Doctor Who ???......

Featured Replies

I went back just before the war episode aired and watched all of River's episodes in the order she would have experienced them in. And holy crap, does it ever actually work that way. (How does Moffat do that???) And it's so sad too, up to 'time of angels' (where she's clearly a lot older than the next/last time we saw her at the Pandorica and she's finally seen an older version of the Doctor recently), every time she tells the doctor anything, every time we finally learn something about her going through in the Doctor's order, she's just lost that and she can't get it back. No wonder she makes such a point of being mysterious, it's got to hurt that everything she lets out is another piece of her life being eaten away. She'll just be getting onto good terms with the younger Doctor and he's starting to like her, and then the next time she sees that version of him he's all angry and grumpy and wary at her for things she hasn't even experienced yet, and he gets really annoyed by little things she does that he normally likes.

And then, when I got back to silence in the library, the part where she asks the Doctor if he even knows her and he just asks "who are you?" I actually cried a little. That whole story is so different now. (Also, I can't help but wonder if they are a couple if she's frustrated she never really gets anything more than a picnic with that version of him, since 11 was the first one who made out with her. :sneaky: )

And then you see "A good man goes to war" and dive back into her future, and oh my goodness.

No wonder she's smug. She gets to run around with her parents when they were all young and pretty and thinking she's just this cool strange older woman. Just imagine if you could say things to your mom and dad that you'd never normally get away with and tease them about who they aren't yet. It would be hard to resist.

Look at the scene at the end of day of the moon where she's shooting all the silents, then sees Rory watching her and says "my old man didn't see that, did he? He gets ever so cross." I though she was talking about the Doctor, but really she's teasing Rory because she can show off for her Dad without him getting angry about it. There are scenes like that all over the place, where her meanings change once you know what she's talking about.

And then there's the other moments with Rory and Amy like when she's talking about ice skating and for a moment she gets to be a little girl babbling at her dad about her day. (Something that didn't happen much in her actual childhood?) Or breaking into the Silent's ship where she's telling him about her timeline with the Doctor, but really she's talking about him and Amy too. It's kind of heartbreaking. If she let on who she really was, she wouldn't exist as she is. I couldn't imagine getting to talk to my mom right when I really needed to talk to her and have her not even know me or have a clue I'll ever exist; not being able to give her a hug when I really needed it. It's gut wrenching.

I really hope Rory isn't the person she killed. It looks like that's going to be the case from things people are saying and the way she's acting, and I really don't want him to die. (Again.)

...Captain Jack was in America on a big fancy Torchwood mission. He would have come if he could, but he was already busy. (iirc, the Moff said so himself on twitter.) I so want Captain Jack back for a bit next season. I'm dying to see what he'll think of the current version of the Doctor. Besides, he was Moffatt's character originally, it would be cool to see what it's like with him writing for Jack again. We might find out what the deal with his missing time was.

GREAT POST ... spacecadet

Just started to rewatch River Song's episodes in her order :awesome:

that's what study leave is for right?

I'll have to watch them in that order as well... As soon as the exams are over :whip:

I should wait as well but I just can't resist :bomb:

Holy Crap! My old River Song is a former time agent like Jack theory might have some substance after all....

@brigitsmith Brigit Smith

@steven_moffat What would it be like if River Song and Jack Harkness met...? This needs to become a reality.

@steven_moffat Steven Moffat

@brigitsmith He'd say, who are you? She'd whisper in his ear. He'd go white and salute.

Our electric is going off today, so no doctor who

I guess I am free to talk without spolier tags now.

Don´t you all think it feels like one massive episode into one huge story,??? most likley the best ever. Moffart it seems has stuck two fingers up to the happy clappers who say this needs to be light entantiarment. I have to say, this is the most amazing TV I have ever seen.

I thought the days of RTD could not be eclipised.

I actually stopped watching Doctor Who sometime during Martha's episodes

then this year I started watching repeats of series 5 and now I'm obsessed all over again.

Loads of people seem to hate Moffat, he said on twitter he's been getting loads of abuse and death threats from people because they prefer RTD :uhoh:

i'm looking forward to the second part of the series but the ending of the last episode left me lukewarm, if you know what i mean.

can't believe moffat's so hated. what the actual fuck.

  • 3 weeks later...

After hearing a lot about Dr Who (for years! :shame:), I recently gave in and watched the 1st episode of the 5th season, after that I couldn't stop! Must've seen all season 5 & what we have so far of s6 within a couple of weeks. It's a long wait until new episodes come so I'm considering watching the previous seasons too, when Billie Piper was Rose... are they any good?

I just finished watching seasons 1-6!!!!!! (well, what there is of 6)

On to Torchwood :escaping2: Allons-y!!

I really enjoyed the previous seasons. There are some fantastic episodes ("The Empty Child" is one of my favorites) you definitely don't want to miss. :D

WHERE'S the Tardis when you need it?

Karen Gillan, who stars as Amy Pond in Doctor Who, was reportedly found naked in a New York hotel corridor after a night of riotous partying.

Gillan, 23, who plays the Time Lord’s assistant, was seen "whimpering" in the nude by guests at 7am before security arrived, wrapped her in a sheet and escorted her to her room, the Daily Mail reports.

Gillan and her Doctor Who co-stars, including title character actor Matt Smith, were staying at The Ace, one of Manhattan’s trendiest hotels, on a promotional trip.

After fulfilling their duties, the cast and crew enjoyed "one long party,"according to fellow guests. One permanent male guest told the Daily Mail he heard someone trying to open his door at 7am.

The resident, who later identified the stranger as Miss Gillan, said: "I went to the peephole and looked out. I saw a man at the lift who was looking back at someone who was attempting to open my door… the next thing I saw was a woman giving this person at my door two towels before getting into the lift and leaving.

"Then I saw this young woman, completely naked, trying to wrap two towels around her and not having much luck.

"She then started to whimper and knock on my door. Seeing that she wasn’t getting anywhere, she lay down with the towels covering her."

Security arrived, noticed her room key and wrapped her up and took her back to her suite. The resident added: "I never saw Lady Godiva again."

Suzanne Leonara, another resident, said: "This girl looked as though she hadn’t been to bed. Everyone who saw her thought she was completely zonked out."

The trip, organised by BBC Worldwide, the corporation’s commercial arm, took place in April.

Last night a BBC Worldwide spokesman said: "We’re unaware of this alleged incident."

Gillan’s spokesman declined to comment.

I would have let her in.

The headline should have been "Dr. Nude":P

I would have let her in.

Me too !

and I would have put her on my bed and me sleep on the sofa.. and hope once she wakes up, and realises she was not molested she would fall in love with me...

I probably would of let her in, mostly because I'd feel sorry for her and she's really pretty

Does that mean you wouldn't if she weren't?:P

There'd be an awkward silence then I'd just cut out a lock of her hair in an un-creepy kind of way :dazzled:

hahaha this is hilarious and pretty weird, I can't imagine her naked in a corridor , for god's sake she is amy pond!!! haha
