i miss some bands in it,but it rocks and the sunday bloody sunday performance from red rocks 83 on the 18 singles dvd is unbelievable amazing,it has one of the best lyrics of all songs ever written

u2 rocks my friggin' socks.

i absolutley love man and a woman.

such a beautiful song.

YOU . . . obviousy have taste. Good taste. No . . . exceptional taste.

the windows in the skies video with the various artists is really good imo, the better of the two. i can't get enough of the song, i even heard it on the radio at work and pretended i had to get something so i could hear it all the way through lol yes my work is deprived of music, the cafe just let's the shopping mall music play so basically bad late 90s music on repeat *shudders*

the other clip is alright, it's good, but ^ one is way better.

I'm not a huge fan of A Man and a Women. Probably my least favourite song on HTDAAB but it is still a great song.

right, cant stop listening to the whole war

War is a great album, one of my favourite albums of all time. I absolutely love Red Light and Surrender.

Why is it hardly anyone likes this song, I like it! Granted its not the best on the album but I wouldnt say its the worst ....coughonestepclosercough

Haha One Step Closer isn't the best either but I don't know, its just so soothing.....

mine too, sunday bloody sunday is my currently fav

with or without you is my fav!!!:)

Love Man and a Woman, sometimes I'll listen to it just once and it'll stick in my mind for the rest of the day.

I think if it weren't for my constant listening to 'War' when I went to Ireland the first time I wouldn't care so much about U2, they'd just be "one of those bands I like" instead of the definative one for my life :laugh4: I remember listening to 'Drowning Man' as we drove to and from the Cliffs of Moher and..... it was just almost a religious moment. Beautiful song.

The Refugee is my favorite, though, no one seems to like that one either! I used to dance to it a lot haha

Haha the Refugee is probably my least favourite song on that album but......I also love it because it just sounds so retro. Bono's vocals on it are different from any other song they've done in my opinion.

I think it's a really dated song, probably why I love it. Like it's definately different from everything else. People who say all U2 songs sound the same, yeah well ok why don't you compare Refugee to I have no idea, 'One' or 'With Or Without You' completely different. And yes, still the same band.

u2 has gone through SO many changes it's unbelievable. They're a different band on each album, so that's pretty much why I can't understand why anyone thinks that they have the same sound all the time. Obviously have never listened to the music. ;)

Psh.

Anyhoo, haha I love how your least favorites are still great! :laugh4: Same for me, like there are songs that I just don't listen to as much anymore, or ever had, but I still love them?

Plus the drum part of the Refugee is just great. Yeap.

Yeah the thing with U2 is no matter what they do there is always this underlying factor that makes them sound like U2. But Boy you have songs like I Will Follow and Electric Co. which are completely different from October and Tomorrow.

And then the whole Unforgettable Fire album is just so different from their first 3 albums. Its just Bono improvising lyrics. I read most of the songs were much longer than what is on the album but they had to trim them down.

Then you get to the 90s era, those albums are so much different than the 80s stuff, more electronic, bigger guitars, more distortion. And then you get to the 00s and you have a U2 sound unlike their previous 20 years.

People who say that U2 sound the same every album obviously haven't listened to every album.

Or haven't listened to ONE album! Because I mean..... There are songs that sound completely different from each other on all of the albums... But they always do remain themselves.

Heard the same thing about 'Fire', yeap. haha, I love reading the stories about the making of that album, interesting definately... Makes the album that much more dynamic.

Agreed to everything else you've said. I mean comparing Achtung Baby to October is impossible. Seriously, completely different band. It's incredible.

Yeah its almost like how the Bends is to Kid A for Radiohead, just completely different.

I got the U218 book for Christmas and it was really neat to read the stories behind all the songs....and not just Vertigo and SYCMIOYO. :P

I agree with all of your comments! I've only recently become a U2 fan (I really have NO IDEA how I didn't notice them all these years!!!) I had heard their radio hits of course, but I didn't have a clue about the depth of their talent. I picked up a copy of "Rattle & Hum" DVD on sale about 1 1/2 years ago and was just blown away. So I downloaded the "Complete U2" from iTunes - and I was hooked completely. I also am absolutely amazed at the variety of music they've made. I can honestly say that I don't think there's a song they've done that I don't like! I've really enjoyed downloading their concerts/bootlegs and stuff and even went to my first U2 concert in Honolulu this year. I just hope they keep on for many more years so I can make up for lost time!

Well judging from your avi and sig I'd have never guessed you were new to 'em ;) heh heh

Ooooh Rattle & Hum, I truly believe that could make a fan out of everyone! I haven't watched that in so long, I think I'll stick it in right now (if I can find it! :uhoh: shoot! lmfao)

Boston Elevation made my cousin a fan. I use that DVD to try and get people hooked.

I used Live at Slane Castle to convince my mom to let me get GA tickets to the October gig. That made her a fan! :laugh4:

Thats awesome. I hope to get GA tickets at some point in life. Did it help your case when you told your mom GA tix are the cheepest. :P
