Manic Street Preachers
hey, I love the Turin Brakes lyrics in the sig too - reminder to self, go and try and find tickets.................. has anyone heard Leviathon by the Manics yet? I'll wait and buy the album when it's released but the 30second clip sounds promisingly rock-y

Your least favourite Coldplay song
I can't remember if I've posted here already, so Fix You just in case as it really needs saying.
-
Opinions on Fix You Video?
it's very average-y really. I was amused by the speed with which Chris suddenly runs from London to Bolton and have nothing against the end of it, the bit at the concert itself - it's the horribly annoyingly dull street walking that irritates me - at least there's 4 of them at the stadium!

Best Coldplay Lyrics Ever
stuck between two: "Stood on the edge, tied to the noose, you came along and you cut me loose" and "And it's you I see, but you don't see me And it's you I hear, so loud and so clear"

Amsterdam or Fix You???
Amsterdam is my favourite of all Coldplay's songs, Fix You is the worst, in my opinion, song they've put on an album.
-
coldplay setlist
They have also replaced either Talk or What IF with Swallowed In The Sea at various times. Now that's variation (!).

Misheard lyrics in X&Y...
I second the last one.

Things you don't like about X&Y
things I don't like: - Fix You, all of it, apart from the fact that I may be in the video. Lyrically, musically and generally naff in my book. - Most of the album tries to be clever and hypothetical, it feels more planned than natural. This is my biggest gripe. - Swallowed In The Sea - My favourite songs all have a blemish of some sort, I don't like the end of Low, the start of Talk and the way Square One and White Shadows both slow down at the end and too many uses of the word Love in A Message. - Synths - Did I mention the 'hypothetical questions' aspect. - 'Ignite your bones'? What's that about? - No Achtung Baby-esque move towards a rocky approach. I was hoping for a 'One I Love'/'Moses'/'1.36' style album. I'm afraid I could go on if I was awake, I far prefer the first two.

X or Y?
FAvourite songs from the new one are Low and Till Kingdom Come, so Y. Also, Y doesn't seem to be 'trying' as hard to be good, which makes it better (that make sense?) in my opinion.

Coldplay shoot video at gig - NME.com
I would complain, but there's a chance of me being in it, so sorry, but I won't. Anyway, anyone know when it should be used? (ie: when the video will be on our screens)

Bolton 5th July
hey up, i was on the rail at front centre-right, had been at the stadium since 10:30am. Was a great concert, one of the best experiences of my life, even without Coldplay. A day I'll never forget for sure. I was the most 'blue' person at the front apparently. I was glad the band were on top of their game as I'd seen U2 twice at Manchester last month but the qualities of their performances over the two nights were quite different - I hadn't seen the first night here, but they were superb on the second. Morning Runner were great, I thought, although I was a bit disappointed with Doves. Can't wait to hear Morning Runner's album when they get round to making one. The audience was great where I was, obviously, and the ladies I was with seemed flattered by Chris' attention to our area. I spent most of my time watching Mr Buckland and Mr Berryman as I hadn't previously seen much flair in their playing, but this night both seemed to be quite into it and even the screens weren't entirely focused on Mr Martin. Get my photos back on CD tomorrow, though am not too hopeful about quality so don't expect any here.

Glasgow,Sat 2nd July 2005
I hope that's the setlist I get to see in Bolton (the 5th guys, in case you're reading!). I don't really 'get' Swallowed In The Sea but love Talk so that's a great change to me. Now, if only they'd swap Fix You....................... :P

Coldplay gig Review Crystal Palace Monday 28th June 2005
setlists seem to be a bit set-in-stone don't they? I thought u2 didn't mix them up much but this seems to be the exact same set every night. Forgive my ignorance, but what other songs have been played on this tour so far?
-
What's your fav track on X&Y (so far)?
Thus far: 'Til Kingdom Come

Poor Reception of X&Y outside of this Forum
great avatar. I'm a bit disappointed by the album so far but I can't review it properly until I've had 3weeks/1month of listening to it. At the moment, I'm liking Low and 'Til Kingdom Come but we'll see how it grows. I've already switched back to the new Oasis one today though.

Presale Tickets Delivery
Unless you order flipping U2 tickets, which still haven't arrived and I'm going to see them on June 14th.

Coldplay X&Y Out today?
I posted a couple of links in the MultiMedia forum. They've ruined Talk. If anyone has a good quality track#9 - Low - Please PM me.

This board makes the band too over hyped.
Jeez (a couple of) you people can be childish at times. Yes, this is a Coldplay fan-site and they are going to be the favoured band of many that post here, but that doesn't mean that Maureen can't have hesitant expressions too. It's not like she was posting topics entitled 'Cldplay sux' etc. I understand that a couple of you may be insulted at possibly being labelled 'dumb', but that is nothing compared to the abuse that a couple of you have directed back at her. However, I understand that her English is far superior to my Dutch and am willing to accept that she mistakenly used those words, which have since been apologised for. I personally don't agree with the opinion that Parachutes is the musically superior album, I'd say that they both have their strong points but that both were different. Personally, I don't like the songs Trouble or Shiver that much, whereas Amsterdam and Green Eyes seem better, to me, than any Parachutes song. Albie: Coldplay does not make the best music in the world. Personally, I'd say U2 do, but I have no right to claim that U2 makes the best music in the world. I can't understand, sometimes, how someone could dislike a song like 'Bad' but then that is their opinion and I respect that. As all music is subjective, there is no best and worst (well, apart from that frog), there are only favourites and dislikes. Discussing talents is another touchy matter. Whilst I can see the talents of someone like David Bowie, though I can't stand his music, I sometimes struggle to see those of a band such as Radiohead (Although I love the Bends) although I will appreciated that others can see their talents. Albie, sorry to single you out, but I am using you as a spokesperson for those with similar views to your own: Apologies for that. I hope that this, too, isn't seen as an attack on you, only the thoughts that are in my head upon reading this topic.

Til Kingdom Come
whats the flipping point in making it a 'bonus track'? Why not just let it be the last song on the bloody album? We all know it's there, the whole point of a 'bonus'/'hidden' track is that it isn't. If they're going to play and promote it as a track from the new album, they should just have it on there as a whole song. Sorry, these bonus songs annoy me, I hope, at least, that it has a track no. of its own, similar to those on the special version of the Snow Patrol album. I doubt that though. Before anyone mentions it, I thought the same about Life Is For Living.

What Is Your Favourite Coldplay Song & Why?
Amsterdam, just because its such a beautiful tune and, that's the best description I've seen of it, a reassuring message.
-
X&Y 9 out of 10 review in this weeks NME.
in fairness, NME said The Killers' album was good, I think I'll wait to hear it myself.
-
the song for your funeral
U2 - Wake Up Dead Man hmm, maybe not actually U2 - Walk On for sure.

Thirteen Senses
I wasn't that overly impressed on their album, though Into The Fire and Gone are very good. However, I saw them at the Cockpit in Leeds and they were superb, one of the best live shows I've seen. Go see them even if you don't have the album. Pity their current tour goes absolutely no-where near me, maybe I'll see them at V.
