  1. When Chris was a child and did something wrong, what did he always say to his mother in order to stay out of trouble?
  2. Nooooooo!!!!!!!! Not Viva La Vida. :sad2: Our bloodless revolution did not succeed. :p My vote is for Life in Technicolor.
  3. Politik: "Open up your eyes" Twisted Logic: "Sunlight opened up my eyes / To see for the first time, it opened them up" Also... Talk: "Tell me how you feel" Twisted Logic: "Say what you feel like / Say how you feel"
  4. Sorry about that, I should have clarified that I was referring to Phil mentioning shows in France at the end of the year. I didn't mean to get your hopes down. :( I'm still hopeful, and all signs are pointing toward a single dropping soon so it would make sense to drop an album shortly afterward when they still have the world's attention. :)
  5. In 2012 they "confirmed" they would tour Latin America the following year. Look how that turned out... :/ I'm still hopeful that we will get an album by the end of the year.
  6. Think of Ryan Tedder. He's the lead singer of OneRepublic, a pop songwriter, and a producer who just so happened to work on some of the recent U2 album like Danger Mouse did. For a guy who has written many generic pop hits for other artists, his work as a producer is not bad. The U2 songs that he produced sound nothing like those poppy songs.
  7. I've never noticed this one before until now... Death Will Never Conquer and Now My Feet Won't Touch the Ground share a line: "Let me go, boys, let me go" Another unrelated case occurs with Rainy Day and Death And All His Friends. In both songs Chris mentions someone "coming over." That one is not surprising because School was moved from Rainy Day to DAAHF.
  8. Never trust Kpopstarz for your Coldplay news. Smh. :(
  9. The official lyrics for Pour Me use "poor me" instead of "pour me" so in a way that song also works. :D :P
  10. The Goldrush mentions gold many times but it doesn't contain "goldrush" nor the more grammatically correct "gold rush." So, it should count.
  11. Very well said, @ I Ran Away. I have two Coldplay t-shirts but I don't wear them often. I see people and subcultures who wear band merchandise everyday and everywhere they go and I honestly think it's sad... they really feel the need to identify themselves by their (insert band name here) fandom rather than their character. What one enjoys influences how they view the world, but it shouldn't influence how the world views them.
  12. Ghost Stories wasn't finished until after Magic was dropped. We can still get a single before the finishing touches are added to the rest of the album. It makes sense to have the single ready to go before anything else.
  13. The synths and electronic drums in Another's Arms are what annoy me. I don't like how loud the synths are in the mix and Chris' vocals are a little too soft for my taste. I liked the first live version but on the record I was very disappointed. The song needs to be more of a raw piano ballad (with the exception of the prominent voice sample, it can be kept). Do away with all of the electronics. Jonny's guitar solo is the only thing I like about the studio recording.
  14. I do hope that Prospekt's March/Poppyfields stays alive for a while longer. After The Escapist is gone, I fear that it's next. :( If I can find one real flaw in VLVODAAHF, it's the lack of that song. When I listen to the album I always add it in between Lost! and 42.
  15. The Escapist It's one of two songs that my user name comes from so of course I enjoy it but alas, it is the weakest song remaining in the game so it's time for it to go and make its escape!
  16. By the way, I like these new rules a lot better! Now the thread won't die off after a few days. I also feel like we have more freedom to give different songs a chance.
  17. My mistake, I thought I saw it. I must be losing it from this long wait for AHFOD. ;) Please change my 8 points from What If to Speed of Sound. :D
  18. Warning Sign - 12 points Rainy Day - 10 points What If - 8 points
  19. + The melody is so sweet and the band did a great job of adding those beautiful strings to a raw acoustic song. I also love the Poppyfields-style guitar at the end that leads into Princess of China - The track is way too short. Violet Hill
  20. I like Amazing Day but an album full of Miracles clones? Please, no. I am hopeful, though, that Stargate is letting Coldplay do a lot of the work in achieving whatever sounds they want. In other words, let Coldplay be adventurous! Don't confine them to your genre. Follow the example of Brian Eno and Jon Hopkins. They are known for their ambient music but there are really only two ambient tracks in Coldplay's entire discography: The Escapist and Midnight.
  21. I think they don't approve of Spies because they believe the lyrics encourage citizens to avoid their watchful eyes and run from them like "fugitives." Which I think is stupid because 1. I believe in free speech and 2. if I recall correctly the song is inspired by the James Bond films. Spies is harmless, with no real-life political connotation! :/
