  1. So something like the new Snow Patrol record which is made up mostly of reworked older material? I'd like to hear that at some point, but perhaps not yet... though I wouldn't be too upset if we got that before an album of entirely new music. It was indeed Jonny and Guy, which explains why most live performances have consisted of primarily Chris with Will singing backing vocals. o_O
  2. I went to bed soon after listening to the snippet and ended up dreaming about it. I dreamt that it was part of a very dreamlike (no pun intended) track, a mixture of Jon Hopkins-style ambient music and Davide Ross's violin with Chris singing something about "the break of day," kind of like Up With the Birds. It was really interesting. If you know the song Love Is All We Have Left from the last U2 album, it was much like that except with prominent strings. I love these Coldplay dreams. It has been too long since I last had one. "A Trip to the Moon" wouldn't be a bad album title... Yeah... I remember the teaser from AOAL making it sound like a psychedelic version of Violet Hill. How wrong we were, expecting it to not be much of a pop song. :joy: I kind of wonder if it'll be an interlude a la MMIX or Colour Spectrum. Or perhaps something like the intro to Violet Hill. That'd be an interesting theme... a trip from past to present. And a subsequent record could continue the journey from present to future.
  3. Viva Part 2? Well, whether that is the case or not, I'm loving these classical, antiquated vibes. Even if the clip is not an extract from the album, it may very well be a hint at what to expect. Ha, and I thought I was actually gonna get some sleep tonight
  4. Worst case scenario is we have to go through shady websites that rebroadcast the Tidal livestream. Unless, of course, you're willing to create a free trial account. So radio stations are getting ahold of something? I'm near Denver, I don't listen to 100.3 too often but I wonder if 93.3 will say something... they occasionally play older Coldplay, and I remember one of their DJs mentioning that they got to hear Ghost Stories several weeks in advance.
  5. I wonder if this will end up like the AHFOD teasing... that was fun but also agonizing :joy: I remember us folks here getting hyped up for official news or a single every Friday for a couple months straight before there was anything really substantial beyond photos from a video shoot and Amazing Day at the Global Citizen Festival.
  6. Album release in 2034... 19 years after AHFOD... confirmed :p
  7. How can one be so lucky... HOW did they know you specifically are a fan? Apart from maybe a previous purchasing history... Magic, perhaps? ;)
  8. Well, I was almost right. I just came across another post in a Facebook group from someone who said their son pointed out the # of videos. Looks like the band was perhaps periodically uploading videos rather than doing it all at once. It seems to me like almost every major album leaks before its release date. Prepare for this site to get even slower than it was a couple hours ago. :joy:
  9. Another bit I found on Facebook. Quite a clever observation, even if the similarities end up just being a coincidence.
  10. I'm seeing talk on Facebook about the band's YouTube account possibly having a new video uploaded but set to private until the proper time to release it. The person says there were 219 videos yesterday and now it says 220. Can't confirm it because I never paid attention to this one little number before, but it's worth noting what kind of speculation is going on.
  11. Sadly trolls like Kirboh are all too common out there... so I'm not too surprised. I've been around music fandom long enough now to see plenty of fake track lists, fake album titles, and the like. It's difficult to imagine the exact motivation behind it, but it's incredibly disappointing that K was likely present on this site. At least the alterations to the music video thumbnails and the Spotify videos are genuine. I find it quite intriguing that they chose these particular songs, perhaps you are onto something...
  12. I think it's worth noting that Nietzsche was born on October 15th, 1844 EDIT: corrected the year
  13. I always like coming back to this version of Moses. Best version of the song I've heard, and there are plenty of greats from that era. Just listen to Chris in that chorus... his voice isn't terrible nowadays, but I'm convinced he will never be able to hit a note quite like that "Baby IIIIIIIIIIIII......." again.
  14. Good job, Google!
  15. Ahh, thank you. Don't remember seeing that in the credits, but I'll look again. But knowing this makes me skeptical. It's possible the track was included as an easter egg, to hint at an eventual release. It's possible they didn't intend to use it again but ended up changing their mind. And it's also entirely possible that the rumor is illegitimate and the person who came up with it is just using an old track name to sound convincing. On another note, Fools Gold is an interesting choice for a title, since the phrase appears in the lyrics of Birds.
  16. Seems I picked a good time to pop back into this place. So I'm seeing a rumor right now about a track called The Race, and this title has been floating around since 2013. Supposedly it was one of the instrumental background tracks in the AHFOD film but I don't think that was ever confirmed. Source:
  17. Been exploring the music of Kraftwerk lately. Very long track but quite relaxing...
  18. Seeing Davide Rossi next to Phil is refreshing. Something is definitely in the works... correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think Rossi has done very much in the public eye for a couple years now.
  19. Fix You vs. Prospekt's March
  20. I'm just glad the version with Chris is finally seeing the light of day outside of leaks. I never liked the version with the other singer very much. Chris fits the song so much better.
  21. Is anybody else here a fan of Liam Gallagher's solo work? I've enjoyed As You Were since the day it was released, but over time it has become quite a special album for me. Like, "up there with Coldplay" and "better than the majority of Oasis' music" kind of special. I've All I Need in particular is one of my favorite songs of all time. And Liam's new single Shockwave has got me real hyped for his next album, which is due out later this year.
  22. I remember this title! Check out the 5 minute mark of this "Making of Ghost Stories" documentary video...
  23. Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground
  24. Correct! Moving to Mars connects with ALIENS in more ways than one. There's a shared theme of space travel, but there's also a common allegory of refugees fleeing their home. The song was played once in 2011 and never again. Moving to Mars was inspired by a Mat Whitecross documentary of the same name about Burmese refugees who move to the UK.
