Hey everyone! I am looking for great Classic-Modern literature suggestions. Books that have left a mark on you and that you think anyone should read. Right now I am trying to enter to a little literature gathering group so as a entrance test I must propose a book for everyone to read. I've been thinking already of a few books but I thought some of you must have some wonderful suggestions too. :) And please! try not to come up with something of Paulo Cohelo or Dan Brown.

  4. ...because controlling interest rates in the EU nations just isn't enough. http://blogs.forbes.com/face-to-face/2010/04/29/ecb-president-favors-global-governance/ Look at that statement I bolded. This guy sounds just like Alan Greenspan. Talking about contradictions wrapped in enigmas, nestled in a sesame-seed bun of bullshit. And then he inevitably concludes more power must be given to politicians and bureaucrats, and everyone swoons at how intelligent he is, and what a difficult decision that must have been for him to make. In response to his three points: 1. What he's actually saying here is that there must be a way to employ as many bureaucrats as…

  7. Labour on course for worst poll result in 92 years as support crashes to just 24% By James Chapman Last updated at 1:01 AM on 1st May 2010 Comments (0) Add to My Stories Labour is braced for its most disastrous election showing since 1918 as the Cabinet prepares to tell Gordon Brown to quit next week. A Daily Mail poll reveals Labour support has crashed to 24 per cent following the Prime Minister's 'bigot' gaffe and his lacklustre performance in the final TV debate. But it provides cold comfort for David Cameron - putting his party on 33 per cent, just one ahead of the Liberal Democrats. Meet the glums: Mr Brown …

Where did you park the car, honey? Mercedes left dangling seven storeys up after smashing through wall By Mail Foreign Service Last updated at 11:35 AM on 29th April 2010 Comments (128) Add to My Stories A motorist had a narrow escape after he reversed his car through a brick wall on the seventh floor of a multi-storey car park. The 67-year-old driver got his foot stuck between the brake pedal and the accelerator as he tried to reverse into a spot in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His white Mercedes C-class immediately shot backwards, picking up enough speed to smash through the external wall of the Bank of America multi-storey. Don't look down…

Stupid question, but my scrolling is off and I can't figure out how to turn it back on  It's my laptop's touch mouse pad thingy, and it has a bar on the right side that when you slide your finger up and down over it, it'll scroll. But yesterday it turned off and I can't get it back on. I went to the mouse settings, but it didn't have anything for it. :\

I know he's paid a lot of speak and he sold some copies of that "Inconvenient Truth" documentary, but that can't account for all of it. I get the feeling he's got some buddies in the carbon credit trading business, probably at Goldman Sachs.

  15. California bans Happy Meal toys at McDonald's restaurants over fears they boost child obesity By David Gardner Last updated at 6:06 PM on 28th April 2010 Comments (0) Add to My Stories Happy Meals are soon going to come with a sad surprise for children in the US. Lawmakers in California have voted to ban toys from being served up with McDonald’s burgers and fries. Officials claim the free goodies, often promoting a new film or popular cartoon characters, lure children into eating foods with high sugar, sodium and fat. The measure is the first of its kind to be proposed to battle an obesity epidemic sweeping California and the rest of …

His warning of a capital flight comes after a decade which has seen affluent Reds-to-Riches billionaires buying up property, investing their vast fortunes, and using London as their gateway to the West.
