  1. There is a computer game called The Escapists where you play as a prisoner and try to break out. Of course I always think of The Escapist when I play that game. :D
  2. Yellow (official) vs In My Place live in Toronto 2006
  3. Aww, Rainy Day is probably not going to survive this round. :( It's so fresh and imaginative, but Viva La Vida is still the better song. I am voting for Rainy Day in order to keep Viva La Vida alive.
  4. Interesting... I just found out today that Parachutes is banned in China. It is supposedly because their government does not approve of Spies...
  5. Well said! I would take Miracles, Amazing Day, or any song from Ghost Stories (even the ones I don't like) over just about all modern pop music.
  6. Rainy Day, like Viva La Vida, is strings done right in my opinion. Davide Rossi did an amazing job on the song. I also love the weird vocal effects in the verses! If I had change anything about the track I would make it longer.
  7. Ken Nelson. I think he ended up fitting better with what Coldplay wanted Parachutes to sound like. I enjoy his crisp, raw production style on the album. The Nelson-produced version of Don't Panic is better than the Chris Allison version in my opinion. Kylie Minogue vs Rihanna
  8. Yes!!!!!!!!! :) He's old and crazy and there are two possible answers because the song has two names!
  9. Yes, this is some twisted logic indeed but you're still not quite there... :p Pay attention to the second hint if you don't understand the first. The key words are weather and dry.
  10. There are two possible answers; I will accept either one.
  11. I'm going to give another hint: no matter what the weather is like in my homeland, I always stay dry. :D
  12. Remember they did an extensive festival tour plus two stadium shows in 2011 before MX was even released. The first festival appearance was almost 5 months prior to dropping the album. If they want to, they theoretically can release a single this year, play a few shows to test the new songs, and then release AHFOD in February. Of course, I would not like hearing songs live that far in advance. Also, Rik Simpson seems to be hinting that the album is almost ready to go.
  13. I knew it! :D Here's my riddle: I'm old but young at heart. I'm from a little town but I aim to brighten the world. I know I'm crazy but I have to pretend to be sane. Who/what am I?
  14. The World Turned Upside Down! "365 degrees" :)
  15. ^ Lol  We Never Change vs Wonderwall (Oasis)
  16. We Never Change vs Nightswimming (R.E.M.)
  17. I know I post a lot in this thread about hearing Coldplay songs in class but today it was Yellow and Fix You back to back!!!! :happy2: Then, right after those two, Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead came on. Three amazing songs in a row.
  18. 1. Their decision to almost entirely scrap the acoustic LP5 and keep only a couple of those songs on MX. 2. Bad production on some newer material (DLIBYH, True Love, and Another's Arms have the worst in my opinion). I firmly believe that there are great songs in there somewhere, but they only shine through live. 3. No acoustic drums on Ghost Stories. A couple of tracks manage just fine without them like Oceans and Fly On, but otherwise they are sorely needed. 4. Cancelling the 2013 Latin American tour. Of course I do not live there but I'm sure a lot of those fans were quite upset. 5. No chances for Guy to sing lead vocals on any part of a song. 6. Never releasing gems like Ladder to the Sun, Don Quixote, Wedding Bells, Sweet Marianne, The Dubliners, and A View From the Top.
  19. Ok, now that we know the single is most likely coming sometime this month, we can sit back and relax. The suspense is killing us but that's only because we're letting it happen. We still have a new song to tie us over until the real single drops, so that's enough freaking out over little tidbits of unproven and unofficial "news." Some of that, like ov3la's source, is encouraging stuff that I for one am glad to hear. :) But we are taking everything too seriously and getting all worked up over a song we have never even heard.
  20. Concerning Yes, I think the basis of a good song is there. I enjoy Chris' experimentation with those deep vocals. However, the lyrics don't fit well with the rest of the album, there is that cliche oriental feel as you mentioned above, and the album version sounds neutered without Jonny's solo from the live performances.
  21. Double post. Aww, I have been doing great with those until now!
  22. Midnight vs Discotheque (U2) Can anyone guess why I'm using that specific U2 song after YMCA? :D
