U2 - Bullet The Blue Sky

If @gacbrandao decides to vote for What If, that would effectively cancel out my vote and the total votes would still be tied. I'm fine with either changing the rule or not, but if we change it there is a possibility that the round will end quicker.

Up In Flames Oh, if it weren't for that bland electronic drum tick-tocking over and over and over, I would want the song to last longer in this game. The melody, vocal delivery, and emotion are actually good in my opinion, but the drum pad really annoys me. Even most of GS utilizes it better.

I'm changing my vote from LiT ii to Don't Panic. What If has been a favorite since my first listen to X&Y. Don't Panic is less beautiful and it just doesn't have the same raw emotion. #ISavedWhatIf ;) I've been away for awhile so thankfully I haven't missed much!

Nice! I'm admittedly a person who prefers the Coldplay from Parachutes-Viva La Vida, but there are some bright spots in their newer work as well. I wouldn't say I hate ASFOS. Compared to other Coldplay songs, I believe they've done far better in the past but it is still a strong feel-good pop song. I prefer it over most of the stuff that's all over the radio. If you like reverse music, you should listen to The Scientist backwards if you have not done so already. I can't believe Chris learned how to sing the song that way!

Wow I have been very busy for the past couple of days and look what I missed! I think we now have an idea of what the album cover/the era's visuals might look like... that picture from Warner Music looks gorgeous. :heart:

I'm sure the label wants the money it could've made off of a full GS world tour. :angry: The quest to reach #1 is made into a much bigger deal by the industry/media than it needs to be.

Johnny Cash - I Walk The Line

Death And All His Friends It has a more beautiful melody but the lyrics and instrumentals aren't as passionate as those of Violet Hill. It doesn't have that crunching guitar solo where Jonny is playing something so simple yet aggressive at the same time. Other than GPASUYF live, Violet Hill is Coldplay's ultimate "rocking out" song.

Conor Oberst - Common Knowledge I didn't want to use the word "emotion" again and that's the only song I can think of with the word "common" in the title. It's a bit of an uncommon occurrence. :D

Aerosmith - Sweet Emotion That's an amazing bump right there, it's amazing that you rediscovered such a game. :D

U2 were my first concert, followed by The Fray, Snow Patrol, Muse, The Lumineers, U2 again, and Foo Fighters. Hopefully Coldplay and Radiohead are next!!! :happy2:

That interpretation is actually a bit ironic. The band went through a lot of worrying and over analyzing just when they were recording X&Y. They are their own biggest critics and for that reason they have never fully appreciated it. The album that they thought was sub-par and took for granted is loved by a lot of fans like myself.
