June 9, 200521 yr U2 are my #1. Off to see them at Croke Park, back on the ould sod in a few weeks. The first time I heard a note of Coldplay's music was when I was in the queue for the toilet at Slane and they were playing support. 'Everyting's Not Lost' was amazing. I've seen U2 dozens of times & whereas I think that comparisons are unfair at this stage, Coldplay have a long way to go yet! There are a lot of Eno/ Unforgettable Fire signatures on the new album. Would love to hear Coldplay cover A Sort of Homecoming. Apparently it was played to the fruity baby in utero :) Yes....see i was in reverse...I heard of Coldplay, then heard What's Going On with Chris and Bono, then I downloaded SBS and Beautiful Day...and i knew some older songs, but U2 I really found them from the stupid IPOD commercial.

I can't belive it won them fans! If you like Coldplay then you should really listen to the Unforgettable Fire from 1984, it's a beautiful, slightly out-of-focus album.

(should i hang my head in shame and say I got the u2 ipod for my birthday on monday?) and the vertigo video. I dunno i liked the lyrics and thought edge was a wicked guitarist. I love all of u2's albums except october and zooropa(two songs on zooropa i like..numb and stay). Pop is actually one of my favorite. And Boy. Unforgettable Fire is amazing though.
June 11, 200521 yr Zooropa is my favourite and Pop my least!! We are opposites  Life's rich pageant

We might have been in the same queue mate!! Was it the bogs in the far left corner of the field? (can't believe I'm going into this much detail just to see if I was in the same toilet queue as someone else!!) Anyway I was one of the pissed guys with the Scotland flags if you spotted them! You going to Hampden??
