[2016-04-07] Coldplay wins the Best Band Pop/Rock International at Echo awards
Sweet video. Shows that it's been some time since this band came to be. There's a whole new generation now and they're all so big. :D

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
The diversity is what's making me love it. It doesn't make for such a strong theme or soundscape as e.g. Viva does, but in this case it's not a disappointment for me as I can still feel an overarching journey somehow. And yes, I really, really, really, really, really, really like you...X Marks The Spot. (And I want you to want me, too.) ;) :D I don't know how it's gonna turn out more long-term, but currently AHFOD is still my no. 3 of all Coldplay albums, because it makes me feel alive in a way that I very much needed.

[2016-07-03] Friends Arena, Stockholm, Sweden
So happy and surprised to read that Birdy will be the main support for the show in Stockholm. It's the only show she's doing on the European leg. Always wanted to see her live. :)

===The Ultimate Coldplaying Thread===S, BS, BR, P, AROBTTH, X&Y, VLV, PM, MX, GS, AHFOD===
As I said, it's going on and on and on and on... ;) My thread is better than yours, my Coldplay are better than yours, my Jonny Buckland snuggle blanket I got on eBay in 2003 is better than the kiss Guy blew you during the MX tour... (Wait, I think nobody has claimed that yet. :D) In the end it's just a band and just music. Something that should enrich our lives. Nothing worth getting into fights with each other. :)

Amazing backdrop for [*setlist spoiler* a song we like] at Buenos Aires
I agree, it's a very thought-provoking and powerful performance of an already powerful song. Well done! I'm sure they'll bring it back for more shows, now that we saw that they seem to be a bit more flexible with their setlist this time. I think @Nie already mentioned in another thread that they might not have played it at all shows due to political circumstances. Or maybe they weren't happy yet with the performance and are trying to improve it further.

Love hearing that! It looked so great in all the videos. I can't wait to experience it myself. Thanks for your detailed report! :)

===The Ultimate Coldplaying Thread===S, BS, BR, P, AROBTTH, X&Y, VLV, PM, MX, GS, AHFOD===
Gawd, I'm so tired of this apparent Oldplay vs. Newplay, pop is evil, everything used to be better going round in circles, dragging on and on in so many threads, never coming to a resolution, because in the end it just comes down to mostly different tastes (and that's completely okay). We had topics like these during every era, beating the poor horse, but this time the horse seems especially dead to me. Sucks the joy from me, when the daily news out there in the world already do this enough for my taste, and there's a tour to enjoy at the moment. Sorry. Rant over. Horse still dead. :D I love Coldplay. Old, new, inbetween. If that makes me a stupid fangirl, then that's what I love to be. :D

How Many Shows Are You Going To?

Coldplay in my life
I've thought about this, but as it has a lot to do with emotions, it's too hard for me to explain in words. One thing I, however, thought about, is that they and their music probably didn't change me, but completed me in one way or another. Best way I can put it. :)

I'm getting more excited by the minute! I hope they keep some of the variation in the setlist, but so far I've really liked the elements. The Tiësto remix of Paradise is one of my guilty pleasures, so I'm very excited to see that being used. I hope they keep it. I'd love to feel the energy in a big stadium when it explodes with the Xylobands. It already looks awesome on bad quality mobile phone videos, lol. And Jonny's guitar is awesome! Reminds me a bit of how U2 used the remix of The Fly for the intermission on their last tour.

I think it will be 21:00 here as well. I also guess that doors will already open before 18:00.

[2016-04-01] Estadio Unico de La Plata (Buenos Aires, Argentina)
I like the changes to Fix You, actually. It's never been a favorite of mine, I have to say, and I'm really tired of hearing it live. But I understand that it's one of their biggest hits and that they have to play it, because many people want to hear it. I appreciate that they're trying it a little differently. And I agree, that they probably don't want to get bored by their own songs. I always like it when they shake things up. The techno mix if GPASUYF & Talk still remains my favorite, though.

Random Coldplay thoughts...
Spring has arrived here, so I'm wearing my new bomber jacket for the first time. The one I bought because of Guy's awesome tour jacket. I wish I could get my hands on that one, though. :D

[2016-04-01] Estadio Unico de La Plata (Buenos Aires, Argentina)
Aw, I loved that version of Speed Of Sound. Made me realize what a great song it can be. Never quite felt the album version. Hoping for all the fans at the venue that the rain lessens. But I'm sure they'll all have a blast despite it. :)

I was thinking just the same, @Rickulus! I miss reading his thoughtful points of view. :)

U2
I want the to finally release SOE and continue the tour. Can't get enough from the high I felt during the arena shows last year. I'd prefer indoor arenas again.

Why Coldplay?
They've felt like a friend that understood me and was there during Parachutes. They still feel like a friend nearly 15 years on. We might have both changed, but the connection has always been there. :)

How did you discover Coldplay?
So nice to read all these stories from long-time and newer fans! :) As a teenager I used to listen to a daily night talkshow on my local radio station when I couldn't sleep and one of the hosts loved to play mellow music from the UK during these late hours. One night I heard Trouble for the first time there and wrote down the name of the band. That was in November 2001. I asked my dad a little later if he could download Trouble and Yellow for me. (Those, apparently, were the days where you would still ask your computer expert dad to illegally download songs from P2P networks for you. :D) I loved them both so much instantly and played them on all my bus trips to and from school in a continuous loop. Then I bought Parachutes in a record store in Berlin in January 2002. The rest is pretty much a love story that has held its undeniable power until today.

Coldplay World Tour 2016 - 2017 Discussion
Yes, absolutely! While I really, really enjoy seeing them live, the short playing time is my biggest complaint. Especially with the prices during GS and now AHFOD. Can't wait to hear and read everything about the first show!

What is your favourite Coldplay song today?
One more day when the live version of 'Always In My Head' from the RAH blows me away again. So, so powerful!
