1. Oh yes, very exited to see the contributions! Loving it that they're doing this. I have no talent, though. :laugh4:
2. Went over to a co-worker's desk today and while we talked I saw an email notification popping up. The sender was 'Chris Martin'. My colleague saw that I stared at it for a moment and explained, "Nah, it's not that one. I can still try asking him for tickets, though." :D
3. I do, I do, I do! I find it so beautiful and atmospheric. The moment when Chris breaks out into the yeah at 2:44 and Jonny's guitar takes over, the audience cheering - whoa, goosebumps every time! I always listen to this part with my headphones on really loudly (my poor ears). :dazzled:
4. Running seems somehow important. :D I bet it's a show part where Will puts on his evil stare and chases fans down the field with his enormous church bell (I imagine him standing on a huge chariot pulled through the stadium by Chris).
5. I'd really like something old turned into something new. Like the stripped down version of Speed Of Sound they did during the MX tour. For the first time I realised what a fantastic song it was beneath the things I didn't like about it too much. Probably have to spend more brain juice on this to come up with a nice example of what this actually could be for this tour, but I guess I'm happy to be surprised anyway. (As I'm not to keep on A Whisper and because it's the only song from AROBTTH I've never experienced live, maybe they could come up with something for this one. Minimal-electro? Turn it into a ballad? :D The song at Royce Hall last year, was quite a surprise.)
6. Yeah, comparing prices over long periods isn't quite fair anyway. Times and scales change and yes, absolutely, there are artists that are much more expensive. (Still, paying nearly €100 for the relatively short Ghost Stories gigs hurt, LOL.) I really don't know and I'm surprised as well that my early ones are still readable. I was thinking that maybe keeping them in a box without light might help, but then I remembered that during my time as a student I had put them up on a pin board, so they were exposed to light. I guess it depends on the type of printing used.
7. Some weeks ago I had to reorganise the little box in which I keep all my old concert tickets, because it was starting to flow over. Right at the bottom was my first ever Coldplay ticket. Gosh, if the prices were still the same, you could get four tickets instead of just one today. :devilish: Mobile Link: https://www.instagram.com/p/-oN1f7EPQ6/
8. Maybe you guys here would like the recent Saybia album 'No Sound From The Outside'. I love it so much; it's dark and melancholic in a way and yet feels like a warm and gentle hug, promising that things will get better. Here's a teaser for the album which contains short parts of three songs:

Some people who don't like the song that much, have said that it's kind of forgettable. I really love this song, and funnily enough for me it is, too. It's a really strange thing, because when I haven't listened to it for a while I cannot immediately bring my head to remembering it. It's not like other songs (loved of not loved) that can pop into my head at random moments and that might stay there hauntingly. And at the same time, whenever I listen to the song again, I immediately remember why I love it and then it all comes back. It's like a new and yet familiar experience every time. Keeps the song fresh for me. I can't imagine getting sick of it anytime soon. :earmuffs: (Maybe it's just the beginning of short-term memory loss, LOL.)
10. I love this video, too, and even though I liked the lighter ones with the fans as well, I think the original one fit the themes of the Ghost Stories era much better with its heavier, blue-ish look and feelings.
11. At first I couldn't think of one specifically, then I thought about all of them at once...and then I decided it's probably the solo from Violet Hill from me. Such a defining Coldplay moment for me and my life.
12. Aw, that intro to Yellow during the AROBTTH tour was just brilliant. I wish they would have kept it forever, because it fit the song so well. Really enjoyed reading the last posts and everyone's favourites in here! :)
13. I guess large amounts of the general public would have always hated Coldplay playing an event like the Super Bowl. At any stage of their career and regardless of their musical output at that time. They're just this kind of easily 'hate-able' band, perceived as boring, "soft" and not particularily cool. Makes them cool to me. :D That's why I also think there is some potential to surprise people with a great show and defy a few preconceptions here and there. Can't wait to see what they're cooking up!
14. Whoa, Michael, what happened, lol? (I dig it. :wink3:) Now waiting for the spoilers from the band that Davide promised in the Coldplaying interview... (Also: I already checked at work whether I could take the day after the Super Bowl off, as it's in the middle of the night here, so I can stay awake without regrets. Cray cray. :rolleyes5:)
15. I love A Spell A Rebel Yell! Actually my copy sounds really weird (even weirder than the song is intended to be), 'cause the vinyl I got with the NME is bent, lol. :laugh4: Reminds me of really good times when living in England.
16. Great interview - thank you for bringing it to us!
17. But why does no one ever blame Phil? He chose Love Me Harder by Ariana Grande and The Weeknd for the CAC question after all. :wink3: :D I guess they all have quite varied tastes in music. Chris has always cited pop influences/inspirations as well (a-ha, Justin Timberlake...), even in the earlier days.
18. So does the radio we saw at the Hackney show indeed work as a singles/release of some sort oracle? Birds was on there... Mobile Link: https://twitter.com/coldplaying/status/672495990998482944?s=09
19. Haha no, you sound awesome! Welcome!

As I mentioned in the other thread, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra playing 'The Blue Danube' brought me back to Viva times today. Funnily enough, when they finished it, my mind still went immediately to the LiT beginning. I listened to the tour bootlegs too much, I think. :D I love a good intro song and how it can be something of a theme setter as well as almost a kind of Pavlovian trigger. This year I really, really loved U2's 'People Have The Power' intro and how it got the crowd going. I can still feel the excitement whenever I hear it. Can't wait to see what Coldplay will choose for the AHFOD tour!
21. Oh wow, there's a Duke Special thread! I just entered it into the search and didn't expect anything to come up... Well, time to revive it after almost nine years. Anybody else here still a fan? I'm loving 'Look Out Machines!'. Saw Peter debuting it in a tiny London pub at the end of 2014. Unfortunately, he cancelled some of his German support dates, so I couldn't catch him in 2015.
22. Currently watching the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra playing Strauss' 'The Blue Danube' at their new year's concert. I was reminded of the intro to the Viva shows back then and how sometimes couples started dancing the waltz and everybody cheering them on.
23. Oh yes, it's that for me, too. I associate a kind of golden, melancholic light with it.
24. Haha, yes they look very alike! They actually are friends and have played live together.
