busybeeburns
[EDIT: Normal service is resumed - please post your albums here and not via PM - makes for a more interesting discussion!] Its that time of year again. The cold, dark winter nights are drawing in (unless you're lucky enough to be in Australia!) and you start to think about the year gone by. Whilst you're in that reflective mode, we'd like to pick your brains because its time to launch: [highlight=red:427c5f7730]The Coldplaying.com favourite 50 albums of 2004 poll[/highlight:427c5f7730] Having seen the debates in the UK Music Hall of Fame threads, this could become very interesting!! Whether Robbie floats your boat, Kylie gets you singing, Brian Wilson makes you smile, or Status Quo get you rocking, we want to know which albums you rate. Here's how it works: Post your top albums in preference order, so 1 is your ultimate favourite album of the year. The list will be collated on or shortly after 19th December, and the best album will be decided by the least number of points depending on the positions you put them (1st place = 1pt, 2nd = 2pts etc) The Rules: You can choose any number of albums between 5 or 50. Compilations, Greatest Hits and soundtracks are allowed. Re-released and digitally re-mastered albums aren't allowed. Neither are albums re-released with an extra song or 2. Sorry but Katie Melua & Jamie Cullum will have to miss out! Only albums which were released in the UK or US during 2004 will count. If you wish to make comments about your choices, please do so after your list. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sample post: 1) My favourite album of 2004 is: Around the Sun - R.E.M 2) Hopes & Fears - Keane 3) How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb - U2 4) American Idiot - Green Day 5) Robbie Williams - Greatest Hits 6) Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Soundtrack 7) Final Straw - Snow Patrol 8) Peachtree Road - Elton John 9) Wide Open Spaces - Dixie chicks 10) Scissor Sisters - Scissor Sisters My favourite album of 2004 is R.E.M because I really like their music, and I think Michael Stipe's shiny head is ace! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So if you think you can do better than the above list of top albums, get posting now!
