yay, another U2 and Coldplay fan! :D

 

War is an INCREDIBLE record. I fell in love with it in Ireland, since that and Joshua Tree were the only 2 I brought with me when I went back in April. It holds a special place in my heart now, for that. Seconds is one of my favorite songs off of it!

Seconds actually has in my honest opinion the best lyrics fitting to the time it was released.

 

In an apartment on Times Square, you can assemble them anywhere. Held to ransom, hell to play. A revolution everday! UDSSR, DDR, London, New York... Peking: It's a puppets, the puppets who pull the string!

 

Un-be-liev-able when I heard it for the first time all those years ago.

 

Same goes for Sunday Bloody Sunday. The music lets you have the same mood Bono has while peforming Sunday Bloody Sunday LIVE :p

 

Fury. And that's music, ladies and gentleman.

 

Music that actually has a point and tells "something".

 

That's why Hip-Hop and Rap, you know, where they say "mafakka" 200 times per second, plus a few other, totally not fitting, words. Then they put some computer generated beat behind the music, create a videoclip with 40 horny chicks shaking their asses while riding in the most expensive Mercedes AMG I have ever seen and looking like they need sex right now while they dance around that guy performing the song who has 40 tons of gold 'round their neck.

 

Damn.

Seconds was my first favorite U2 song... Well, first song of their's that I KNEW was U2. I loved Walk On when it came out when I was about 12 or 13, but I had no idea who did it. War was the album that got me hooked on them, I think it was the first one I bought actually. Needless to say, you can't go to Ireland, drive by the Cliffs of Moher with Drowning Man playing and not fall in love with this band.

 

:lol: Great description of current music! Aint it the truth, sadly? But we have U2, and that's all we can be thankful for. And Coldplay, for that matter. As long as they continue to make great music, as they're doing now, and I've got my old U2 albums then I'm perfectly ok. I just don't put on the radio. ;)

Yes...I think it's going to be released next year...and I went to both shows..so I hope I'll be able to see me as I was in the second row in Edge's B-stage :lol: :lol: but I'm sure you will see how crazy we were outside in the queue, and I hope there will be the suprise we made for Bono :D

Yay I've finally got it and watched it. At first I thought it was weird, but in the end I thought it was awesome. Very symbolic and well thought out.
