thanks for guiding me through my early days of U2 fandom. :D I'll watch the Elevation Tour, I like the setlist more than 360's. OK, I've listened to Zooropa and I don't like it. :| I like some production tricks but I don't like the actual songs. Maybe Numb and Daddy's Gonna Pay... Lemon is like 7 minutes of 'why am I listening to this'? :D They were so sarcastic and critical in the 90s. Perhaps people misjudge Pop, it's actually anti-pop, anti-discotheques, anti-Playboy mansions. ;) I like the 90s U2 but not as much as the 80s. I like half of Achtung Baby (I think the rest will grow on me), and I like Pop equally. I love Discotheque and Mofo. I've listened to them a lot in the past month or so. All the 90s albums combined would make one awesome album. OK, only the first 3 albums left. I don't know any songs, but I know they're pre-Eno punk-ish anti-war songs... :)

Lana Del Rey
I like her style more than her actual music, she's very Nancy Sinatra-esque... But Video Games is awesome.

Wow! This album is getting slaughtered by the press and fans!
The reviews have settled at 65% on Metacritic. Rihanna knocked off 5% I think. :D MX is different. Different does not mean bad. I cannot rank CP albums, I like one more than the other depending on mood. It wasn't by any means a letdown for me. As for the general public liking MX more than some CP fans, that's simple: They prefer the more upbeat Coldplay. VLV wasn't their biggest hit coincidentally. Furthermore, I feel that a lot of fans changed their minds after a while. (I'm writing this for the 34753475 time) I was shocked by ETIAW, but now I love it. People are naturally reserved when they encounter a change. I felt that VLV was aiming lower than the atmospheric space symphony that was X&Y. But eventually I fell in love with it... I am kind of saturated by all the colors and the popiness, so they should get serious on LP6. And knowing their history, they will. We will see a similar contrast as VLV-MX was. Baroque-rock to electro-rock. Historic to urban. Who knows what LP6 will be like, but it definitely won't be like MX. Reinvention is better than sticking to a formula, even if the formula is AROBTTH. They can't return to their alternative roots of Parachutes, they're the biggest band in the world. They have to soar to U2-esque heights... :wacky:

A very acoustic performance of HLH !
Yeah, but I can't remember the name of the show. There's a thread about it... VLV was played in space on the last mission of the last space shuttle. :wacky:

A very acoustic performance of HLH !
Did you watch that 30 min. documentary on the VLV song? It's all him. Layers and layers of him playing parts of the song on different string instruments...

A very acoustic performance of HLH !
Yes, yes, and he's Italian. We get it, Italians are so talented and smart and seksi and well-dressed... :D BTW, they need to get even more ENOXIFICATED, make more detailed songs, even though it complicates performing them live... Or strip the songs down to an acoustic style of the first two albums? I don't know what I want... :(
