Yay Im not the only one who acknowledges how terrible the Simpsons has been for the past 2 or 3 years. I think I took a dip around season 10 (Which was around 2000) into averageness, for maybe a season or two, and then it just got terrible, awful, stupid humour. I hate the way they have to include every simpsons character in every scene, and how they over-use characters like Disco Stu and Cletus, its fucking terrible. I also hate the way the kids act like their 35, even the baby has way too many facial expressions, and the animals are like people. Its a circus, every slightly illegal action gets picked up by the police (Who have been 100% ON FIRE the past 2 seasons) and then taken to court, every fricken episode ends in court, completely running out of ideas.

 

The worst episode ever is the one where Bart gets divorced from his parents, and ends up living in a broken down apartment building, and ends up going to the top floor of the crappy building in Springfield and there he finds TONY HAWK having a skate party. The episode ends in a skating battle between Hawk and Homer.......................... Yeah.

 

Bart: "I'd like to get a divorce from my parents."

Attorney: "YOUWHA?"

Bart: "I wanna get a divorce from them!"

Attorney: "I know, I was just calling my assistant. Ewa, please get the standard child-parent divorce papers." *PAUSE FOR LAUGHTER*

 

Is that what passes for comedy? Every good joke is killed, or made really really stupidly obvious. OK Im OK Im calm...

 

Aaaanyway Im not too confident about this Gervais episode. I mean, the song idea, its beginning to sound bad already.

 

You must remember that although Gervais is a decent comedian (And its hard to be that good) and wrote a new and wonderful style of humour which is now being ripped off, he is far from being a versatile writer. This could be terrible...

Yes, that is a terrible episode. One thing I forgot to mention in my RANTING VENTING RAGE is the recycling of old jokes into new episodes, that one kinda does it in reference but still other episodes just blatantly steal.

 

I am excited about the Gervais episode totally though, I wanna see what comes out. Its definately something to look forward to, in comparison with not looking forward to new episodes on Sky, at all.

I can't even pick a low point from the past few seasons. Where do I even start? The "Bodybuilder Marge" episode? The "Marge gets breast implants" episode? The one where Homer hires a detective to investigate Lisa? The "Homer lives with gay guys" episode? The one where Homer builds a fighting robot that's actually him?

 

*sigh* I'm dreading the day when there will be more bad episodes than good ones.
