  1. The lyrics have always been a mixed bag. A lot of personal taste and what one would consider "poetic" or "lyrical" probably comes in here, too. I also like the mix of simpler, maybe even cheeky lyrics as Jedi Leo put it, and the more profound moments. So far I like the whole album lyrics-wise very much and it gives me inspiration. Especially with the inclusion of 'The Guest House'. It's not like "it was all yellow" was a deep meaningful masterpiece. Chris said that 'yellow' itself had no meaning, but it just fit. And yes, it does and that's completely okay. "You put me on a line and hung me out to dry." Yeah, well. It wasn't exactly a favourite of mine, either. :D I love the diamonds line from AOAL as well! <3
  2. LOL, Chris and Simon on the couch together - a promise of good fun. 'Best goddaughter award', aww. Wossy not knowing how to pronounce Beyoncé was so funny as well. "How old are you exactly?" The surfer impression was pure gold. I love it when Chris is in stitches about his own jokes! :D God bless the internet.
  3. Does it need to be called one thing or another? Well, if it just derives from 'popular', then it's definitely pop, 'cause the album is pretty popular with me right now. :D
  5. LOL! :D Viva and AROBTTH for me too, if I had to chose. These are the albums that will remain an important, lasting part of music history. But I refuse to believe that they've already made their masterpiece. :P I can't wait for whatever is about to come.

That's a great interpretation! Not a favourite if mine after the first couple of listens, but now it took me by the hand and I'm loving it. Sad and yet so hopeful in its best combination.
  7. Thank you, guys! :) I still can't believe this really happened. I tried to explain to my boss that I need two days off and all that came out was incoherent, overexcited nonsense. I'm really curious which song they will play at the moment of the live broadcast on all major TV stations at 20:13 h. Something new or classic?
  8. Made me fall in love with these guys and their thinking all over again. I'm glad they exist and have been one of the two most constant parts of my life.
  9. Stephie replied to getithom's topic in Kaleidoscope
I thought I was the only one, lol! I cried as well hearing it for the first time. The poem is beautiful and I'm trying to reach this kind of acceptance for my own life as well. And then this message embedded in so beautiful music... Aw.
  10. Yeah, Ghost Stories had a blocking period on Spotify for about six (?) months as well. I guess it will be the same with AHFOD now. I also use Spotify for all my streaming and was definitely disappointed that it didn't appear there. I bought the vinyl as well and got the downloads, but the ease of using Spotify (offline) on the go is just something different. I wish they would have a deal that makes these withheld albums available for premium users at least. Would be equal to Apple Music, Tidal etc. then. Well, I caved and got Tidal for my listening pleasure. :D Will probably just take the trial month, though.
  11. Stephie replied to getithom's topic in Army Of One
My fave from the album at the moment and it was right away. I love the looping sound, too - there's something in it that pushes my happiness button. Even more so when the organ sets in. The concept of an army of one speaks to me as well. And I love the connection with Hurts Like Heaven (My heart is my gun / Use your heart as a weapon).
  12. I expected something truly horrid after all the comments here - and then I actually liked this song. Do I have a fever? For me it's well placed after the joyous Army Of One, kind of levelling out the mood into something more sober again before leading up to Amazing Day. I thought A Whisper might finally get a contender for my 'WTF?' category, but no, dammit. :D
  13. 01 Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends 02 A Rush Of Blood To The Head 03 A Head Full Of Dreams 04 Mylo Xyloto 05 Ghost Stories 06 Parachutes 07 X&Y Interested to know how I'll see that in a year or so. The ranking of an album for me also has to do with how they toured it. During the Twisted Logic tour I felt no connection with the band and it also left the album stained in a way. MX & Viva were my favourite tours and I associate many happy memories with the albums. :)
  14. I love this interlude! It picks up some of the themes and sounds from the songs before and creates a kind of summary before the finale starts with Up & Up. Clever! The intro from AHFOD, then the birds and Beyonce, the muffled woohoo's from AOAL, the spoken word part of Kaleidoscope... I need to listen a couple of more times to find out whether there are any other quotes of the songs. At first I wondered whether they tried to put all of them in there.
  15. Whoops, just when I thought it was all over, I got a call from Welt Kompakt telling me that I won tickets with Meet & Greet. WTF! I was still at work when I got the call and subsequently, there was no more work done all afternoon, lol. I can't believe this...
  16. I'm sad, too. Well, it was a long shot. As long as the distance between me and the moon approximately. Congrats to the lucky winners! Have a great night! :)
  17. I also believe that the plan we saw this morning was very close to the actual stage design. Maybe they took it down and replaced it with the more abstract plan, because it was too much of a spoiler for now?!
  18. Has anyone received the presale code through Warner already (no purchase necessary)? Seems only Amazon sent them out for pre-ordering so far.
  19. I think it's just different entrances, so the stage might go through the middle of the two FOS zones. Just bought a Golden Circle/FOS ticket for Stockholm in the presale and there it had the options "GOLDEN CIRCLE" and "GOLDEN CIRCLE ENTRANCE GATE 2". Both the same price and on the picture of the stadium it showed the same zone.
  20. LOL, this is starting to feel like torture. World tour still so far away, got no tickets for BBCR1, little chances of winning here... They need to stop this. :D
  21. It was another splendid night and I was happy to be there to maybe celebrate the end of this era! Too short? - Yes always, but I've been to shows of them where they played less and by now I know what to expect. They make every second count for sure (especially Will, you drum monster!). Loved the location and that we could wait inside for most of the time. My estimated 15 layers of clothing were not really needed. It was just a bit tiring that the entry procedure changed about every 5 minutes and nobody could confirm how it would be done. All out at 4 pm, everybody can stay, numbers on tickets first, numbers don't mean a thing, everybody behind the barriers, everybody except the first 35, doors at 4:30, doors at 5:30...ugh. Loving the piano. Who's the guy in front of it? Can he even play it? So cute how Jonny was laughing about all of Chris's jokes. All of them. :D Chris starring as deer caught in the headlights (or his laser lights). BTW, I loved all the regular museum visitors realising what was going on. "Oh, they're playing Coldplay music in here - nice." - "That IS Coldplay. They're soundchecking over there around the corner." *about 500 people walking by the merch stand* *eyes getting bigger and bigger* "Are Coldplay here tonight?" "Are there still tickets?" - "Nope." - "Can I buy yours by any chance? I'll give you €100." -"No. And the ticket was €100. Still no, though." :D
  22. Well, guess eBay is not interested in removing any auctions: "Bei begehrten Veranstaltungen bestimmen Angebot und Nachfrage den Ticketpreis. Käufer können hier aber sehr einfach selber tätig werden - indem sie auf derartige Angebote einfach nicht eingehen. Niemand ist gezwungen, ein Ticket zu einem derartigen Preis zu kaufen und wenn Käufer derartige Angebote einfach ignorieren, wird es sie in dieser Form auch nicht mehr geben." (from a reply on Facebook) Okay then. Never mind that the presenter specifically prohibits re-selling. Well, hope some of you without a ticket can still grab one on Eventim. Keeping my fingers crossed that more tickets reappear there! :)
  23. Yeah, hoping that if more people report it, something gets done. There's even a couple who got two pairs of tickets in the official sale and now they're selling their +1s together. ("Wir haben uns beide je 2 Karten gegönnt.") Hope they will never be that lucky again in their lives. *rollseyes* And thanks for posting the right link! The forum automatically linked to the .com site when typing the name. Didn't think it would do that. :D
