1. This is what I'm hoping for. Something that brings the album full circle. AHFOD kind of did this with Colour Spectrum but I prefer the way The Escapist and O do it, since they are the album closers.
2. Watch a live performance of GPASUYF from the MX era, and you may see Chris spanghew his guitar. Nucleus
3. Sadly I didn't, I found one person's screen capture of the performance on YouTube but the video quality is too grainy to read the text. I'm really hoping the band posts an official recording.
4. I've been listening to the studio version of Everyday Life on repeat and honestly... wow. It's really beautiful. In terms of sheer beauty, it ranks up there with Gravity, Fix You, Fly On, Death And All His Friends, and the like. I adore the production. Jonny's E-bow especially steals the show here, it compliments those strings perfectly. The lyrics are beautiful, with what seems to be an REM reference (Everybody Hurts) in there. I still think the song ends too abruptly, but it all makes more sense to me in this studio version compared to the SNL performance. In time, this might end up being one of my favorite Coldplay album closers. This era is turning out to be really special. Wow.

6. Haven't listened to the studio version of Everyday Life yet, but it sounded great live. It ended so abruptly though... I was expecting something more like the ending of What If after that last chorus. It's a sweet song, and it does sound very Oldplay if you ask me.

8. I'm loving the band's live look for this era, really basic with a slightly old-fashioned vibe. Yeah, Chris didn't sound too great :joy: but it was fun to watch, I loved the folks with the lyric signs and the lyric video behind the band.
9. Was that "CONSCIOUS PILOT" on Chris's guitar strap?!?
10. Was that "CONSCIOUS PILOT" on Chris's guitar strap?!? Still need to listen to Everyday Life, gonna wait and see if they indeed play it later in the show.
11. Probably just Orphans and an older song... but who knows? They might surprise us with something we haven't heard yet. The band's love for the number 42 most likely comes from from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, in which 42 is the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything. They also reference this book in the Talk video, and with the song title Don't Panic. Chris claimed to have never read the book back in the day, but who's to say the rest of the band didn't suggest the reference and Chris just went along with it?
12. This has changed before, but after I finally got to see the band live for the first time in 2016, my favorite has been Fix You. Absolutely stunning, it blew me away more than any other song in that set... and there were several other songs that were strong contenders for best song of the night. And I've never really heard a bad version of the song from any other era. The song is amazing on X&Y, but it's something else live.
13. I just realized... during the "press conference," the upside down map appears exactly 42 seconds into the video. :D I don't think they ever really revealed the significance... but if I were to guess now, it's just because the album art is in black and white and they're trying to have that early 20th century look in this era.
14. Maybe the whole upside down thing is supposed to represent the rotation of the earth? That's all I can really think of without having the whole album to listen to for some context. Stranger Things: The Musical
15. You are a wonderful soul, thank you! I'll be watching anyways when I can but it'd be nice to see the bonus content later on. Can't thank you enough! I've been reminded of The World Turned Upside Down over and over during the promotion for this album and it doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon :joy: Band upside down on the top part of the cover, stuff flipped upside down in the Orphans video, now the world map literally turned upside down?!?
16. Oh my goodness... just saw the news about Jordan now. WE'RE GONNA HEAR ARABESQUE LIIIIIIIIVE
17. I'm so hyped for SNL... finally get to see the boys on stage again and get some confirmation of what this era's exact "look" is gonna be. Maybe an antique-looking piano for Chris (if they play a song that requires one) and the "wedding band" logo on Will's drums? On another note, I'd like to hear one more song and then nothing else until the album is released, so we have 13 brand new songs (14 if you count Flags, 15 if WOTW and POTP are separate songs that share a track) to listen to. I love getting to discover a bunch of new songs all at once... as much as I love Muse, it did annoy me when they released about half of Simulation Theory in advance. Heck, as much as I love Coldplay, it annoyed me when O and Ink were the only tracks from Ghost Stories that most of us hadn't heard by the time that album was released. Speaking of Simulation Theory, though... I think that's a perfect example of how Coldplay should experiment if they do an album that's very electronic. Maybe they should incorporate some of those Depeche Mode-style sounds if they decide to go for something more "accessible" like Mylo or AHFOD for LP9.

20. This is my idea for an X&Y double album that features the B-sides and unreleased songs from the AROBTTH tour. This track is listing is not final because I have to actually listen to everything in order so that I can see exactly how well everything flows together, but I think it's a good start. Square One What If White Shadows Fix You The World Turned Upside Down Talk How You See the World X&Y Proof Speed of Sound A Message Gravity Pour Me Low Sleeping Sun Moses The Hardest Part Things I Don't Understand Swallowed In the Sea Twisted Logic Til Kingdom Come I've always figured the early plan was for songs like Proof, Gravity, Pour Me, Solid Ground, Ladder to the Sun, and maybe even Moses. It's possible Fix You existed in 2003 or even late 2002 because that would've been during the aftermath of Gwyneth's father passing. And because Johnny Cash died in late 2003, perhaps we can assume that Til Kingdom Come (which was written for a collab with him) was around in some form. If this is true, then it would suggest that X&Y was originally supposed to be very mellow... and if that is indeed the case, then I'm actually glad there are some heavier and more upbeat moments on the final album like Talk and White Shadows.
21. Honestly? It sounds like Solid Ground.
22. Well... looks like they're going with GS-style promotion. Nothing wrong with that, I can't imagine them wanting to go on another 2 year long tour for a while. We should just be grateful for whatever shows they do decide to play during this era. :) Fingers crossed that I'll actually get to make it this time after the GS tour of small venues skipped over my part of the US in favor of cities like Los Angeles and New York. I have a bit more money now so maybe I'd be able to fly out with my girlfriend. It'd just have to be on a weekend so I don't miss university classes.
23. That's... actually disappointing. I thought for sure Jonny was in there somewhere. But yeah, it makes sense that he's credited because I'm assuming he was part of that original Arabesque jam 10-ish years ago which Chris wasn't a part of. And perhaps he came up with the riffs in demos of the song before handing them off to Drew Goddard. I'm realllllly hoping they play this amazing track live, though, so we can actually hear Jonny give it a go.
24. Now I see why there were no leaks :joy: View: https://www.instagram.com/p/B4IlUW2Au16/?igshid=1ljticf5dgd11
25. And if the rumor is true, then we're actually getting a brand new bonus track again instead of something we've heard before :) (the bonus track for AHFOD was just a re-release of Miracles)
