New Travis album announced

 

Fran Healy was interviewed on 6 music tonight and he announced everything regarding the new album. He said it was called "The Boy With No Name" and it's out on May 7th and the new single is out on 23rd April, he didn't say, but I assume it's going to be Big Chair. Oh he also mentioned that the duet with KT Tunstall isn't on the album, but hopefully it will be a b-side.:D

Can't wait for the new album. Presumably there will be a tour sometime after the release and hopefully they will consider coming to NZ.

Anyway the first single to be released is called 'Closer' and it is currently playing on their myspace if you are interested in hearing it now.

i cannot wait. travis have been away for far too long. big chair is a grower, fantastic, and i'm just listening to closer now, and i am loving that, 1st time through. they're not going for the grand effect, it's a bit twee, almost belle and sebastian esque in places, but thats good. in my books anyway.

 

i love the production on the two tracks i've heard so far. nigel godrich comes up trumps again. nx

I just bought my own copy of The Invisible Band last week and yes, it's definitely my favourite Travis album

Just got my copy of 'Good Feeling' today to complete my collection to date.

Hadn't ever seen it in any shop here so finally managed to find it (at least a legal version of it anyway haha) on Trademe (NZ version of ebay).

$3 NZ (about 1 pound), can't go wrong can you?
