  1. Of course. Maybe they're just pulling the same shenanigans as 2015... almost complete social media silence, no news at all about the upcoming project--not even little teases.
  2. Well of course I'd like to sit around and chat But someone's listening in
  3. Band name: Lima Memorial Health System 1st album: Arthrodytes 1st single: GameChanger I'm liking this... :D
  4. Yes, I can change the world... but I can't change the world in me
  5. A bunch of great rare songs have already been mentioned! Reminds me that I should listen to them again. It has been a while. Hmm, what else...? Off the top of my head, I definitely recommend Pour Me, Animals, A Spell A Rebel Yell, Bucket For a Crown, and No More Keeping My Feet On the Ground. The original version of See You Soon is great, but the Live 2003 version is spectacular. Do give it a listen! And while Moses is one of the better-known "obscure" Coldplay songs, most people haven't heard this version. I think it's even better than the Live 2003 recording, which is the best-known version. The band is absolutely on fire.
  6. Nope. Good guess, though... I only just now remembered that Chris once played a solo version of the original Miracles at an event.
  7. Yay!!! I didn't know it was specifically written for someone, though. I mainly guessed just because there's an unreleased track, Your World Turns Upside Down, which obviously has a very similar title. Anyways... - Connects thematically with a very recent Coldplay song - Only played live once - Was inspired by a documentary film
  8. The World Turned Upside Down?
  9. Lost+ Yesssssss!!! @I ran away Back in the day, I loved these elimination games. So fun. :yum
  10. Arguably even cooler... ;) The bit starting at 0:48 sounds like 42...

Welcome back, my fellow returning member! As I've looked back into the music of Coldplay and fallen in love with it again, I've come to appreciate it in ways I didn't really appreciate it before. I may have always had a preference for "Oldplay," but something about Ghost Stories makes it perfect studying music for me. Very calm and introspective, with plenty of beautiful melodies. Especially stuff like Always in My Head, Midnight, Another's Arms, and Oceans.
  12. You can't be dead if you're just living in my head... :viva::rolleyes:
  13. Coldplay played in a supporting slot for U2, instead of headlining. And I do seem to remember Slane rumors as the AHFOD era was first getting off the ground. So there's got to be demand... Still, I honestly can't see the band playing a major show for a while. Maybe a tiny one-off kind of like Under One Roof in 2013, but not a massive concert like Slane Castle.
  14. I feel like Chris must know some music theory just from singing and writing songs for so many years. Perhaps he just doesn't see it in the same way your average musician would, because he never had formal training.
  15. Coldplay - obviously :yum Snow Patrol - new album Wildness is finally almost out and I'm honestly ecstatic... been waiting since Gary first mentioned a new LP back in 2012 U2 - Songs of Experience is their best effort in my lifetime. Powerful. Relevant. And badass. Incredible effort from a 42 year old band! Muse - among the best concerts I've ever been to. Incredible! Radiohead - fell in love with this band a few years ago and my interest hasn't waned by any stretch. OK Computer, Kid A, and In Rainbows are my musical holy trinity.

I'm not sure what is deeper... your post or Chris's voice in Yes. ;) For real, though. I feel so old fashioned for a millennial. I love paper mail. I love CDs. I love old VHS tapes my family still has.
  17. I wonder if the band is just plain tired at this point. The AHFOD era lasted 2 years with a ton of touring, lots of promo appearances, and an EP. I'd be exhausted, too! Maybe later this year they'll release Live 2017 in some form. Though I suppose it's also possible that the project will go the way of the Twisted Logic tour DVD and never be released. I hope that's not the case, but it's a possibility.

Hey, all. I doubt anybody here remembers me, but I'm back. Wow, has it been a long time! I got a little bored with Coldplay. I kind of outgrew the band I had listened to all the time for about 5 years straight. Recently started listening regularly again for the first time in about a year and a half and I think it's safe to say I'm falling back in love with them. ;) Plus, life came up, I changed, my interests changed, etc. Went through an angsty, depressed phase during my first year of college, which was when I was last active here. Said a lot of things I regret to people I cared about. But alas, I'm alive. :relieved: Just finishing up sophomore year at the moment. Have one more final exam to take and then I'm done.
  19. I really need to track down physical copies of those two EPs and Prospekt's March. I only have them on iTunes but they are wonderful and I ought to add them to my CD collection...
  20. That's my favorite version of Moses. Apart from a tiny part early on where it sounds like Jonny messes up, it's even better than the performance on Live 2003. The whole band is in top form.
  21. Fixed that. ;) Ghost Story is stuck in my head at the moment...
  22. I was talking to my brother on the phone yesterday and he mentioned some of his new friends' names from school (he's in seventh grade). Turns out he's friends with both a Chris and a Martin. :laugh3: I definitely remember this! :D I always loved that idea and I find it very efficient. It's like a ton of replies all in one. Does anyone who was here a year ago remember all of my double posts? ;) The forum's old vBulletin software must have hated me because a good portion of my posts were just unintentional duplicates. :P So honestly I probably haven't made 2,121 unique posts... only 1,500 or so. :laugh3: EDIT: This was my 2,121st post... 21 plus 21 equals 42. :awesome:
  23. Congratulations!!!!!!!! :D I hope you have an amazing time! :awesome:
  24. Nice to see you back as well :) I've been so busy as well with classes and homework, but hopefully I will have more free time this weekend to browse the forums!
  25. An awesome magician did a free show for students at my university this evening, so all I could think of was Magic and its music video. :D On a side note, one of my favorite non-Coldplay songs, Everything In Its Right Place by Radiohead, played in the background during part of the performance. That was a cool moment.
