  1. Lol  I attended the Avalanche and Bruins game on Wednesday (I support the Avs) and it was quite embarrassing. Our goalie Semyon Varlamov can be great (maybe not as great as Carey Price) but the defense and line chemistry were pathetic so 5 goals went by him before he was pulled out. I wish I could've had a reason to sing a player's name to the tune of Paradise.
  2. I heard Clocks on the radio as a young kid, and I heard Yellow, Viva La Vida, and Paradise on the radio over the next 9 years but despite liking those songs I wasn't too interested. Someone also sang The Scientist at a school talent show but I never knew it was a Coldplay song! The first song that actually made me interested in discovering Coldplay was Speed of Sound. My first Coldplay album was a 7 year-old used copy of X&Y from a record store.
  3. Sigh... This poor game feels dead once again. :(
  4. I've listened to MX and GS consecutively and you're right, the same effect is there. Of course, there are thematic differences because GS is far more personal for Chris, but they flow well nonetheless. I would prefer to listen to GS first, because the optimistic "Good things are coming our way" lyrics in Up With the Birds don't quite flow well into GS. AHFOD should fit in there somewhere, though. It might be interchangeable with MX when it comes to the color and happiness.
  5. Don't worry, I think Paradise will be safe until round 3 or so. ;) In round 1, POC and Up in Flames will probably go, and in round 2, I think DLIBYH and ETIAW will likely go.
  6. That's a wonderful idea! I'd love to finally have studio recordings of Solid Ground, Bloodless Revolution, A View From the Top, Famous Old Painters, Ladder to the Sun, Harmless, A Ghost, Don Quixote, a certain song with the initials CK... :p The list goes on! Why not release the acoustic MX leftovers, some of the 42 scrapped X&Y songs, and turn Prospekt's March into a full album? I like @Archiderp's idea of Night and Day... I will definitely try listening to GS (including Atlas, Ghost Story, and All Your Friends) and AHFOD consecutively.
  7. Cemeteries of London I've had to really think about this one... I might change my mind.
  8. Maybe for all orders scheduled to arrive on the 21st, they'll throw in a free vinyl copy of A Head Full of Dreams with a big sticker on the sleeve saying "Including Coldplay's new single, The Ballad of Marty McFly!"
  9. Glass of Water Make it a #PerfectDay and #SaveStrawberrySwing. :D
  10. Square One - 12 points Talk - 10 points Bloodless Revolution - 8 points (I didn't realize that one is on the list! It deserves a vote. ;))
  11. I know this was a day ago, but thank you very much, Saket! Your insight is very much appreciated. :) Ahh, so a pop rock song with a big chorus, electronic drums, and a piano hook. That doesn't sound too much like Oldplay to me, but I'm going to wait until I actually hear the song before I begin to compare it with Miracles. Even my initial reaction to the song will probably differ from how I feel about it one year from now. I may despise it and have it grow on me, or I may love it and then get bored of it. Time will tell.
  12. I'm going to be casually optimistic here... let's take this as a good sign of what's coming soon rather than automatically picking Monday as the big day. Remember, now Friday is when singles are released for purchase, and the band can drop the song on YouTube whenever they want. Who knows, "the next few days" could refer to Monday, tomorrow, or anytime in the next week.
  13. Clocks - 12 points Death And All His Friends - 10 points Viva La Vida - 8 points
  14. I'm not sure about the entire album, but there could be a song or two on AHFOD that reaches the level of AROBTTH. We'll see. Maybe they'll pull off another Ghost Story type of track.
  15. Yes!!!! Thank you, that is great to hear! The lineup of headliners is already looking great. Coldplay and Foo Fighters in the same year...
  16. Me neither... I'm approaching that tweet with caution! I would be very happy if it were true but I don't know if that person is a reliable source. For all we know, they could've just been saying something for attention... like certain people have done on this forum. (I trust you, @AwardChris, and people from the video shoot in India, so please don't take that like I'm referring to you)
  17. I think so! I don't want to get my hopes up too much but if there is a prominent Indian influence, we could have a slightly more pop-flavored Viva or a more musically adventurous MX... good things are coming our way. :)
  18. Give this poor glass of water a chance and vote for Lovers in Japan. :D
  19. Nooooo not Strawberry Swing! It was such a perfect day until now. :(
  20. Double post If only each of those votes would count twice. :p
  21. I think I'll help out Viva La Vida. It deserves some love. :) Speed of Sound - 12 points Viva La Vida - 10 points Midnight - 8 points
  22. We all know Jonny probably wanted to. :D ;)
