Its 9 days until Christmas, and it really doesnt feel like it.

 

Now, I cant speak for the rest of the world, but here in Ireland and Britain generally, the hype for upcoming Christmas has been similar to the hype of a government conspiracy, or when a tree falls in the forest, and no-one hears it.

 

Last Christmas sucked generally because of over-hype, shelves had christmas stock in by the end of AUGUST, and it was at that ridiculous stage that radio and TV were reminding us that theres only 72 shopping days left until Christmas.

 

And we're at the stage now where nobody seems to care. Why is that? Even little kids dont seem to care a whole lot that Santa Clause will come knocking with presents this year, its all quite a sad affair really.

 

Anyone relate to this years under-hype of Christmas?

yeah, it really doesn' feel like christmas

the only thing i'm saying that i'm already getting sick of christmas. it's my fav time of the year but it's just everywhere all the time and it takes the glow of it. or something i don't know how to express myself.

I love the whole atmosphere that surrounds it, but Christmas Day just feels like any other day to me now. I've come to the stage where I prefer Boxing Day, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

 

And it does seem pretty watered down this year. It still doesn't feel like Christmas yet.

i don't know how it is in england but in finland the "biggest" day actually is the eve. instead of the actual christmas day, as in the 25th. :confused:

It's beginning to feel a-not like christmas!!

It's true we got like 9 days left, and I've not thought about it a great deal...except Jessy is coming to spend it with me...that bit I'm looking forward to...but the whole glitz and glamour Christmas had when I was a kid has faded...tho Christmas day is fun when I spend it with my nephews cos u get to relive the whole fun aspect through them...plus they get neat toys that I can play with...

Oh Doogie, I dont expect Christmas to be like how it was when you were a child, but at least last Christmas the holiday got an actual MENTION, this year theres nothing to be excited about.

 

Like I said, most of the kids I've seen arent too pumped about it either. Its like, we've all united in forgetting Christmas.

yeah, guess apathy has kicked in after, like you say, the over hype of previous years. End of the day, it's just another day...same thing is true with New Years, but for some reason its bad to be alone for these days, when all they are is just another day.

meh. I could care less about Christmas. I actually hate the whole put-up-the-tree and string-the-christmas-lights things. :dozey:

yeah winters gone a bit weird...ive seen two trees in blossom this week..that shouldnt happen, and at the bus-stop there were flies (like gnats) flying around...as if the tempurature was warm enough for them to hatch...they must've got a shock at night.

it feels like winter right now. although the weather has been the most bizarre today. it was raining this morning, then this afternoon we had a freak monsoonal hailstorm with freakily stong winds, followed almost immediately by dazzling sunshine, followed half an hour later by a thunderstorm!! :o

apprently there was a tornado too
